Apple Trailers

Youtube

It is up on MichaelBay.com and Apple Movies but shit be getting hammered.

zomgosh is that who I think it is?

Don't you guys mean "Dark Side of the Moon?". "Dark of the Moon" makes no sense

I will say that they were wise not to show any earth stuff. Better not to pollute our minds with flashbacks to how terribad TF2 was.

I look forward to getting headaches not knowing what's going on at all in fights...in 3D.

The only fight that sort of made spacial sense in Transformers 2 was the one in the forest.

hmm.. the trailer makes it seem cool but it didn't really show the actual movie. we won't know how ANYTHING about how bad/good it is until we see footage of shia running and screaming.

[Easy Retcon]: Well, NASA didn't know about the aliens yet, only Sector 6.

On a side note, Patrick Dempsey - yes, ladies, McDreamy himself - is in this.

OK...fuck it. I'm hyped.

Only Sector 7 knew of the Transformers existence. NASA has no clue they exist, so that's why they say "We aren't alone aren't we?"

I'm not familiar with the villain, who is that guy supposed to be?

Who says it has to be a villian? I present you Alpha Trion, one of the oldest Transformers:

Although, others are speculating it could be Silverbolt, or Unicron.

Well, we've already seen robot beards in Bay's Transformers.

On the flip side, maybe Unicron is the moon itself? Sounds like something Bay would do.

You guys have heard of the moon landing conspiracy. Of those that believe it was faked, half believe it was just a PR stunt to "outdo" the Soviets, and the other half believe we did land on the moon but the footage itself was a fake, and the "real" landing was with Armstrong and the rest discovering UFO's parked on the surface. Basically, a mirror of that trailer (aside from the 'transformers'). I remember reading about that a few years ago and the transmission scene in the trailer jogged my memory

Looks an awfully lot like Unicron, but small. He certainly isn't eating no moonbase 1 or 2. Funny though homage to the Ark from G1.

Updated the OP with the Apple link, I have QuickTime installed, and it still never worked for me. :(

I do have to admit, I found it a bit funny that the first person to comment on the title was a person with a James Bond avatar.

This is intresting

On the cost of shooting 3D: “…These studios are rushing through their 3D. There is a right way to do it and a wrong way. I think, personally. If you want to do proper 3D it’s a $30 million price tag. You don’t to admit it, but that’s what it really is to do proper 3D. Studios will sometimes do it or $10 million, or $12 million. $30 million, in terms of the equipment, the crew. That camera equipment is really expensive to rent. And if you want to do dual eye-rendered robots, you got another 30% charge, because you got two eyes now, two different visual effects that have got to be blended. There’s more work on the visual effects shots.” … “Depth, you can’t really appreciate 3D because you need like 3 or 4 seconds, most people do, to really feel 3D. …. But it’s actually changed my style on this movie—I’ve got many more wides, the camera’s not wild. So it does change my style a bit.”

I've said it once and I'll say it again: These Transformers are too fucking complicated looking for me.

When 2 of them start fighting, it looks like a jumbled mess.

But aren't they all surprised and shit in the first Transformers when the Mars Rover is attacked?

It doesn't look nearly as large as Unicron should look, but there's nothing in that shot (like a planet) to give us an idea of his scale. I'm pretty sure that's Unicron though. Makes more sense to conclude a teaser with an iconic character rather than some lesser-known random robot.

Yeah, they look like shit, but just peaking my head in past Transformers movie threads, apparently there's a strong contingent of (objectively wrong) people that feel a simpler design that's closer to the cartoons wouldn't look realistic enough or as good as the cluttered, random, moving gears and needless convolution design we ended up with.

That does make a lot more sense, especially since Unicron is so fucking huge. I still hold out hope he's the villain in this.

Our visual work is a mess now? ;P

fucking ridickkelus.

But really, it's going to be awesome just like TF1 and RotF was.

That's right, suck it hater bitches, both were awesome. The new girl looks uglier than Megan Fox though though, who will be missed.

I'd say about 75% of them is Bay's frenetic camera work with zooms and quick pans.

The best fight scene in all the movies has been the forest battle in T2 because you could actually see the scale of the robots and how they interact with each other. Hopefully, this 3D shit actually made him think about that this time around.

The funny thing with Transformers 1 was that it was a great movie, but it seemed so limited in scale. Transformers 2 tried to answer that with some ridiculous greater chosen one storyline that a) made no sense (even in a world with vehicular robots) and b) just distracted from the simple aspect that it was robots fighting robots. Also, they decided to give humans more involvement in the movie when TF1 levels was perfectly adequate.

.
You're forgetting a very important fact that NONE OF THESE MOVIES MAKE ANY SENSE.

I think
, hope
he's the "main" villain in a similar fashion as Devastator in RotF. He's there, and has a strong segment, but Unicron will be the ultimate villain. At least one can hope :(
