Not even close to what Watch Dogs is doing.
Really. Show me.
Not even close to what Watch Dogs is doing.
Someone explain to me how Second son runs at native 1080p at above 30fps most of the time and looks significantly better than Watch dogs, yet UbI is struggling to run this game at 1080p.
is it due to UbI incompetence as a developer? surely its not because of the game pushing technical boundaries as Second Son looks miles better and its an open world game.
You are stuck on that bridge and only walk forward here.

I'm a sad Panda . Is this the first PS4 game at sub-1080p?
The fact that after all this time on this forum, and as a gamer, you have to have it spelled out is damning. Come on, man!Really. Show me.
I wonder if my GTX 580 could do 1080p/30fps. May just cancel PS4 and go PC instead
next gen....still not HD
Hey, Shahid promised we'd hear 1080p 60fps a lot, he never once said games would run at that res/speed
Sucker Punch only had the PS4 to worry about. They made the game just for that console. Multiplatform spreads resources around.
Assassin's Creed was 1080p and 30fps, but Watch Dogs even amidst all the downgrade controversy looks quite a bit better than that not to mention a cityscape is probably doing quite a bit more than the naval sea.
Exclusives are always the biggest showstoppers for a console for a reason.
Really. Show me.
PS4 has been maintaining a nice 1080p streak. Although it wouldn't surprise me one bit if devs slowly started pushing more graphical effects and richer worlds instead of pushing pixels.next gen....still not HD
Watch Dogs seem to be doing a lot more simulation than Infamous is doing. A lot more pedestrians/vehicles and the wind effects for example could make Watch Dogs a heavier game to run.Someone explain to me how Second son runs at native 1080p at above 30fps most of the time and looks significantly better than Watch dogs, yet UbI is struggling to run this game at 1080p.

It is... just not Full HD or whatever. These are all just marketing terms anyway to try to get people excited (4K has also been branded Ultra HD) but what consistency there is generally defines 720p as just "HD" and Watch Dogs surpasses that. I don't think any game on PS4/XB1 dips below 720p actually unless you want to count Mercenary Kings which would be kind of bullshit given it's going for a pixel art style, but THAT would genuinely irritate me since I want 720p to be the bare minimum now.next gen....still not HD
Yes. Just a narrow corridor brawler.
Well it's not as if they're doing much better with GDDR5 and 32 ROPS...
A corridor with nice backgrounds?
I'm not sure they delayed it for technical issues.
It was probably due to content. If the game went against GTAV back in 2013 lacking in content it would have been a bloodbath.

The point for a lot of people is that it really calls into question the technical ability of the developers. If they can't reach 1080p on PS4 why should we even trust them to reach 30fps? I'm not one to blindly reward mediocrity. What blow my mind is people actually not buying a game because it's 900p and not 1080p. I thought GAF was a place consisting of hardcore gamers who put gameplay in front of graphics. Reading this thread, I guess not.
The significance is that it's not 720p so that MS can save face.
If Ryse can manage 900p then most of these games should be able to. It's down to the talent of the developers.
Here's hoping.I know GAF has pretty much written the game off with this news, but what're the chances that Ubisoft patch in upgraded visuals like they did with Assassin's Creed?
Don't forget that Infamous is an exclusive title were as Watch Dogs is a title that appears on 6 platforms.
It's all foreground.
What is your point. There is still a ton of geometry being rendered here.
No. Black flag was the same. It's a ubisoft thing.
Because they dropped 1080p in order to reach a playable framerate (30fps)?The point for a lot of people is that it really calls into question the technical ability of the developers. If they can't reach 1080p on PS4 why should we even trust them to reach 30fps? I'm not one to blindly reward mediocrity.
If it turns out it still looks great and the gameplay is awesome I might still bite, but I'm losing confidence in this game every time I read about it.
Only the multiplayer doesn't run at 1080p.Killzone SF?
1920x800 I believe.What's the resolution for The Order 1886? 900p or 800p
as time goes on, the resolutions will go down.
Ryse is but a linear as lines tech demo with nothing to show in terms of gameplay and scale. It's like saying, "show me the difference between Temple Run and GTA."Really. Show me.
U am not sure if you are kidding or not but did you read what you wrote? So ms made ubi make it more than 720 p to save face? This is just too much now.....
Er...did you actually play Ryse?
It is a better looking game, but its also much MUCH smaller in scope.
I'm a sad Panda . Is this the first PS4 game at sub-1080p?
Just think to yourself, if Infamous SS had shipped at 900p 30fps; what do you think that thread would have looked like?Out of curiosity, didn't Ryse get absolutely murdered by people for only being 900p 30fps?
Im guessing that was because it was only on one platform as opposed to multiple?
There's a long history here as to why we are complaining please don't make it so superficial as in like we all just collectively said "ewwwww sub 1080p! Pre order cancelled next gen confirmed". I'd say the grand majority have put a bit more thought into it. The outliers do not represent a crowd. What blow my mind is people actually not buying a game because it's 900p and not 1080p. I thought GAF was a place consisting of hardcore gamers who put gameplay in front of graphics. Reading this thread, I guess not.
That's it i'm out.
