Ubisoft E3 2014 Press Conference Thread

Don't expect much. We know for certain that a lot of devs like Media Molecule, Guerilla Games and Quantic Dream won't show up at all. It's probably Uncharted, Order, DriveClub and Project Beast. Maybe one more surprise announcement, but that's likely it.

Well, fuck. This year has been terrible compared to the previous one.

I don't know, Ubisoft's conference was kind of crap in my opinion. Not as bad as EA but not far off.

Far Cry looks nice but they didn't show much.
Assassin's Creed is...well, Assassin's Creed. Giving that game 10+ minutes of the conference is tiresome at this point even if I am excited to play the game.
I'm excited for The Division but honestly the story related stuff is of no interest to me so the trailer didn't do much.
Rainbow Six did nothing for me and the fake combat chatter just makes it less desirable. It also just comes across as really generic.
The Crew looks okay but I could take it or leave it.
Fitness and dance games were junk and I'm still thoroughly confused as to why they both got that much time on stage.
Valiant Hearts looks fantastic at least so that was probably the highlight for me.

I mean, they only announced three new games, two of which were the dance and fitness games. It was just incredibly underwhelming when we're STILL waiting for something, anything, about Beyond Good and Evil. No Prince of Persia sucks too. I'm guessing they were counting on a huge amount of hype about Rainbow Six and riding it out like they did with Watch Dogs and are doing with The Division. Sadly, to me, it just didn't look that good. Ubisoft needs to do more.

FarCry looks like more of the same.
Hated the CG in Unity, game itself looks really good.

Couldn't care less with Just Dance, The Crew and Shape Up.

FUCK YEAH R6.

I can live with the F-bombs and overall tone of the presentation.

What happened to the Ass Creed Comet?

Damn, Ubi in the lead thus far with conference quality/excitement? Yikes... It's up to Soony and ninty.

Not sure what to think of that new R6 yet.

I thought UBI conference was great.

I mean those multiplayer sessions with the dialogue and staged gameplay are always awkward but still fun to watch.

Also AC CGI trailers are always godly ( except 4 )

I know everyone has an opinion, but there is no way MS's conference is anything below a C+/B.

I give the outlook of XBO's library a B+/A-, but the conference itself was exceedingly boring and hard to watch for me.

Wrong revolution.

No way, Just Dance and Shape Up killed the conference for me. Hell, even Rainbow Six felt too fake for me to love it.

EA announced games last year and then showed dev diaries and concept footage for all of those games. Even the sports trailers felt faked or CGed. Ubisoft showed off actual games, games that aren't in their infancy stages.

Doesn't matter if the conversations in the Rainbow Six video were fake as fuck, the game itself is promising.

Microsoft: B-
EA: D-
Ubisoft: B-

Pretty good E3 so far. The only con was EA's conference. Ubisoft really stunned me with Rainbow Six Seige. That game reminds me of Counter Strike (or at least the mode they were playing). which isn't a bad thing. It also looked great. Far Cry 4 looked great as well. Don't have much to say about ACUnity, I'm just not interested.

I also must say, that Ubi's was the most entertaining. The push-up contest made me laugh, and the fitness step thing as well. Also, Aisha Taylor once again was fun to watch. Especially when compared to the other boring hosts.

I set myself up to get disappointed, but even then there was little gameplay demos. Rainbow Six looks like a great mix of Rainbow Six, Counter Strike and SWAT.

MS B
EA D
UBI C/D

Microsoft: They at least had the highlights of third parties and a line-up of their own titles, even if a lot of it was CG.
EA: Their conference was basically "We only have two games ready to show that our target audience cares about so here's a bunch of super early prototypes." Dragon Age's demo was extremely short, so really they basically had a Battlefield demo for their entire conference.
Ubisoft: Very cutscene heavy. Several off-target games, but they did at least have two demos that were on target (Assassin's Creed and Rainbow Six), which is more than EA's one.

Microsoft: "You will play these impressive looking games on PC"

EA: "We got nothin. Come back next year"

Ubisoft: "Pray like hell these turn out looking this way on release"

Alternatively:

MS: Everything was co-op
EA: Everything was nothing
Ubisoft: Everything was CG

Microsoft - B, not interested in Xbone still but they managed to show some neat games. Well, cg trailers of neat looking games.
EA - F, I missed the battlefront thing and everything else was either garbage I don't care about or too early to say either way.
Ubisoft - B+ Valiant Hearts looks amazing and the trailer almost made me tear up. Will buy. RAINBOW SIX YESSSSSS. They could've just showed Rainbow Six and I would've given them the same grade.

RAINBOW SIX!!!

Ubisoft easily beats EA, if only becasue Ubisoft showed ACTUAL GAMES. Stuff out this year. They only had one "conceptual" trailer, and that at least resembled a playable product (staged or not).

One of our proven ubi insiders said there are two ac games this year before anyone else and that one of them is dd only iirc, can't find it now. At this stage, AC Comet must be a very low key title that they're not showing at all and it's coming this year that is... with that said there is no way Unity can sell 12-13m units like the games before so I like to know what's up there, it would look pretty bad on their annual sheet. probably expecting fc and watch_dog to compensate for it.

Unity does look nice visually, very nice in fact.

I am thinking Sony's conf. will be a let down. Getting bad vibes about it but I hope I am very wrong.

I honestly expected MS to bring a lot more after all the talking and rumours. Well now I don't have to buy a XB1, so that's good I guess.

They did bring a lot... that I'll be playing on PS4. Beyond that it's clear they showed some.things too early just for the sake of padding out their lineup. No X1 for me this year more than likely.

Next year they're just going to focus on the games announced today, while announcing games even more in the future, so there's plenty of time
