Not a bad episode, but not great. Jason is on fire right now, him and lafayette may be the best characters on the show. I don't like how they portrayed Eric flying, but I can get past that. Also I'm not a big Evan Rachel Wood fan, especially as the queen, I feel like she's not right for the part.

.

I think she will get better, she was just a little stiff and overacted the part a bit.
Once the character becomes a bit more menacing, I think she will come across a lot better.

Damn...so at $6 a drink it better be tasty.

It's 16 for a 4 pack which is ridiculousssss. My girlfriend and her sisters are the ones that got me into the show and they're throwing a season finale sort of gathering, they ordered some so we all get to try it. I think they got a couple 4 packs and it was just a ridiculous amount of money.

See that's her in EVERY movie. She seems like a stage actress, just very over the top. You can tell she's acting, it breaks the illusion for me. She has the look, but not the voice or ability, hopefully I'm wrong.

Yeah from what I saw this episode I don't like that actress at all, not pulling it off remotely.

Other than that this episode was awesome, and hillarious.

Eric in a dress.

Eric: "Good night tiny humans..." *flies away*

awesome.

Yeah, I thought Rachel Wood was a better actress than what I saw in the last episode. Lafayette on the other hand deserves an award. One of the most interesting character's I've seen on television in awhile. The first season I thought he was just going to be another stereotypical flamboyant gay character that TV loves to throw in there but he is so much more than that now. Is the character as good in the books as he is on the series?

So... will the use Pam instead as sacrifice so she leave?
Is actually Eric in to selling V, or did he just take Bill's threat as a lie he would pull?

Find out in next weeks True Blood.

Eric has been using Lafayette to sell V.

I actually liked the Queen, and how she criticized both humans and maenads in the same breath, even if vampires are just as apt to the same sorts of errors. :P

Jason, Andy, and Sam are the only characters I've ever enjoyed on this show. Why are so many of you guys crazy about Eric? He's probably the worst character on the entire show, and it doesn't help that he's a vampire. All of the vampire characters are boring. I can agree with Lafayette being awesome though.

I hope I didn't sound too critical, because I really do like the show, but I'm just wondering if I'm crazy or not after seeing all of the ragging on Jason and praising of Eric over the last few weeks in this thread.

Haven't watched last nights episode but just needed to say that lask weeks episode was by far the worst episode of True Blood from either season.

So fucking terrible.

This whole Sam as an offering thing is getting old and I want Eggs (and that whole storyline) to be gone so Tera can go back to normal.

Bring on the Werewolves please :)

I thought last week's episode was great, definitely much better than this week's.

Yeah the site says ships Sept 28th...so looks like I am out of luck.

The episode before that
(Godrick seeing the sun)
was amazing. Probably my favorite episode of the entire series.

Last weeks episode (by comparison or otherwise)...just horrible.

Really?
I was laughing when Godric turned into ash on the rooftop.

Hells yes, can't wait to see different creatures. As long as they aren't crazy near invisible ones like Mary Ann...

God I love Tara.
I don't know what Sookie would do if she didn't have any female friends on the show.
Seriously? She's fucking retarded. DID YOU EVEN SEE LAST NIGHTS EPISODE? I wanted to reach into the TV and strangle her and her dumbass mom.

IMO this season has been losing a bit of steam near the end. The last two episodes have been mostly campy filler which would be okay during mid-season, but not at the tail end.

There's been some fun moments (especially with Jason & Andy) but it's just not building up that excitement/tension that it should - Tara was basically reset back to where she was, Sookie laid on the floor half the episode, Bill was just chilling with the queen poolside… and the two week break kinda makes that even more annoying.

English motherfucker, do you speak it!?

I don't understand the Tara hate. She's the most real character on the show besides Lafayette. It's obviously annoying that she's connected to the Maryanne storyline but that's just about done anyway. Then we'll have a double dose of our bitchy, sometimes angry... not putting up with your shit Tara back.

People calling for a character's death... on any show are short sighted and have problems relating to others who are not like them in my opinion. "Oh that storyline is stupid so I hate so and so." Or, "Blah blah, isn't acting the way *I* want them to, they need to die." Go write some crappy fan fiction then.

I pretty much hate Eric right now but you don't see me chanting for someone to stake him. Why? Because I love to hate him.

For the haters when they start yapping.

Can someone refresh my memory? How does Sam know Eric again? I don't recall them meeting or Sam ever being to his bar before.

I must be getting old, memory is the first thing to go, right?

Eric came into Merlotte's in the first season threatening anyone that crossed vampires. I just assumed he figured out that it was Eric and that he is the one that runs Fangtasia.

