Oh wow, didn't know he was directing an episode. Let's see how he does. No pressure Bill!

@ teiresias, I agree in that the scene in the barn with Emma, JD and Martha probably wasn't set up in the best way. Maybe had they shown Emma poking around the barn and JD says something like "come on in" or something similar.

It's like they're having a meeting, Emma's just there and then Martha just pops up out of the blue. I understand the purpose of the scene was to have Martha discover that JD is using V. It just seemed set up a little clumsily.

I also want to know what happened to the vial of V too, I haven't watched the episode since last week.

Another highly entertaining episode, brought down by Terry and the Fairy crap, as usual. I have to say I actually like Vampire Tara.

This is the first season since the first that she has been a good character. She is definitely better as a vampire (the irony).

His character pisses me off a little. He's the oldest known vampire and he's more immature than Bill, or even Jessica. Eric is 1/3 the age Russel is and is much more controlled. Russel doesn't come across as some ancient being... he seems more like a kid in a candy store every time they show him.

I thought the whole point of Russell was that he was a Joker-type character. Powerful, but immature and gleefully murderous. I actually think it makes him a bit more threatening.

That's exactly how he is written to come across and what makes him somewhat non-believable. All the older vampires in the show seem to be controlled and calculating there every move. Their impulses don't get the best of them. Russel, is the oldest of them all and flies by the seat of his pants.

Well in this case, Eric is pretty much only doing the right things because Godric snapped him out of his high. Bill doesn't have a Godric.

Like Eddie said in S1, "We are what we were when we were turned." That's the lore of the show and pretty much any Vampire lore actually. Vampirism is not a cure for being a psychopath.

But there isn't anything in the show that points to boredom being the cause of his actions. Even his buddy Talbot stated several times that he is someone that is constantly going after things, and I think he questioned his behavior.

I don't believe he has any agenda at the moment aside from hanging out with the people who let him indulge in whatever he wants to do at the moment. He may get an agenda, and soon, but at the moment he's just having a hell of a lot of fun.
