That was a great episode, but I'm getting really tired of Maryanne's storyline. It's been the same crap every damn episode and that plot goes nowhere. And all these fully-clothed Tara sex scenes are not in the least bit sexy.

Another question:

Is the Queen of the State even older than Godric?

During the ep Eric interrogated Lafayatte, Eric commented that with his 2,000+ years Godric was the oldest vampire in the New World, and could've been King of any state if he'd chosen to.

So assuming the writers are consistent, it doesn't look like the Queen of Louisiana will be older than Godric.

Interesting.
I thought she would be the most powerful or something.
I'm sure she will be interesting though.

Her and Tara are getting really old...seriously all their scenes are wastes of time.

It doesn't matter if she's more powerful than Godric. I doubt Godric's leaving Texas, she'll be the most powerful when they get back to Louisiana.

Not really. I hate Maryanne but she is planting her seeds in the people of bon temps. If you've seen the preview for next week you would understand what I mean :p.

hmmm...I tend to avoid the previews...I'll give them one more :)

Daaaaamn this ep was awesome, what a cliffhanger.
And the eating scene was the most disturbing thing i've ever seen

I laughed so hard at this part

Sarah: Your worse then Judas
Jason: Why, what did he do to you?
:lol :lol :lol

I don't think it's not that don't like the subplot just they don't make Maryanne likeable which is sort of the point given her status. I find it interesting as i want to find out why she is obsessed with the remaining shifter.

Daphne pretty much explained this. Maryanne can control humans directly, but she likes the challenge of going after Sam. I'm confused about the botched sacrifice attempt, though. I wonder if they will explain something about that. Also, did Tara and Eggs eating that heart do anything other than the obvious immediate effects? I don't dislike the Maryanne storyline, but I'd like more answers to it. I'm very interested in when Sookie returns to Bon Temps.

Best part of the episode

Godric was good this episode but Eric was fucking awesome in multiple facets, cracking a smile and being the bad ass. Great lines tonight as usual with Eric telling Sookie to not use words he doesn't understand and Jason with his heaven is inside Sarah line.
So many good lines in this one.

I loved every minute of this episode. Good through and through. Their best one yet imo as so many people have said

I think Maryanne's storyline is actually one of the more interesting ones currently. Her voodoo magic differs from the vampire storyline and I really find it quite interesting. Plus that actress is just made to play it. Really good. Everyone saying it wasn't advancing it, the heart eating and pure perversity of that entire sequence had my full attention. so good.

Also really dug the godric/vampire with awareness/compassion angle. Really all kinds of awesome.

and couple that was an awesome ending... just wow.

Its not that simple. I think you have to be elected for those positions.

Monarchies aren't usually elected. They are taken with strength. Since vampires are stronger the older they get, it makes sense to me that the Queen would be very old, and very strong. Godric likely doesn't want the power, but as was stated he could take it if he wanted it.

She might be more powerful, but that doesn't mean she is physically stronger. Being powerful can come from getting others to do what you want. The Queen might just be extremely motivated and persuasive. I don't think she has to necessarily be the strongest person in the room.

I can't wait for Sookie to get back home and realize that Maryanne's screwing with her best friend.

I think Maryanne's been working on Tara to ultimately get Sookie. And then Bill's due to get involved, and Maryanne can finally get a worthy opponent. And if Bill can't handle her, Eric can come help.

And if Eric can't handle her, the almighty Gordich will sense it and come to protect his offspring. Maryanne will BURN! God I hate her and that whole storyline.

Can't wait to see what happens!

just realized that my cable company has either mistakenly given me HBO for free w/o noticing or they want me to subscribe to the channel and are giving me a trial run for a number of months. Either way, they never notified me of HBO in the package or not in the package that I am paying for, so I no longer have to watch it online.

Where do you watch it online?

In the preview they show Lafayette trying to talk to Tara and asking if she's even in there. I think he'll get attacked and Eric will sense it and come to check it out. Then all hell will break loose.

The final episode will be Maryanne vs Godric. I hope. I want to see some serious power being unleashed....
Maryanne is like a force of nature or a god, Godric is just a vampire. He'd be destroyed in seconds.

