:lol I love it.

Some love it, others hate it. I guess it's a good thing you can customize your own avatar in the game, even choose a female "La Presidenta".

Xbox 360 and PC versions of Tropico 3 will be on display and playable at the Kalypso "beach" in Hall 6.1, booth C054 of GamesCom!

Uhhh, there's a decision to be made? PC.
This game doesn't look low-spec friendly. Even the trailer seems to be taking frame hits all over the place. For me, I'll try the demo. If I like it I have one more option... if I feel like spending some money for a new graphics card, I'll go PC. If I don't I'll try 360. I like that I have options this time around.

I love the concept, but it doesn't look good that big. The hands look photographic, the body and face looks drawn and the island looks like an entirely different artist made that and photoshopped it into the picture. It needs a second pass.

Don't be that guy that goes into funny threads and ruins it by nitcpicking on some non-sense. Are you seriously going to just ignore how he rocks that beard to talk about his hands. :lol

The original Tropico still holds out so much re-playability for me. I never tried the expansions, but I heard i didn't miss much anyways. Hope it comes out on steam... but I almost wanna get the box so I can laminate that sweet art :D .

Cool, will try the demo.

Need to share the demo mission descriptions, they're awesome:

Kalypso Media today release the demo version of the upcoming strategy game TROPICO 3. Take control of El Presidente and play the game tutorial and the first two missions of the full version.

MISSION 1: Bananas

The abdication of the old Presidente of St. Helena provided the perfect opportunity for your rise to power. Now as the head of state it is your job to lead this small island nation to a new age of prosperity.

St. Helena is a modest island with rich and fertile lands, which have attracted the attention of the American food conglomerate Fruitas LTD. You should make use of the gringos to secure the financial future of the island as well as your own Swiss Bank Account.

MISSION 2: Second Chance

The band of rebels led by your twin managed to drive you out of your own island. Taking the entire treasury, you hitched a ride on an old fishing boat, seeking refuge in your summer residence on the island of El Acantilado.

Chased away from their own homes, your most loyal supporters have followed you. Taking the burden of leadership once again you have promised them a fresh start. Your new island is a poor and dry hunk of rock. Several rich iron ore deposits are its only viable resourcesÂ…..

Sweet, I will be trying this out tonight. I bought my mid-range gaming PC back in December of '08 so hopefully it runs it ok.

It basically needs a SM3.0 videocard, meaning Geforce 6600 or higher, or ATI x1300 or higher. It also really loves dual-and-higher-core CPUs, although, of course, will also run on singlecores.

If you have a weak CPU, turn off shadows and lower the view distance from the options; if you have a weak GPU, again shadows, and reduce "scene resolution".

Wow, the demo plays exactly like the original one. It's kinda both good and bad at the same time.
Funny you should say this, just got done playing the demo some and this was exactly my thoughts as well. It's fun just like the original Tropico but it seems almost exactly the same just better graphics.