Can someone explain why Eric is having Lafayette sell V? When it first happened, I thought it was to help catch people that hurt vampires, but now it seems like he just does it for money?

I think it's one of those things we just don't know all the answers to yet.

I mentioned this earlier. Since they decided to wrap up the Dallas storyline early in order to get everyone who'd gone to Dallas in on the ending of the Marianne storyline they've essentially had to build up to two climax episodes. The first was obviously successful, but they haven't been able to find any way to give the characters that were away interesting ways to find out what's going on without boring the audience.

I have no idea how this all worked out in the books, but I think it would have worked out better if they'd have prolonged the Dallas storyline so that both of these threads wrapped up in the finale - or wrapped up in back to back episodes. You wouldn't get as much of the Dallas-bound characters in on the Marianne stuff (if at all), but it certainly would have kept the pace of the ending of the season up. They also could have used Pam and the other guy who's subordinate to Eric in the bar as the main Vampires in the Marianne arc if they really need Vampire assistance, it would have fleshed them out a bit.

god dammit. It took me all day to learn how to make this.

I promise the next one I make will be better quality cuz I know what I'm doing now. (I hope)

Tara has been the worst character on the show since the first episode. her whole attitude is fucking annoying, and it doesnt help that shes always in scenes with her mother, who is just as annoying. i dont love to hate her, i just hate her.

although to be fair, she wasnt pulled off nearly as well as Godric. i dont blame ERW though. the character is just not written the same way as Godric. she doesnt have that all knowing and powerful vibe that i thought she should have.

According to wiki the queen is supposed to be around
500
in the TV. Not sure where that number came from I'm guessing it was mentioned in passing or maybe in the finale. In the books she is
1000+
.

good for you because you're gonna get a shitload more. :lol

Anyone notice that Jason made a reference to World War Z early in the episode last night? "I read a book about this! This is armageddon! This is the oral history of the zombie war!"

That made me chuckle.

Everyone I've introduced to the show immediately hates Tara. Unlike Eric, she isn't a "love to hate" character. She's obnoxious, UNrealistic, and damn it, her accent is horrendous and annoying. Congratulations for liking her so much. I don't really give a shit. :lol

Yeah thought more people would have got that........ wtf at Jason reading a book anyways.

Last 2 eps have been so completely different from the rest of the series so its a little bit of putting but eh, still good.

aw, aren't you special.
everything she's done, every step she's taken is exactly what a victim of abuse would do.
it's real, it's deep and not nearly as shallow as half the cast.
good job on hating though!

Didn't she mention something like 'this boy's blood is clean like back when I was turned...right before the industrial age ruined everyone's blood'?
Not sure she said "right before" or just "before". Obviously the pre-industrial age could mean hundreds or thousands of years.

Someone check the actual phrasing used.

I'm with Kibbles...just because she isn't a 24/7 ray of sunshine, or because she has actual flaws(which are actually understandable given her life) isn't in itself reason enough to "hate" her...even if you don't like her.

She's smart, resourceful and quick on her feet. She was there for Sookie when she was drowning in a house full of the townspeople's faux pity and judgy thoughts after Gran's Funeral...she was there for Sookie when Jason lost his damn mind and slapped her. She was protective of Sookie when Bill first showed up. She was there for Jason when he was a suspect for killing Maudette and during his "reaction" to ODing on V. She, like Lafayette, is able to pierce through the typical BS coming out of most people's mouths most of the time. And despite having every reason having reason to hate her Mother, she still was willing to go out of her way to help her do something she didn't believe in. She had strong feelings for Jason but was self-aware enough to know it couldn't happen, even when his V-induced lust made him notice her.

She had a lot of depth in Season 1...in Season 2 though, she was removed from a lot of her conflicts and personal connections (Home/Mother situation, relationship with Sam, bond with Lafayette, etc), put into the unfamiliar territory of not just comfort and stability, but also luxuary...and her story became intertwined with 2 unknown characters(MaryAnn and Eggs). To me, her reaction to those changes was spot on...open and trusting and hopeful, but still cautious and wondering who these people are and what they're about.

The Tara from Season 1 was a great character. Season 2 she's just a fucking idiot. Her behavior in the last episode solidifies that. She isn't a real character anymore, she's a caricature.

This. I thought Tara was one of the best things season one had going on. Unfortunately in Season 2 all the best scenes were with LaFayette and in Dallas.

No Godric was the oldest vamp in North America, Godric was older than Jesus. Even Eric is older than the queen since he was a viking, and the Queen said she was from just before the time of the industrial revolution.