Jason was absolutely awesome in this episode. I absolutely love the way everything goes over his head. :lol His scene at the start was hilarious. :D

looks like jessica is going to end up either killing or breaking up with hoyt. perma virgin!

anyone think it was weird when the guy said "godric, it's me" and he immediately got killed? thats classic double cross type stuff

also, i'm surprised that bloody soufle looked so good, with all the BLOOD pouring all over the table. i've been done with eggs/tara since eggs showed up. tara had a pretty good character for awhile, but ugh.

Yeah, I loved when he gave that little talk to Jason ... then cracked the smile :lol It's obvious he doesn't really give a shit, and thinks Jason is okay (for a human) ... and was just fucking with him.

My favorite moment was his southerner impression in the church. :lol

If she's gonna burn, there's no way Bill and Eric will be able to do it. Godrich would be the only one with a chance, as he's old enough to basically be a demi-god.

She's not a god, that was just Daphne trying to impress her power onto Sam in the only way most humans can grasp that sort of concept.

That said, I assume she's insanely powerful. However, I get the impression in this world that Vampires as old as Godrich basically ascend to a level of a demi-god. If anyone has a chance, it would be him.

Tara was an awesome character last season. She is shit this season. I'm getting real sick of this whole Maryanne business. It's dragged on too long.

So from what I gather, eating the heart of a shape shifter allows supernatural strength in ordinary humans.

Yeah ... that was great too!

Not just the voice, but the mannerisms. I love how is eyes were kind of wide ... it reminded me of seeing how Mike Judge looks when he's doing some of his voices :lol

KILL HIM! KILL THE MUTHAFUCKA!:lol

Great episode, Sadly I don't think godric will last long though. He looks to me like a vampire that's tired of his existence. I think he will end up sacrificing himself. Sucks cause he's by far the most interesting vampire they've introduced yet.

They do, which is why Eric is stronger than Bill and Godric is stronger than Lorena.

This was probably the best True Blood episode ever!

they actually get physically stronger over time? was that said at some point?

Yeah she may not be a god. But she is on another plane than vampires. She's a demon spirit so to speak. And that is a step higher than Vampire as it cannot be killed just suppressed.

Uhh, thats a fact in Vampire lore. In any vamp story. It's like a fascited aspect similar to how vampires cant come inside unless you invite them in.

How are you getting this? Have you read the books?

I'm not so sure that's true. Based on mythology, even gods can be killed ... and she isn't a god.

Similarly, Godrich is not a regular vampire. It's possible she is way more powerful than him, but it's also possible she isn't. The show really hasn't impressed just how poweful Vampires can become. The dude is older than Christ. He's amogst the oldest in the world, so until more is shown ... it's hard to judge just what he's capable of.

Even moreso than Godric. Shooting the preacher in the head, the bro hug with Bill, His dialouge with Eric. I wasn't a fan with dumber than a sack of hammers Jason before but he was hitting it out of the park this episode. AND HE KEPT HIS SHIRT ON THE ENTIRE EPISODE!

You have to understand what a maenad is. Wiki or google it...

But its still possible that she is possessed as well. And her physical body might can be killed.

I said the creature she represents isnt a God. But she is considered older than Vampires. May or may not carry weight against a Vamp but it sure does a number on shape shifters.

I'm just saying, we don't know how powerful Godrich and her really are. Her being older doesn't automatically mean anything. Vampires get more powerful, relative to other vampires, as they age. That doesn't necessarily apply for Maenads

"That sumbitch, it's like he sucked out my brain and planted all his own babies in there"

And the following lines, haha! Jason is condensed glory.

Good episode. I don't care for any part of the Maryanne subplot, but the main story is still great, entertaining stuff. I'm a little sad that we only have a handful of episodes left in the season.

Best episode of the series for me, I'm getting real tired of the Tara thing and Godric is sheer awesomeness. :D I hate having to wait a week for the next episode, has there been a single episode that didn't end on a cliff hanger?

Also, the eternal virgin thing is great, I'm sure most of us thought that was going to happen but for them to actually go with it in the show...epic.

I wasn't aware that Greek mythology had Vampires in them or their relative power compared to them. :lol
