This episode kicked ass! In fact, it's amazing how much ass it kicked considering there was no blood&guts showdown at the church.

Godric...wow...so serene, wise, and still intimidating as hell. Some very obvious Jesus parallels(aside from snapping Gabe's neck)...which unfortunately makes me think that he may get killed :(

Hunter's Soufflé...now there's something I could have gone without seeing.

Loved seeing all of the varying hierarchies interact under one roof...Bill and his maker Lorena, Bill and his Sheriff Eric, Eric and his maker Godric, Godric and his nest, etc. I didn't feel sorry for Lorena at all...like Godric said, old as she was, she didn't try to better herself at all, she was still a brute, just cuz she could be.

Perv-GAF wins again...poor Jessica.

oh, and I love how the two most effective and crucial weapons in the whole episode were a paint gun and a plasma HDTV :lol :lol

Well, untill the end...Fucking Luke...

ke...

God damnit I would hate that he gets killed. I am just now starting to understand his true awesomeness and why Eric is so madly loyal and infatuated with him. The dude just wreaks of pure power and omnipotence.

The dude playing Godrich is really awesome. It's nice to have another good hearted vampire on the show outside of Bill.

For some reason, I'm curious as to how he spent his time at the religious camp. Seems like something was being hidden.

I had the sound up when he throws out Bill's maker. The room was literally shaking with the bass from his presence.

no homo*

*statement my buddy always uses when saying something 'gay' ... but trying to state that he really doesn't mean it 'gay'. In reality, him and I know it's at least a bit gay :p. Nothing is finite, whether he tries to pretend it is or not.

God, damn cliffhangers! Very good episode!

Spoilers from the book:
Maybe they wont kill Godric right now since there was no build-up for his sacrifice (at least not yet). In the book there was this story about how he murdered children and etc and that he was gonna let the Fellowship kill him but it was different on the show so unless they postpone his death until we know a little more about the character, his death wouldn't that have that big of an impact, imo. They could always hurry his story-arch with his guilt but the next episode seems to be pretty packed already. The thing is, in his IMDB page the actor is listed for the next episode only...... oh well

when do the new episode preview usually get on youtube? (im not from usa)

Good god i hate waiting a week, this episode was OMFG worthy.

just realized that my cable company has either mistakenly given me HBO for free w/o noticing or they want me to subscribe to the channel and are giving me a trial run for a number of months. Either way, they never notified me of HBO in the package or not in the package that I am paying for, so I no longer have to watch it online.

I liked the episode as it was much faster paced than the norm. But once again, I didn't like Maryanne's scenes -- they didn't do much for the show to advance anything but putting Sam behind bars uneventfully and serve up some more sex between Tara and Eggs.

Edit:
spoilarz below even if you've seen tonight's episode. beware!

I'm not reading your spoiler, but it's safe to assume that you have obtained spoilers from future eps haha. I'd hate to know what's coming and who's dying beforehand as it would ruin the fun.

I don't remember Bill making a specific comment about it, but it seemed to be implied in the first season that a mind-reader would have better tasting blood than a normal human. As a matter of fact, I think this was something Bill guessed before he ever fed on Sookie, which is why he tried so hard to protect her from other vampires even before they started dating.

As for Jessica, I agree that she will get over it. But every other vampire seems to enjoy having awesome super vampire sex, and that's something she's going to miss out on to a certain degree.

Speaking of sex, I'm kinda disappointed that there was no mention/exploration of Eric and Godric's relationship. They've obviously fucked, why avoid the subject?
God Eric on Godric action would be amazing. Godric is so amazingly hot.

I'd assume the Queen would be older/stronger than Godric? Isn't that how the chain works in their government? (Eric -> Godric -> Queen)

Oh and +1 to the Godric love. A perfect representation of Samuel L. Jackson from Pulp Fiction. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fMRi-gFeK-M

I thought Godric was the oldest vampire in the land. And the Queen ia entitlement position. Meaning she had to be picked. Any vampire can hold that rank no matter their age. Its why Eric said Godric could have been King of Texas or any other position in any other state elsewhere.

Atleast thats what I thought?

Epic episode. Godric is literally awesome. There's something weird going on though, Gabe told Godric "it's me Godric!" before he killed him, like if they were friends or whatever.

Godric was good this episode but Eric was fucking awesome in multiple facets, cracking a smile and being the bad ass. Great lines tonight as usual with Eric telling Sookie to not use words he doesn't understand and Jason with his heaven is inside Sarah line.

Wow, good point. I wonder if Godric is setting the whole thing up, including the final cliffhanger beat...

My sister fucking deleted the episode off of the DVR. Dammit, how good was the episode? Better than the last? There was such a buildup, I was hoping to watch it.

This was probably my most enjoyed episode of the entire series.

I think we all will agree that its the best episode so far. And it will only keep getting better from this point on.

i thought the same thing. but i think that was just more to the fact that godric was there semi-willingly, and wasnt hurting anybody.

I'm kinda surprised by how these plots seem to be finding resolution barely halfway through the season. I'm interested to see where else it goes.

uh, what resolution? also we are now 2/3 through this season if HBO is doing another 12 episode run.

God that episode was beyond amazing. That hunters pie thing? UGH I just want Maryanne to die in a fire.

Godrick is pretty bad ass, and the preview for next week looks incredible. I absolutely can not wait.

I thought the same thing last episode but we're still not done by a longshot. Maryann still has the upper hand more than she ever has back in Bon Temps, and while things seemed finished with the Fellowship of the Sun, that's obviously not the case given the bombing.

Did anyone else see Jessica in a bar with Hoyt in the preview? I'm hoping it's Merlottes. Jessicas storyline has been cute but I wouldn't mind seeing her finally get into some action.

Don't get why people don't like the Maryanne subplot. Its the most interesting one to me with so much mystery surrounding what she is and what she wants.

I don't think it's not that don't like the subplot just they don't make Maryanne likeable which is sort of the point given her status. I find it interesting as i want to find out why she is obsessed with the remaining shifter.

Ehh what. Are you talking about Daphne? She's the shifter.

lol

Oh. My bad. :lol Too many hot women in this show!

Weenerz said:
Of course, that's why she's the Queen and not a Sheriff.

Is everything in the vampire world based on age? Is there no meritocracy at all? Obviously we've seen some vampires that are smarter than others and some that are obviously struggling with who they are despite their age (e.g. Bill's maker). Let's say for some reason Bill is more qualified than Eric to be the next Sheriff (maybe Godric appreciates his approach to human/vampire relations). Would Eric's age trump this (leaving out the fact that Godric is Eric's maker)? I guess if you put a younger vampire in charge there would be a problem because he would always be physically at a disadvantage.

I don't like the Maryanne subplot because it hasn't done much throughout the season besides having Tara and Eggs get on a lot, having Sam run like a dog with his tail behind his leg and Maryanne force herself in every situation. If they gave us more Andy, it would be more enjoyable. If they gave us an ounce of interaction with vampires, it would be enjoyable.

It started out great with Sookie getting attacked and poisoned. Then it became mysterious with having Sam involved. But it hasn't evolved since the vamps left for Texas outside of the sacrificial lamb Daphne.
