Twins are in it? I'm already on the hype train and can't get off. I won't get off!

The twins kill Megatron 15 minutes in, and the rest of the movie is them breakdancing.

Haha. Dat Bay.

Y2Kev...

So the scene where the twins get killed by Sentinel Prime (big red guy who turns in to a fire truck) is indeed in the film? I say this because it was in the comic/novel but may not have been included in the film if the twins weren't in like Bay said...

If yes to the question then OMGWIN.
I honestly don't remember. I couldn't keep all the autobots straight.
There are definitely deaths in the movie of autobots. I don't remember them dying though.

Theyre like bright green and orange, are you sure they were in it?

Person who saw the movie at TFW2005 seems to imply the Twins aren't in it. Its just Wheelie and his new Sidekick

Some really odd tonal shifts. Like weird blends of comedy/action/weirdness.

This goes for every single Michael Bay movie ever. Sometimes it works, but I've found it completely out of place in this universe.

Bay should be a special effects guy, and someone who understands storytelling and tone should be the actual director.

Well if going by leaked pics of their vehicle forms, they should be all black with a hint of the green and orange.

There is definitely an Impala in the movie. I thought that was them.

It's not like the film does a good job of building up these characters or anything.

There's a lot of Cisco product placement.

The "twins" people are asking about are characters that speak with a barely-literate hick accent.

OMG! I think I know what you're talking about now. The film makes a joke about
them being assholes so they don't let them off the base.

I think that's them? But you do see them very briefly maybe? I don't know, who gives a shit.

Oh, so Brooklyn Decker didn't get the "Carly" part despite her being one of the most beautiful things on the planet... because she's married.

Seems like it. Bay wanted some poontang and Decker was taken so he settled.

3D-GAF, I need your help.

This will be my first 3D film since Up a few years ago. I just went to Fandango to try and buy tickets for this, and my 3D options are thus:

IMAX 3D
RealD 3D
Digital 3D
And something called RPX (which really just seems like marketing gobbledygook):
RPX is the best picture you’ve ever heard! RPX features a giant immersive screen illuminated by high-quality digital projectors and completed with a state-of-the-art sound system. Regal technicians individually design each RPX location to provide an enhanced experience in sight and sound.

I don't necessarily care about seeing it in IMAX. I have the Living Social deal that I'd like to use for this, but you have to buy the tickets online, which means my options are Digital 3D and this RPX thing. Although I have no problem paying for the RealD if the quality is there.

What say you, GAF?

lol I have to say the highway chase was his best action scene by miles.

That and The Rock are the only films of his I can stand to watch really. Armageddon is a load of shit.
Droppin' them bodies!

I hope DOTM has a scene with Bumblebee sitting inside Optimus Prime's trailer while throwing out the corpses of dead Transformers in order to lose their pursuers!

5 bucks on people having seizures from the sheer amount of awesome happening for 40 minutes straight.

I'll be one of them

Getting really pumped for TF3 now. First Kev says it wasn't horrible (OMG!) and now he's actually comparing it to Avatar!!!!!! Movie of the forever!

Bumblebee catching....nvm, just watch if you want to get hyped up
that's the best 3d scene in the movie. well, third best.

there are some really good uses of 3d. I thought it was subtle, which was surprising. it wasn't like avatar with shit flying everywhere and particle effects.

i enjoyed the 3d a lot in this film.

I was more impressed by the battle sequence in Avatar because I think Cameron does a much better job telling a story and framing the overall action, but it was definitely cool.

There is a scene that is VERY familiar to a popular video game that everyone has played. :)
To be honest, with Bay i know not to expect that much.

But just knowing that the geography, and overall direction is far more assured than ROTF is what has me excited.

I didnt hate the action in ROTF because humans were killing the robots, I hated it because it was sloppy, badly edited, nonsensical, and horribly laid and planned out. Like half of the action in the final battle in ROTF was off screen bullets killing random robots. It was terrible.

edit: That someone called it "OMG EPIC" indicates that it is in fact not epic.

Long block down the middle?

I thought the forest scene was superb. Prime's entrance and the whole setup at the beginning in China was also pretty awesome too, IMO.

However, regarding your final sentence, yes, that was hugely offensive when Prime was fighting The Fallen. Columns and shit obstructing the view and whatnot. Sooooo annoying.

We've all seen it in the trailers. Michael Bay is a fan of Uncharted 2 confirmed.

with out "really" spoiling anything i would like to know what was your favorite fight scene.

robot vs robot, if you dont want to you dont have to say anything i guess lol, i am just a big fan of well choreographed fight scenes

I actually thought the fight scenes were kinda short. Like...this wasn't Escaflowne. I'm not going to spoil. I have a favorite, but is this film series really big for 1v1 robot fights?

There are some cool gang of robots vs. gang of robot fights though.

oh

well that's part of that long sequence.

Patrick Dempsey is just annoying in the movie and is WAY too old to be playing the part he does.

cool i dont mind gang vs gang either, just wondering if there is anything like the forest fight scene in ROTF that was really well done, i wonder exactly who choreographs the fight scenes i heard it is part of the stunt team but i am not sure

Kev does the climax have a really good action sequence? Bay hasn't exactly been wonderful with the action, I know you said you didn't like it as much as the end of Avatar's action climax, but is it still well done and exciting?

I just hope that, since it's the end of the trilogy, that the third act goes out with a bang, with some really good action.

So, I think, taken in isolation, the climax is very cool. A lot of cool 3D and great effects. I just thought the rest of the movie was a little long and it takes a long time to get there.
