Too many damn good games!!!

Uncharted 2

Modern Warfare 2

I wanted a lot more, but realistically, I probably won't play anything but MW2 multi for a long time.
Same for me. I'm sticking with Uncharted for October and COD for November and beyond (I got NFS Shift for my racing fix).
Brutal Legend will have to wait. ;)

Seriously, how do some people do it? Do they seriously finish 20 hour games by gaming 7 hours straight for 3 days long? Games with 20 hours gameplay takes me 2 months to finish (if I ever finish it). Who has the time to game multiple hours a day? People have school and/or jobs. I want to know. How some do it. Especially adults. How do you do it :O? Tell me!

I know this fellow who owns an internet cafe used mainly by soldiers from Fort Gordon. He plays games all during his work day (9 AM - 10 PM). He said he never plays games during his time off.
Maybe an hour or two 3-4 times a week is all I can devote to gaming.

Yeah pretty big next couple of months for me. But 2010 does look to be a bit bigger for me. Here is what I have preordered so far:

2009:
Uncharted 2: Among Thieves
Brütal Legend
Ratchet and Clank: Clockblockers
Modern Warfare 2
God of War Collection
The Sabetour

plus I haven't decided if I'm going to get Assasssin's Creed 2 or Tekken 6 yet.

2010:
Heavy Rain
Bayonetta
Bioshock 2
Dead Rising 2
FFXIII
God of War III
GT5
White Knight Chronicles
The Last Gaurdian

Yeah I'm going to be having a lot on my plate.

Just bought:

Dead Space Extraction
Halo 3: ODST

Getting for sure:

Uncharted 2
New Super Mario Brothers Wii
Modern Warfare 2
Silent Hill Shattered Memories
Resident Evil: Darkside Chronicles

Undecided:

Assassins Creed 2
Borderlands
A Boy and His Blob
Rabbids Go Home
Final Fantasy: The Crystal Bearers

Yeesh.

Definitely:
Uncharted 2
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2
Assassin's Creed 2
GTA4 DLC Double Pack
Dragon Age Origins
Forza 3
Borderlands
Left 4 Dead 2

Maybe:
PES
Brutal Legend

Not as bad as I thought it'd be.

Looking forward to just Silent Hill and New Super Mario Bros. after I pick up Boy and His Blob next week. I'm glad so many games are coming out in 2010 instead, my backlog is frigging atrocious and I promised myself last year I would try to tame it. :(

Would FFCC: The Crystal Bearers count for this year? I guess it would, but it's really close to the end.

But yeah, 2010... it's still over two months away and there's already at least eight games I want releasing then.

The lack of hype for New Super Mario Bros Wii, even after the latest glowing previews, makes me sad.

It's a new 2D side scrolling Mario game on a home console.

Every one of you should be buying it.

I'm almost definitely getting these games:
Uncharted 2
Dragon Age

Probably getting:
Tropico 3
Borderlands
Brutal Legend
Left 4 Dead 2

I'll probably buy two of those games and try to convince other people to buy the rest for christmas. :lol

Gotta save up for next year! I'm waiting for Assassin's Creed 2 to come out for the PC, btw. Hoping for additional content like the first game (which I enjoyed greatly).

It's 2.5D.

If it was truly 2D like a Boy and His Blob... mmmm...

Where the hell is the Ratchet love? That game is going to be awesome. Shame on you people (not all of you).

With a major console release in every year but one since the series' inception, plus the two PSP games, you can't really be surprised that people are feeling a bit of series fatigue.

What I want, and what I'll get are two different things.

What I want:
New Super Mario Bros. Wii
Uncharted 2
Brütal Legend
God of War Collection
Afrika
Demon's Soul
Borderlands
Boy and His Blob
Left 4 Dead 2
Zelda: Spirit Tracks

What I'll get:
New Super Mario Bros. Wii

I don't have a job right now, so there is no way that I can afford to buy anything. I'll just sit on the sidelines and live vicariously through you guys. :(

Definitely 2009:
- Dragon Age (PC)

Most probably 2009, depends on price:
- Left 4 Dead 2 (PC)
- Brütal Legend (360)
- Demon's Souls (PS3)

I have to say tho, if this year's UK christmas deals are anything like last year's ... I don't even wanna think about it actually.

Wii
A Boy and his Blob
Rabbids Go Home
LostWinds 2
NEW Super Mario Bros. Wii

DS
The Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks

Maybe
Silent Hill: Shattered Memories
Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: The Crystal Bearers
PlayStation 3

So platformers and action/adventure for the end of the year. Then 2010 is going to be pretty much pure action with Bayonetta, NMH 2, and S&P2. Early 2010 looks awesome, but I can't wait to play those platformers.

