I only get two tickets and it won't be at IMAX. Just regular 3D. Also all my friends and I are going launch day at IMAX....

Go so you can let us all know how disappointingly bad it is and derail the hype train

or confirm that its a cool action flick

Just go twice. Let your eyes bleed with regular 3D and let them pour with IMAX 3D.

None of the film was actually shot in IMAX, right? I'm thinking of doing a Tuesday 9pm showing in Real-D.

That would suck a bit.... The IMAX scenes in Revenge of the Fallen were awesome. Forest Fight Especially.

Megan Fox isn't missed even a single bit.

That could be said for most of the characters. Just give me Robots!

Film doesnt have to be shot in IMAX to be worth an IMAX ticket IMO

The sound alone will be worth it. I saw the TF3 trailer in an IMAX, and the sound was unbelievable. I think Ive permanently lost some hearing ability since then

I want to leave the theater partially deaf and with blood in my eyes.

The correct answer is to see it in LIEMAX so you can get the benefits of a digital 3D print with IMAX quality sound.

Yeah our IMAX isn't a 'proper' one :(

Is LIEMAX Digital IMAX? I'm seriously asking because here are the options I have in my country right now:

1) 35mm regular projection. 2D.

2) Digital projection. 2D.

3) Real-D Digital projection. 3D.

4) Digital IMAX. 3D.

The Digital IMAX cinema is a brand new upgrade to an existing cineplex. There are no "real" IMAX cinemas here at the moment, 3D or otherwise. I'm really interested in trying this Digital IMAX out, and they'll be screening TF3 in 3D. Is that a good option, or will it be a ripoff?

Please advice.

LieMAX's are great.

Duckroll: I would go to the Digital IMAX 3D. The screens arent as big as "real" IMAX, but they are still bigger than the norm, and the sound is INSANE, plus youll get a nice digital projection

I may be alone on this, but it's bothered me in Bayformers how the Autobots are willing to kill Decepticons. I know Transformers is a kid's show, and that's why we don't really see a lot of death in the cartoons, but the good team being okay with killing just doesn't mesh with my idea of Transformers...it's a little disconcerting to have Bumblebee blowing someone's head off (as in this clip.)

Sound really depends on the theater. The big IMAX at Navy Pier in Chicago certainly has "big" sound but not necessarily great sound, there are some newer 'regular' theaters that easily outdo it A/V-wise (Showplace Icon being a recent favorite of mine).

I'm forever mad that the bass at Canada's UltraAVX was toned down*. It was ear deafening when it opened but it got scaled down to a normal theatre whimper a few months afterwards. Transformers has consistently gotten the sound part so right and this likely would be a divine movie in the original setup of that theatre.

*toned down in the pilot Calgary location, at least

This is film. I'd honestly be pissed if they were copping out with taking the decepticons down by "knocking them out" or something equivilant.

Exactly what Dead said. It is digital IMAX, but the screen - whilst bigger than the norm isn't quite as big. The picture is of a much richer fidelity though, being digital and all which makes a huge difference in a 3D film. Sound is IMAX quality.

Its hilarious how so many people ive talked to irl who HATED TF2 are really pumped for TF3 :lol

I wish IMAX would get the reserve seating of UltraAVX. However I have a few IMAX screens near me (the real thing) so I'm ready.

I have a real IMAX screen nearby as well (I think), but I actually kinda hate going to 3D movies there. During my multiple Avatar runs, I noticed RealD's tech had less ghosting and more depth, and the glasses were infinitely more comfortable.

No brainer when a movie is shot in IMAX format though. Dark Knight was too much for my body.

I actually found Liemax to overall be the best 3D experience. Its got the strengths of both real D and IMAX put together

Yep. This. Waiting for IMAX to get their shit together so we can have digital projection in the real venues. It would also eliminate the bullshit runtime problem.

Best RealD screens are in Cinemark's XD theaters. Like Liemax the screens are bigger than regular theaters, and the sound is better. Don't know if it the sound is IMAX good, probably not, but it's definitely better than any other movie theater I've been to. :P The 3D image quality is pristine though and I can't imagine getting any better for 2K projection.

SO you set on seeing this jett? Or waiting for GAF impressions?

Man I don't know, I think I'll wait for overall reception on this bitch. I'm not a fan of either movie, but I enjoyed the first.

choices choices....

Ive got a similar dilemma

My choices are:

1. Digital RealD 3D

2. Digital V-Max 3D- Basically Liemax huge screen, bigger sound system, bigger seats.

3. Worlds Largest IMAX 3D.

Ive decided to go all Shockwave on this movie and switch off all higher functions and just enjoy the madness.
But i need to decide how to enjoying the madness best.

Option 1 is closest, and cheapest...its literally walking distance from my apartment

Option 2 has better everything than 1. i also has the best popcorn, but its about a 30-40 minute drive away, and its 6 dollars more expensive than option 1

Option 3 is really far, like an hour with limited traffic, is the most expensive and also has pretty shitty popcorn, but the ticket stub can be used to get a 70% discount on the worlds best Icecream!!!

Thanks. I've never seen Digital IMAX 3D before, so hopefully this is a good experience. I'm pretty excited for next week! :D

Not so much pumped but really curious to see if they really can unfuck what they did with TF2, which is probably one of THE worst films I've ever seen. TF1 I've grown to accept but still think it's crazy mediocre.

That being said, yeah, i'm having an open-mind to TF3 only because I think it might be something fun to take my 8 year old to see if it isn't complete dog-shit.

From what I've heard, the sound mixing and special fx are fantastic in this one. Also, the CG seems to have improved. Some of the shots just look so realistic. 9 more days!

I don't think there's going to be another action movie that'll top this one for a long long time.
when I saw Starcraft II trailers I thought so too about it, but after it got released, all the flaws just appeared like scratches, spots and deformations do when you look into the mirror.

I think this movie will leave for something to be desired, so I guess those faults may yet to be healed by another movie this year, who knows :P

Literally so excited for this, and those TV spots do nothing to tone that down. I am one of the few(well, maybe it is just me) that like both of the first two movies, so this will be great!

YOU CAN'T REPLACE MEGAN FOX. No, seriously. More than half of the reason I watched these movies was her. And I don't find her replacement attractive at all.

Bit torn for this. It's pop corn cinema at its finest but not sure I'm willing to spend £10 on this.

Also, english isn't my native language but... isn't "Dark of the moon" kind of... engrish-y?

You get a 70% discount to which ice cream vendor in Darling Harbour?

Blame Spielberg and her stinking attitude for her demise.

Anyway the best thing about this is for all you guys who fancy her the chances of her doing a proper nude photoshoot go up the more her career tanks and she needs the attention.

So it's win/win for everyone. I don't have to see her on my screen and you guys may get to wank yourself into a frenzy over her bony frame in the near future.

Rosie makes Megan look like Lindsay after a night with Downey and his friend Jack.

"Dark of the Moon" is a real term, but alot of people first had issues with the titlebecause it just sounded awkward to say.
