Ubisoft E3 2014 Press Conference Thread

I had a great time playing CS;Go's ranked mode, and there was at least some communication and teamwork when I played that. Hopefully the new Rainbow Six can pull of something like that.

It really seems like a "next-gen" Counter-Strike to me.

Really well paced conference. AssCreed was impresive with so many people there and all that.

And Valiant Hearts looks really good. I'm buying this game for me PS3 (instead of waiting for Vita like Child of Light) because I think my father will really enjoy it. Really touching trailer.

That Rainbow Six Siege game looks quite good too. Especially the destructible enviroments.

I think it has been the best conference overall.

Man you know that shit was over the top. I liked the look of the game though, always hate the pre recorded conversations though.

Sure it was a bit over the top, but people here are pretending that teamwork never happens. Sure, if you jump into random games it won't but if you have a group of friends to play with, it is not far from reality.

At least they've all been entertaining so far.

MS brought gamez gamez gamez.

EA was laughably hilarious despite the near no shows by their actual big games (hello 2016 Mass Effect 4 and Battlefront)

Ubi was a bit of column 'A' with stuff like the Rainbow 6 and a bit of column 'B' with the fitness/dance stuff.

MS: B+/-A
Ubi: C+
EA: D

I think Ubi spent too much time on the dance games, I enjoy them, but it doesn't look like anything new was really added!

This is why Ubi gets a C+ from me. Rainbow Six was such a known quantity, Michael Pachter guessed it. Would've gone hard after Valiant Hearts, which still hasn't shown a real representation of it's gameplay.

UBIsoft mp convo:

"Okay, we're going to breach the wall at the same time you breach the door and I get the guy on the left and you take out the 2 on the right."

*KABOOM*

"Good job, we neutralized the threats."

Actual real player convo:

"FUCK DUDE, BLOW THAT SHIT UP NOW"

"NO WAIT I'M NOT RE..."

*KABOOM*

"LEEEERRRRROOOOOOOOYYYYYYYY JEEEEEEEEEEENNNNNNKIIIIIINNNNNNS!!!!!"

"WHAT THE HELL DUDE? YOU GOT EVERYONE KI..."

"YOU PIECE OF SHIT YOU DIDN'T GO IN ASSHOLE!"

It was less offensively boring than EA's conference, but still incredibly pedestrian and safe for the most part. Wasn't helped by segments of utter cringe-worthy antics like the dancers on the stage and lots of Tyler's overbearing presenting. Zero bombshells.

3/10

Best conference so far, Aisha killed it. It was a hot mess but an entertaining mess.It had more tonal shifts than a news show that goes from the weather report to genocides in five minutes.

Eargrating chatter and boneheaded tactics of the player aside, the Terrerists vs SWAT game theme is a nice one. Not this particular version, will wait for the actual game. I don't trust this in the least.

Conference ranking update time: Almost everything was CG or at least heavily scripted, but it was quite a bit more geared towards my gaming tastes, so this is clearly better than the EA conference by default. Plus, there was some live gameplay, so that's nice to have as well
- even if I don't trust Ubi that this was really a live game, or even relatively untouched multiplayer gameplay. Will wait for release. Even for the adorable WW1 thingamabop that's right up my alley in theming and artwork.

Unity looks graphically fantastic. Damn.

I have never played any of the Rainbow Six games, but the new one looks very promising.

Bring dat WW1 (Valiant Hearts), day one.

6/10.

EA: 2/10, MS: 7/10

Sony better deliver some bombs.

That conference wasn't up to my E3 standards, just like MS's and EA's. Way too much CGI, almost nothing new.

Please don't fuck this up, Sony
Don't expect much. We know for certain that a lot of devs like Media Molecule, Guerilla Games and Quantic Dream won't show up at all. It's probably Uncharted, Order, DriveClub and Project Beast. Maybe one more surprise announcement, but that's likely it.

Rainbow 6 looked nice. Multiplayer is probably not for me, as I am usually a loan wolf and would just do what I want.

Assume it has single player?

So, Beyond Good and Evil 2, Prince of Persia, and Trackmania are all dead now? I guess that's the cost of new IPs like Watch Dogs, the Crew and Division, but still a little sad to see those go. New IP or not, those dead franchises are a lot more unique than these new ones they're giving us.

Ubi's conference was ok. I liked Aisha Tyler's attitude as a host, and I appreciate her enthusiasm .
I also liked Valiant Hearts and AC, but that's about all I cared about in terms of content. I'm incredibly tired of shooters, so the Division doesn't interest me.
At least it was better than EA's...thing.

Don't get how anyone can rank EA above Ubisoft.

Ubisoft had dramatic CG trailers, yeah, but at least their conference was consistent. EA's conference was a giant Dev diary video with concept footage shown.

If I'm in an objective based lobby and my team members are spouting half decade old memes, I'm dropping.

Throw in some racist/sexist remarks and you'll be spot on.

Michael Pachter guessed it... about 10 minutes before the conference.

I am suspicious.

Ubisoft was pretty much just "as expected". Unity looks solid, but still "just AC". The Division is losing me with the more I see. Valiant hearts looks touching - but I still don't understand what that game is. 5/10.

That's why you play with friendly well know humanoids.
