(Referring to the point being taken away) I don't think it mattered, Mir took some of Brock's best shots and he still had his wits about him. Mir was going to get him eventually, no matter what.

I guess Brock won't be facing anymore sub guys for a few fights.

Of course he is gracious in defeat. All the talk he did before the fight was to get buys.

Brock would probably be a bad match up for Tim, Kongo, and anyone else that doesn't have a sub game. Vera would would probably sub him too.

Lesnar was overpowering Mir, but was just sloppily trying to knock him out on his back, not trying to get guard or any position, and Mir just slipped a knee bar in and made him tap.

Pretty much. I thought for a second Lesnar was close to finishing it but he was way too over-eager.

Fight was over! if the ref didnt pause it.

Wow.... this thread usually has GIFs of the fight clips in it. I sure hope you guys come through on this!

That is a crazy finish to that hype.

The entrance music is what did it. ;)

To be fair that was just too much of a good fighter for Lesnar's debut. Even from a business perspective I think they did themselves and Brock a disservice by having Mir be his first fight.

Yeah, Mir was rocked bad and turned his head into the back of Brock's fists... never was an intentional fist to the back of the head.

WTF is that watch on Goldberg. Would look huge wrapped around his forehead. Fugly! :lol

Brock was probably nervous as all hell, got excited, got caught.

If he won, he just smashed a smaller guy and sucks, if he lost he sucks. Don't understand the hate, he should be pretty fun to watch in the future.

I was hoping to see Lesnar take a few punches to the face to see how he would react. I still can't believe what just happened. :lol

He's 1-1.

He owned the dude, just got caught by inexperience.

Uhh no...Brock didn't own anything. It was obvious Mir's strategy was to use Brock's aggressiveness against him and it worked like a charm. Brock will win against some one dimensional strikers, but he will not be a champion anytime soon....

I agree, they should have had him fight another striker. Having him fight a submission master was just stupid.

5 more fights an Brock will be a serious contender. He's big, but isn't a stiff, has power, and has powerful takedowns. Mir set him up that second time. You could see him transitioning into kneebar before Brock even pulled out of the armbar.

That was the impressive thing about Brock, he threw hammer shots so he wouldn't expose his arm to armbars. Pretty smart, but he couldn't get enough power in them to dizzy up Mir.

Provided he doesn't act like a spoiled little twat like every other organization he's dealt with, which is part of where the hate comes from.

This is going to be a boring ME. The best thing Nog could do is sweep and get a sub.

I would lol if Tim actually knocks out Nog.

Brock has plenty of potential, he's just too raw right now. This is was just too high calibre of a opponent for a beginner. He should face several more low level opponents and build up a decent record(like Cung Le) before facing a top flight opponent again.

I'm a MMA Noob but Lesnar had the early advantage, got a dubious point deduction when Mir turned while bein punched. Started messing about in a stationary stance with a experienced Martial Artist instead of going back to smothering him or backing off & allowing his opponent to try to get up. Mir grabbed his ankle & twisted into a Knee bar. Lesnar tapped. Fight Over.

i think the UFC has been burned too many times with cans actually winning, so they're just going straight to big game hunting
