wtf? thrown fight? he had him beat. BEAT. and he walked away and never even tried to finish it. bullshit

EDIT:
no, i dont really think the fight was thrown

Rashad morphed back into his early form. He needs to figure out how to mix his boxing with his wrestling instead of relying heavily on one or the other.

The dude stopped pressing the attack and was dancing, couldn't have been too gassed.

He couldn't keep his hands up

Rampage vs Rashad is gonna be terribly boring.

Gonna be a wrestlefest

all of evans fights are boring as shit. really good card aside from the main event

Nah. He had some good fights, but now, if he's going back to his wrestling roots, it's back to "boring as shit".

This. Plus either pack on some muscle or drop down to 185. He's too small as it stands right now.

Rampage is going to DESTROY Rashad.

BOOK IT!
Only if Rashad doesn't leg kick. Rampage hates leg kicks, lol.

bullshit. even throwing some sloppy punches would have put suga away. but he didnt even try. what a stupid asshole

If you can't freakin throw a punch.. you aint going to finish a guy whos covering up.

Its not like he knocked him down and walked away

Just saw this in IRC (probably old):

please. we have all seen guys clearly ten times as gased still throwing down. he didnt even fucking try. what, did he think that exchange was going to erase the other 13 min of the fight in which he was getting completely dominated?

Not sure what he expected to happen facing off with a one armed one dimensional fighter standing like that.

I saw the fight preview, he talked about his improved standup and I guess he wanted to pretend it would get the respect of a guy that had no respect for anything he offered.

He should have ran around the cage like a sissy, then shot at the dude's legs and worked his silly pretzel magic.

Weird seeing these guys in the same weight class, they look so different.

I don't think people give Rashad enough credit. Yes he can be really boring (like this fight) but he does tend to do whatever he has to do in order to win. That's the end game with all of this. And the only fight that he really looked bad in was against Machida. I think that if he actually goes in wanting to throw down with Rampage then he could take him. If he's scared like he clearly was against Machida then he's going to be featured in many photoshops.

About the furthest from "completely dominating" as Rashad could possibly be while still winning the rounds.

i did miss round 2 as my computer rebooted right after the first, but i did see the recap of round 2 and it looked like more of the same. what i saw in round one was rashad getting take downs one after another with silva doing very little to score any points of his own. looked like domination to me, he had silva out of his game and he was definitely controlling the fight.

*shrugs

Its very annoying to see the fighter that caused no damage win...

Yeah I hate when they make these take-downs and then do nothing with it. Silva probably goes home feeling like someone who just ran a marathon. off course he had the chance to finish the fight.

Also I thought Evans said he was going to KO Silva for beating Jardine? Looked like that was never the strategy, but hey another win for him.

Overall I thought it was a pretty nice event with a somewhat boring main event and an Yvel I expected a lot more from.

I'm waiting for my chance, I'm waiting for my chance, you guys won't believe my superior abilities once this guy gives me a chance, watch this here's my chance, I'm going for the win, just kidding I think I'll dance around.

SAM STOUT, YES. LONDON ONTARIO, REPRESENT! :D

That was a crazy fight. When Sammy got taken down right away and Joe caught that Kimura, I thought it was over. Then Stout squeezes out and rallies to dominate the rest of the fight. Gotta find him some KO power though.

I thought Evans/Silva should have been a draw, could have given Silva a 10-8 for round 3, though he certainly did slack off far too much. Disappointing to see that Rashad did nothing after his takedowns.

Impressed with Daley and Dos Santos, but still need to see them challenged by wrestlers.

Sam Stout vs Takanori Gomi

DO IT DANA

Me Likey.

I watched it at a Bar and I really liked it.
I have no grief for the way rashad won, although I was wondering why he was not trying to HOLD him on the ground and do something.
Good card overall and worth the ridiculous beer prices I paid.

Im really looking forward to the next WEC!

Rampage is going to KO Rashad worse than Machida did.

Depends which rampage turns up. If Jardine can survive 3 rounds and forrest can survive 5. Then it would not surprise me if evans grinds out a decision.

From the Press Conference, via BE:

$50,000 fight-night bonuses:
- Fight of the Night: Sam Stout and Joe Lauzon
- Submission of the Night: Cole Miller
- Knockout of the Night: Paul Daley

No arguments there.

Dana White - "We'll put Daley against Koscheck or Fitch and see what happens".

Nice.

Pretty decent card, glad Ellenberger picked up the W. Pissed at the outcome of the hazelett Daley fight. Sam Stout really upped his game as well, JLau did have a long lay off and a major injury but he'll be back.

Daley vs. Koscheck for the next title shot, let's do this!

Oh I know you guys are calling Gomi/Stout but I'd rather see Pearson/Stout after the amazing boxing clinic that Pearson put on Riley back at 105. I'm certain this would be a barn burner.

- Thiago Silva just pulled a Heath Herring there. What a jackass.

- Pillowfists is back ladies & gentlemen, can't wait for Rampage to crush him.

- Stout looked great but I think Joe coming off of major ACL reconstruction really messed him up, he looked really flat.

- Dos Santos did what Dos Santos does, no surprise there. What was surprising was how hard Rogan was repping for Yvel. Like they were cushioning for the upset or something.

- Hazelett... what the hell? If you're going to stand with Daley, being ramrod straight, planting your feet and having absolutely no head movement at all is not the proper tactic.

- Poor Jensen, made 3 attempts to tap while trying to use the tapping hand to protect his precious precious brain.

or maybe dana is giving out huge bonuses to daley opponents for not trying any takedowns a la kimbo back in the day. that would explain a lot actually. fitchie will rise above though

idk why silva stopped his attack when he had evans on the ropes......that was fuckin stupid.
at least i can :lol that evans actually got baited with his taunting lol.

Just got home from the bar...

MAN what a great fight card, you people who were poo pooing it shall eat your crow now. Against all fucking odds, Dana White and Joe Silva put together an awesome night of fights.

I am firmly in the hate camp now in regards to Rashad however. I can't WAIT for Rampage to knock him out.

Take downs.............. MEH!

Leg kicks................ OMG ROBBED!

Fickle bunch.

Anyways some good fights without the big names but eh, no wrong decisions.

Loved the Stout fight, can't believe he won out after that first round where it looked like he'd be subbed. Luckily his opponent just got completely gassed or he might have been put away there at the end as well.

I absolutely loved the way Silva lost. LOVED it. All that showboating and dancing and for what? Sure, he was able to bait Evans there finally, but that's what having the most punchable mug in UFC will do for you.

Still doesn't matter if you can't put it away. Evans looked exactly like he did when he fought Machida... stunned, on the ropes, just a decent punch away from hitting the mat. I don't know how you can be a fighter and not leap on that opportunity... but I guess when you have the chance to showboat and taunt, you just can't let it slip away.

:lol :lol
