Toukiden 2 coming to West in Spring 2017 [Up: For PS4/Vita/PC]

I started playing Toukiden Earth From Captain Planet again in anticipation of Toukiden 2. I haven't completed all the multiplayer phases.

I forgot how easy the end game is when you properly spec your Mitama skills. I got a SPD CnS setup that just murders everything.

Thought like this was worth updating here too.

Although platforms are yet to be announced, I think PS4/Steam is a lock given Koei Tecmo's history. Vita seemed in question, but it appears we're not only getting the game but physically, too. At least in Europe:

USK has rated it for Vita (choose PS Vita as the platform in the search)

Koch Media have listed it on their site (they're a distributor in Germany)

Germany retailer has it listed for Vita (the same one that leaked all the NISA announcements from a couple of months ago)

So that's nice for anyone who's more of a fan of playing hunting games on handhelds!

I can't wait. I got into Monster Hunter back with MH3U, and while I still enjoy the series to this day, the original Toukiden addressed some of the quibbles I had with MonHun games and I got really into it. I'm not saying one series is better than the other, but seeing more worthy competition in the hunting genre can only mean good things.

Now that Vita is hacked they should not bother bringing the Vita version over.

Just bring over the PS4 version. Port to PC also too.

That's some pretty dumb reasoning as I'm sure only a small percentage of Vita owners bother with Henkaku and an even smaller percentage pirate.

The gameplay i've seen of toukiden 2 looks the same as the original while at the same time being upgraded in pretty fun ways. Can't wait

...um...what?

This is excellent news. I really loved the first although I liked God Eater a bit more. I completely forgot about this, my backlog grows even further this year! :D

Cool, hope it's a better port this time around.

This right here. This times a million. I loved the game, but it's still one of the worst PC ports I've ever played in my life.

As a side note, is the JP PS4 version 60FPS? I don't care if it drops frames, I just want some hope that they didn't tie the animation to 30FPS again.

I'm guessing they'll bungle the PC port again, but I'll wait and see. Definitely getting this game one way or another, though.

Against all odds, looks like the Vita version might be getting a retail release in North America too.

I don't even know how this happened. After Chin saying that Kiwami didn't sell well and Koei-Tecmo releasing no retail Vita games since 2015, I never expected this.

Totally different game engine, as I understand it. There may be some of the funky locked-ratio stuff Japanese studios like to do that Durante or somebody might have to come along and fix, but performance should be up to the new game, not old standards.

I'm not sure how Attack on Titan ran on PC (Steam lists "Mostly Positive" responses and negative reviews seem mostly focused on gameplay rather than performance) so that should be an indicator.
