I only recently learned what Austin 3:16 meant after seeing Kevin Love wear a shirt of it after winning the finals and its fucking hilarious.
Moments
Backlash 2000
Austin is one of the kings of hype surprise run ins (see also helping foley win the title in 99 and the night before WWF Invasion) but this one, hot damn. Rock's getting crushed by ridiculous odds, Austin arrives for the first time since his injury looking a bit chubbier but he has a chair so it balances out and everyone eats steel.
Rock wins the title arena implodes, then the two biggest stars of the attitude era drink some beer.
.
What were some of your favorite Stone Cold matches?
It would have been interesting if Bret didn't get screwed with his contract. I wonder if Vince would've ever been the biggest heel in the company. I also wonder if Bret was supposed to main event with the Boy Toy at Wrestlemania 14. I'm so glad he didn't.It's crazy to think about if Trips hadn't fucked up with the curtain call, where Austin would be. He probably still would have blown up. He was destined to be GOAT.
I hated the way they treated Booker during the Invasion. I remember being so hyped when that started. They really shit the bed with that whole angle.
I hated when they censored him. I do recall in high school people use to copy that WHAT phrase he kept saying. It was funny teachers be teaching and somebody yells WHAT.
What
hey book...YOU GOT MILK!?!It was all worth it for the supermarket brawl tbh
PRICE CHECK ON A JACKASS
Austin, most likely, saved the WWF from bankruptcy and is an absolute legend in every aspect. His match against Bret Hart at Wrestlemania 13 is easily one of my favorites of all time.
If the MSG Curtain Call incident doesn't happen, then HHH wins KotR and gets his push, no Austin 3:16, and Austin stays in the midcard for at least another year or two. The wrestling business looks a lot different.
It's amazing how much modern wrestling seems to originate from HBK, DX, and his Kliq.
That's the cool thing about learning the inside baseball of it. It's always fun to think about how things would have turned out. Wrestling is full of that stuff. It would have been interesting if Bret didn't get screwed with his contract. I wonder if Vince would've ever been the biggest heel in the company. I also wonder if Bret was supposed to main event with the Boy Toy at Wrestlemania 14. I'm so glad he didn't.

Aw, son of a bitch...
WCW possibly wins.
Hall and Nash created their own defeat 5 years before it happened lol.
Was NWO formed a week later?
Pretty clear that both -- King of the Ring and Bret Hart -- were instrumental in Austin's meteoric rise, daddeh.![]()
People talk about King of the Ring making Austin, bullshit. Bret Hart made Austin. That feud was a masterpiece, and their Mania Match was one of the greatest matches of all time.

Man. 20 years. Amazing.2 weeks later
If you put the letter "S" in front of "Hitman", you have my exact opinion of the thread starter.
