[Ubi-Conf] Watch_Dogs Announced (Video/screens added) [Up: Xbox 360/PS3/PC]

I'm really curious to see a release date and I would love if this game could run like that on PS3. I want to believe, specially after watching The Last of Us demo.

It's confirmed running on the PS3 internally at Ubisoft apparently, but they haven't shown any console version for obvious reasons most likely.

Thanks, my Laptop is only good to support indie devs and small games. I do have a PS3 & 360 so my best hope is the game to run fine on the PS3.

The last bit with the traffic jam and gas explosion, hopefully that isn't scripted and there are dynamic crashes and instances.

Ubisoft decided to split the demo into 3 files, but it's almost all there, in much better quality than youtube:

Wow!! Finally a game akin to Deus Ex where I get impart justice on corrupt powerful individuals. Bravo! I am hoping that the full game can follow through on their promises.

Also, dat grafics! Magnifique! I thought for a moment that the conversation between Adrian and gun dealer was pre rendered! Stupendous lighting. Has a vibe of Cryengine 3.

Is it using Cryengine?

If you have a capable PC why would getting this on wii u even be an option?

Because i dont like to play games on PC

PS3 it is i guess. Unless the first entry of this new IP turns out as boring as the first AssCreed. Then I'll wait for the far superior sequel

I'm a 360/PS3 fan myself so I'm very interested in seeing how this is going to run on those machines. I'm also a realistic person too, so I know that there isn't a chance in hell they will look like that gameplay demo.

Mighty impressive by today's consoles standards, but below what I would expect from a next-gen game. Either way, the setting and the potential possibilities, coupled with some amazing gun fights make it one of my two games of the show so far; the other one being TLOU.

I'm still expecting this to come out for the next gen consoles

If its really 360 and PS3 at the end, im expecting a WiiU version also (because is as capable as those two), but im not holding my breath up.

Maybe next year ubisoft decides that they have move this game only to next gen consoles becuase they say they need more power to transmit their vision or something like that.

I dont mind because I will play it on my PC.

Cant believe I am just now seeing this video.
The switch into gameplay in the beginning of the video made my jaw drop. And the sound! Holy crap that sound design is amazing.

Yeah, because hooking it up to your TV with a controller is so disgusting, fuck PCs.
I'm personally more put off by all the technical issues that can happen. Like wrong drivers. I remember posts like this during the BF3 release

So fucking annoying I can only play 15 minutes or so, then freeze. Release new drivers nVidia dammit!
Also do I not want to worry "will it really run like this on my pc?" whenever I see a trailer.

On consoles you usually get what you see. That's sometimes good, sometimes bad, but at least I know.

So you didn't have issues, you read other peoples issues? Updating a driver takes less than 10 minutes and is no hassle. Stuff like this is only a problem if you want it to be. Plus games rarely have driver issues, more like BF3 is the only game I can remember in the last few years.

I play games on my pc and monitor. Moving my pc which is also my work computer to the living room would be pretty annoying.

That said, I just hooked up a wired 360 controller to pc. Fuck it's nice seeing darkstalkers run at 60 fps + :)

Might have been mentioned, but I like the "Person of Interest" level of technology interaction the character has. Able to hack phones, screw with traffic signals, get instantaneous information on anyone.

Oh, I had lots of issues with my PC games back in the 90s.

Maybe that has changed overall by becoming more comfortable, but I see no real reason to go back and find out if that's true.

+ I tried playing some Diablo 3, and while technically it should still work on lowest settings on my pc, it doesn't. And I just don't have the nerves to find out why.

Ambition of this scale always impresses me. It's a bit like Deus Ex, but set in a sandbox and with even more options available to you. Not to mention those incredible graphics and all that attention to detail.

Where the hell did this game come from.

holy fucking shit i was so busy this week i only checked the microsoft and sony conference out.

DAMNNNNN THIS LOOKS GOOD.

this is def a game i would buy 2 high end cards for in a year or 2.

im sure my 2 6950's wont be able to handle this on max.

any speculation about a release date in 2013 or something?

it looked so finished and ready, no way this is 2014 right?

I wouldn't be surprised if what we saw is more of a proof of concept than an actual game.

There is just so much to laud here.
1) The multiplayer concept is fresh and brilliant. It's like open-world GTA IV multiplayer but with an emphasis on investigation and communications control--a tinge of Heavy Rain Norman Jayden vibe.
2) The graphics are unbelievable. I couldn't believe how everything was going on and the facial animation was so enchanting.
3) The game brings new ideas to the table and seems to execute them well. There's a variety of different communication control options and they all seem to have a fleshed out purpose in missions.
4) The voice acting is nice.

There's not a single thing in the demo that I felt was an unnecessary or badly executed aspect of the game. Just holy crap. I want this immediately! This is how you do a demo! And everything looked like it was in a state that could be released tomorrow and sold!

This was definitely the most impressive game of the show, but rewatching it there is so much that just doesnt seem right. There were way too many custom situational animations for a real game. The bar scene looked so real because people were turned or sitting in a very natural way that you would see in a bar. But no animation engine would know how to do that, it would have to be done by hand. So much custom dialog from people in the streets and bar. The cars crashing just happened too perfectly as well. Is it possible his car could miss other cars in the collision? Probably scripted and maybe if you dont trigger the lights it's mission failed, or maybe you have to go to an alternate spot on the other side of the club to kill him.

But how much of a city could they have all of these custom situations, dialog, and animations for? It's not a matter of if the hardware can handle it, it's a matter of how many man hours it takes to put all of this stuff in. Taking everything together into consideration there is a lot about this gameplay trailer that doesn't feel right.

Felt exactly the same way. Seems to offer a lot of possibilities but I'm not sure how many we'll actually get.

the only way i would accept multiplayer in this is if it was like Demon's Souls, instead of multiple players occupying the same city/sapce at the same time.

are there no interviews from any of the gaming media outlets with the developers?

Yep, we're definitely being Killzoned. Moreover, knowing Ubi Montreal's recent history Watch Dogs will be a proof of concept that isn't a good game with Watch Dogs 2 being the real deal.
