Got around to watching ROH Final Battle. Great show, but jesus christ the production values are fucking terrible. Aren't they owned by a fucking broadcast network? It's really detrimental to their product. Are there any indies that have some decent production? UWF impressed the hell out of me, but it seems TNA and obviously WWE are the only promotions that have the money to put something decent looking on tv.

Good heavens.

The likes of Justin Gabriel look quite tame after seeing a 630 rotation.

Hire this man if you plan for a new cruiserweight division, WWE, hire him fast. Hell, hire him even if you don't.

Also, the Dragonrana remains one of my favourite moves ever.

We know WWE at least looks at Dragon Gate USA. That is where they pulled Dean Ambrose from.

Hello all, finally got activated but have read the wrestling threads for a while!

Just wondering if any of you read wrestling books? I just finished Eric Bischoff, to go on the shelf with Mick Foleys, Jerichos, Bret Harts, Hogans, DX, Batista, Edge and HBK.

Currently reading Eddies and got Rey Mysterios to read next. Just wondering if there are any others worth reading?

Grew up watching wrestling and have always been a big fan. Can't wait for Elimination Chamber PPV, will this be on Sky Sports in UK? Fed up with box office!

Regal's book is a great read.

What is the info on the art show? If I'm in town that might be something to do since I haven't been to that before.

Not confirmed yet but they've done it last few years, even if they dont WWE is doing WWE Universe Parts in South beach everynight from 8pm to 12 am

you get to buy art and meet the lower superstars on the totem pole.

I recommend "The Death of WCW", it's quite comprehensive and intriguing to read.

On the topic of books has anyone read The Death of WCW? Got it on my shelf but never got around to reading it.
It's a great read. A must have for any WCW fan, really.

Dragon Gate USA
Main Event #1
Low Ki vs. PAC
March 30th - Miami, FL
DGUSA.tv For Tix & Info

Wow. PAC vs Low Ki is going to be insane.

I'm hoping so. Pac v. Tozawa last weekend was phenomenal. Low Ki mixed it up pretty good with BxB. This certainly has promise. I'm hoping PAC actually gets the win here.

I'm hoping the CZW interaction is limited to any possible Thursday show and the rest of the DGUSA weekend is as good as their other Mania weekends have been.

Well, shaved his head, is 31 now, and probably lost some weight. I don't think he takes steroids, his physique looks natural to me.

yeah ortan , punk look like guys in great condition that dont get sleep basically. They'd probably look alot younger if they didnt work such hellish schedules.

I think my favourite PAC move is his Implosion 450;

The TV show has a lot better production, but even by ROH iPPV standards Final Battle was bad, and this was probably because it was the first iPPV they put on since producer Dave Lagana went to work for TNA. I'm hoping that the TV quality production translates over to the 3 ROH iPPVs next month, as it just wasn't good enough at Final Battle.

As for other indies, CHIKARA's High Noon went off without a hitch and is probably the best produced iPPV I've seen so far. Dragon Gate USA shows usually look OK, but always seem to be marred by at least one major technical fault.

Caught up on Impact. Thought it was great! (the first hour anyway) It was hilarious seeing most of the shitty faces like Crimson get booed out of the building. I enjoyed it right up until the Bischoff's and Hogan shitted up the place.

I also caught High Noon and while it was pretty smooth, these iPPV's just look like shit on a decent-sized TV. The whole thing looks pretty amateurish which is a shame because the wrestling is top notch. It's pretty disappointing to see in 2012 that major wrestling promotion shows look like they're being filmed with camcorders.

Seeing how mad the Super Bowl makes American people... I wonder would WWE ever decide to move Wrestlemania away from PPV, put it on normal US TV (maybe get channels to bid for it?), and shove a few high-value adverts in it. They would make guaranteed money that way, get high exposure, and crucially not have to bother to develop decent storylines to get people to buy it.

One would have to wonder how much profit could be made from that. Wrestling is not nearly as big as it was once, putting Wrestlemania on free TV would probably still be very well watched, but it will never receive Superbowl numbers (which is more like a holiday for most people, where they make a whole family/friends-event out of it) and therefor would never receive the same amount of income as the Superbowl. I doubt pro-wrestling in 2012 could pull that off and be more profitable then just having it on PPV.

Also, damn those Bella's are hot. Shame they try to market them as wrestlers, just have them escort someone to the ring: Ziggler maybe to go with his show-off gimmick. The same thing is doing wonders for my opinion of Rosa Mendez not that she comes out with Epico and Primo and just stands there dancing in skimpy outfits.

I don't think he could get that sort of schedule with WWE. I don't think he would be that meaningful.

Yeh I just think that if Sting showed up on Raw tomorrow night the reaction of a good portion of the crowd would be "who?" The reduced schedule is for guys like HBK and Taker who have done a lot for the company.

I know we like to paint Vince as this incompetent boob, or even this malignant cancer, but I think this is naive. He's not stupid. He's "a millionaire that could be a billionaire," sure, but he's not a moron; he's not completely out of touch with, you know, reality. If Vince didn't think Sting would have any meaning to the average viewer, he'd ignore him. He's not going to expect a 52 year old man to work house shows, wrestling in tag matches with Santino every night, to sign a five year deal where he wrestles on SmackDown every week - he's not mental.