I want to get a PS3, but I don't have a job right now (well I do). I'd probably drop some cash if there was a good enough Black Friday deal, though. Something like, PS3 slim plus LittleBigPlanet or a PS3 + some sort of gift card. If Best Buy can get me $60 in coupons, I may get one this month. I have Valkyria Chronicles and I'd love to play it... especially during the winter break since I'll have a few weeks to do it while I look for a job. Then I can get cracking on the platformers I missed on that system and be in time for Heavy Rain.

October:
Uncharted 2 PS3
Borderlands PS3

November:
L4D2 PC
Assassin's Creed 2 PS3

LTTP:
Demon's Souls PS3(fuck off TRU)
Ratchet PS3
MW2 PC

I'll probably grab some more by years end, especially with xmas coming up. I was at 8 games for this fall earlier this year, but damn near everything got pushed into 2010, which is both good and bad, because right now 2010 sounds like 2 games a month. REALLY hoping they are spread out nicely throughout the year. 09 was great in that there were great games all year round.

Just picked up Demon's Souls today.
Uncharted 2 on Tuesday.
FFXIII in December.

Q1 2010 will be worse for me.

Preordered:
Dragon Age (pc)
Borderlands (pc)
Uncharted 2
Resonance of Fate

Recently got/coming:
MGS4
Valkyria Chronicles
Demon's Souls
Too Human
GTA IV (360)

I have a 10 page paper and minor project due Monday, a test Wednesday, a lab report due Thursday, and I spent today playing Demon's Souls. I feel so screwed.

Tekken 6 and Assassin's Creed 2 for me. If I hear really good things about Brutal Legend I'll consider picking it up. As for 2010, Bayonetta and Mass Effect 2 are pretty much all I'm going to need for a good long while.

All I have on my list is NSMB, Zelda:ST, FFCC:CB, maybe Silent Hill, and maybe MW2 if I can find it a lot cheaper than $60 for the PC. I probably won't be playing more than the first two until Feb or March since I'm still working through the June/July Wii flood. I'm also putting time into FFVI, Chrono Trigger, Psychonauts, KotOR 1&2, Mario Golf, and Metroid Prime Trilogy. No matter how many great games come out now they still can't compete with how many great games I never played or played a long time ago.

Definitely getting L4D2 (PC) and probably MW2 (360) and maybe Borderlands (360) depending on reviews and that's it.

The need to get single player games on day 1 is easy for me to resist these days.

Slasher, didn't you sell your PS3? and was going to pick a slim up when enough games are out? How does it look for you now?

Definitely getting:

Ratchet
Uncharted 2
Demons Souls
God Of War Collection

Maybe:

Assassins Creed 2
Modern Warfare 2

I will probably buy games on black friday too. The deals always get me. I dont think all this is too bad. Spring of next year looks alot worse.

Just Zelda Spirits Tracks for me. Maybe Drawn to Life 2 DS (have to try it first).

Nothing that interest me on PSP coming out (though since I just got it I'm catching up so I don't care).

NSMB Wii *if* I get a Wii, but I probably won't unless Nintendo releases the Black one. A Boy and His Blob looks purchase-worthy, too, but I'd have to investigate more.

I am trying purposely not to get hyped for most of the great titles coming out so I can thin my backlog. Only things I want are Half Minute Hero, FF XIII, and Demons Souls. It sucks that I will have to ignore some damn fine games that are on the way. Also, school kind of acts as a gaming deterrent, for better or for worse.

I haven't touched my PS3 since I got a Platinum Trophy on Dead Space about a couple of weeks ago.

PSP has been keeping me PLENTY busy. Final Fantasy Dissida is like crack. Plus Monsters Deluxe and Half Minute Hero coming out next week, yeesh. And I'm still playing through Resistance Retribution.

PSP has had enough awesome releases this past couple of months alone, and more upcoming, to keep you away from consoles!

My wallet's load was eased a bit by NBA 2K10. Ended up popping it on eBay today, after days of trying to tweak it to my tastes.

It's the first NBA 2K title I've sold out of dissatisfaction, having owned all ten versions. Heartbreaking, but on a positive note, that means more time for FIFA this year, so all isn't lost.

Anyway, yeah, it's a big Fall. Some key delays eased my load, but it's still up there.

October 13: Brutal Legend (PS3), A Boy and His Blob (Wii)
October 20: FIFA 2010 (PS3), Medieval Games (Wii)
November 3: Dragon Age Origins (PS3), Fighting Fantasy (DS)
November 6-ish: SingStar Take That (PS3)
November 15: New Super Mario Bros (Wii)
November 17: God of War Collection (PS3)

With Demon's Souls and Pinball Hall of Fame getting so much play right now, it's tough to think about buying more games. GoW and Blob might get cut for that reason, but I doubt it.

