Are You Serious is pretty great. Definitely looking forward to the next one.

But I have to say, the effects/animations from all these WWE YouTube shows are straight out of 90's PBS educational shows. You know the kind I'm talking about.

I don't dislike him personally, his obsession with being in the spotlight and the centre of attention at the cost of other, more deserving wrestlers is what annoys me. I was a fan of his even despite his history of burying guys and using his pull to put himself over, I was a fan right up until this year. I really enjoyed his WM match, not a problem, but when he took over Punk's breakout story (which, had they full taken advantage of it, legitimately could have turned him into a megastar as big as Stone Cold, not kidding.) to make it all about himself, that was enough for me.

If he didn't insist on feeding his ego constantly and dominating everything he appears on, I would have no problem with him. He's a good talent (a solid wrestler, though a loooong way from the level he thinks he is, and good on the mic as a heel) and he seems to have a good head for the business backstage.

But once he gets in front of a camera, all that goes out the window and he goes into full Hogan level spotlight hogging and burying.

As long as he's off the show itself and working backstage, I haven't a single problem with him. He definitely is more in touch than Vince, and he should do a good job managing the company's interests ONCE he has fully retired from any on screen appearances.

Until then...

I'm going to be quite honest at the risk of sounding like a mark.

I took a year off of wrestling and only recently came back to it after finding this thread. I always liked HHH. But, I never followed wrestling discussion online so all this backstage news and behind the scenes stuff is new to me.

As great as it is, it's also ruined some stuff for me. Example, HHH. Self centered dude. Kinda sucks but at the same time it's crazy to learn so much about wrestling.

When he says kids, he means these kids.

o8nnu.gif

Yeah, the exact kids who will already be watching. The one and done guys they get in need to be draws outside their existing fan base, which is why Brock would be a big deal.

So what happened to Orton? Last time I was watching wrestling before my break was in 06. Orton looks a lot different now then he does then, looks cave man like now. Did he get some sort of plastic surgery or something? Or will 5 years do that to you?

Please don't bring Austin back for a match. Let his last match be the one with the Rock. I hate this whole Rock/Cena thing too. It's nice too see em once in a while but you gotta let the We Will Fold evolve without em. Can't make new stars if you keep bringing the old ones back to shit all over their progress.

Well, shaved his head, is 31 now, and probably lost some weight. I don't think he takes steroids, his physique looks natural to me.

Still can't believe how badly they fucked up the Punk story. Yeah, Punk really should be the new Stone Cold but Trips Ego won through again.

are you trying to say cena is a star?

Which wrestler he'd like to face that he hasn't yet: "I'd have to say the top one... Undertaker. I think wrestling fans have wanted to see Sting vs. Undertaker for years. I think between his gimmick and mine, it could be pretty cool. We could do some pretty cool stuff."

If he has any regrets over not joining WWE: "Yes and no. Who wouldn't want to say that they've done at least one WrestleMania? I'm not going to lie to you, I wish I had done one of those. I've had great conversations with him [Vince McMahon] over the years and been real close on three or four different occasions. There was always a need met or desire of mine met with WCW or with TNA, so I stayed."

When was the last time he almost joined WWE: "Last year... we were very, very close."

So maybe they were going for a Sting/Undertaker match last year, haha.

People say the WWE doesn't know how to book a homosexual angle. Obviously forgot about this Steiner/HHH feud.

Posedowns, arm wrestling, push-ups, if this doesn't have an air of homo-eroticness to it.

I'm sure he could get that if he asked, the easy schedule part. Everything else would be well: He's Sting! BAHGAWD

Oh wait gotta adjust for Cole, "LOOK AT THIS NERD WEARING FACEPAINT AND HE'S LIKE 100 YEARS OLD"

I don't think he could get that sort of schedule with WWE. I don't think he would be that meaningful.

Is it because the smarks give Sting too much value that the casuals(kids and wominz) don't?

Yeh I just think that if Sting showed up on Raw tomorrow night the reaction of a good portion of the crowd would be "who?" The reduced schedule is for guys like HBK and Taker who have done a lot for the company.

It was pretty obvious the original concept for those 2.21.11 videos last year were supposed to be for Sting. I'm sure they always planned to make them for 'Taker if/when things fell through.

Can't believe Sting decided to return to shithole TNA to be a part of that Jeff Hardy embarassment in front of 800 people instead of getting that huge match at WM27 against The Undertaker in front of 70,000 people in Atlanta.

Sounds like he's going to be a suit for TNA when he stops wrestling. So sad. :(

Wasn't Sting always under contract with TNA during that time?

It was around the time Sting was lagging on re-signing with TNA. So yeah he was still under contract, but it was assumed that he was going to leave, which is why the vignettes were made ahead of time.

EDIT: Or i could be wrong, haha.

No. Sting's TNA contract expired on December 31, 2010. He only does 1-year deals. He eventually decided to re-sign with TNA after nearly two months of deep negotiating with WWE to face Taker at WM27.