Have
Uncharted 2
Demon Soul

Will Get
Way of The Samurai 3
Smackdown vs Raw 2010
Borderland
Ratchet and Clank
Assassin's Creed II
COD MW 2
GOW HD collections

This year doesn't even touch the same quality as a lot of years in the past.

I still have games to enjoy but i have found myself going back to old games a lot this year.

... Did you just call Quest for Booty a major console release? The game was just 3 hours long! :lol

Getting / pre-ordered

2009:
Uncharted 2
Forza 3
GTA Tony Ballad DLC
MW2
Ass Creed 2

2010:
Dante Inferno
Mass Erect 2
FF XII
GoW 3
Last Guardian
Alan Wake
SC Conviction

Spent $600 already. Still thinking of Dragon Age and Heavy Rain.

Well I am borrowing a PS3 now from a friend and picking a slim up after the holidays. :D

So can we expect a return of PS3 walkthroughs at that time?? That last Siren one was awesome. :D

Ahh, and so it begins.

I wonder how long until someone says that 'this is the best year for gaming eva' :lol

Also, i find that significantly raising my standards gets rid of this pesky issue.
I find that over the course of the year my standards for games just declines and by the time fall hits I get really excited over nothing. Needless to say I'm excited about a lot this year...

Brutal Legend and GTA:Episodes from Liberty City are all I'm buying for the rest of the year. Pretty manageable imo.

I have to go with the 'eh, not so much' crowd, but next year will be an absolute massacre.

Defo:
Brutal Legend
NSMB Wii

Probably:
L4D2
Borderlands
The Ballad of Gay Tony
Dragon Age
Modern Warfare 2 (Probably just rent, annoyed at PC delay)
Beatles Rock Band (a good christmas game)

Maybe:
Muramasa (Hi Europe)
Assassin's Creed 2 (Rent)
Spirit Tracks (Please don't be shit)
Halo ODST (Probably rent, or wait until the price is justified. Didn't really care until Nathan Fillion. :lol)

+ Any interesting indie, wii ware, xbla, iphone stuff that appears.

Really wish I could play Uncharted 2, I really liked the first although it had huge problems. Will be getting a PS3 when Heavy Rain hits next year though.

Actually, not so much. This year has been quite tame IMO.
Uncharted 2
MW2
ODST
Borderlands
Dragon Age Origins.
Left 4 Dead 2
Forza 3
That's really all I want this year.

Last year was:
Deadspace
Far Cry 2
Resistance 2
Fallout 3
Valkyria Chornicles
Gears of War 2
Prince of Persia
Left 4 Dead
Call of Duty WaW
LittlebigPlanet
MotorStorm Pacific Rift
and more probably.

I can see why you would be excited about 2010, but Im lucky in that most of the games I want didnt get delayed so 2009 is the big year instead :lol

(No doubt that will change).

I think 4 games left this year are ones Ill get:
NSMB Wii
Uncharted 2
Brutal Legend
Metroid Triology

3 of them are out this week!

Imagine, right now Super Mario Galaxy 2 is sitting on a shelf in EAD Tokyo finished. :/ :lol

Hear ye, hear ye, 2010 will be the greatest year since 1998.

This cycle:
2007 >> 2008 > 2006 > 2009

If you haven't played either of the first two, you are in for a treat (and even then...).

I've only got one game pre-ordered for this year, and I almost always pre-order games that I want; I'm not going to be playing many new games this year.

Next year however... holy hell... better than 2007 and 2004 for sure, perhaps close to 1998. Three year cycles it seems...

Yeah, definitely not feeling the burn in this year compared to previous ones. 2007 is still the heaviest holiday season ever for me, just constant titles from end of summer on: Bioshock, Halo 3, Orange Box, CoD4, Mass Effect, Puzzle Quest, etc (and I was 360 exclusive at that point! If I had my PC and PS3 back then, I would have been in debt, not just broke).

This year, there is Halo 3:ODST (not really a must have title in hindsight, want to ditch it but need the multiplayer disc for matchmaking until the maps get released), Modern Warfare 2, and thats it. I'll probably grab Dragon Age, and maybe Brutal Legend next week, but must have titles for me are few and far between: didnt like Uncharted, sequel is a no go. Likewise for Assassins Creed. L4D2 doesnt seem necessary considering how quickly my friends list burned out on the original. Been meaning to start playing Ratchet PS3 and then maybe buy the sequel, but I still can't work up the motivation to turn my PS3 on instead of my 360, so that's probably going to wait for a price drop as well. I just am not seeing a heavy holiday season this year at all.
