UK 3DS XL Price Roundup

There's a good offer at Game, if you buy the 3DS XL for full price you can trade in your original 3ds within the next 24 hours for £120 cash apparently!

Same deal at Gamestation but for £100 cash.

Good way to transfer over ambassador status etc and get a pretty good deal.

Sold limited edition Zelda Skyward Sword on Ebay and another game separately to two COMPLETELY different buyers. On both accounts, the following happened:

1. Item sold. Buyers send payment through paypal. I withdraw the money to my bank account and send the item. ALL IS GOOD

2. I get an email after two weeks saying that the buyer has put through a dispute on PayPal (item not working). I know they're fucking scamming me, as they're BRAND NEW ITEMS. I put in a counter-claim.

3. PayPal freezes my account.

4. PayPal sides with the buyers. I never hear from them again (lost my items), and my PayPal balance is negative £85.

5. I get debt collection letters and forced to pay.

Hopefully that's cleared up your questions about the wonderful nature of Ebay! I'm far from the only one. It's TOO much of a risk, especially when it's something that's valuable as PayPal NEVER, EVER side with the seller.

Man that sucks, I feel sorry for you.

From Eurogamer:

"GAME has a unique trade-in deal where you can secure a 3DS for just £79.99 when you trade-in an old boxed 3DS model. You even get 24 hours to take your new 3DS XL home and perform a system transfer to save all of your data. The deal lasts until 9th August, and costs no more than GAME's standard price-point: £179.99. You even get a new AC adaptor, too. "

I don't see this anywhere on GAME's official site. Can anyone confirm, because that sounds a great deal? Or is it just store credit...

What were their ranking?
Can you block a sales if it goes to an user with bad rep?

I don't understand why people will still support buying the XL after Nintendo has basically screwed us over by removing an essential piece of kit from the box.

If you buy the XL, you are essentially telling them they can do whatever the hell they want and get away with it laughing.

^ I found the link: http://www.game.co.uk/webapp/wcs/st...d=148256&catalogId=10201&langId&storeId=10151

Still not 100% sure of how we'll be able to retain our original 3DS' games/saves etc though.

Called them up, they say you can transfer in store.

Went into my local on the way home to check.

They have no wifi.

Eurogame seem to think you can take the old 3ds in up to 24 hrs afterwards and get credited somehow? Refund? Who knows....game's website isn't very helpful(what's new?)

Handed in my pre-order deposit at Game this evening, I'm told the system will go on sale Friday for £179.99 [including charger]. I enquired about the trade in deal and was informed I'd have up to two weeks to claim the £100 trade in value on the 3DS.

To be honest I'm almost in disbelief that Game have a competitive deal on offer here.

A lot of us already have a charger and thus don't care, and may even welcome not having more clutter around the house.

Yup, I've got several chargers already so I couldn't care less. A shame for new customers I guess, but not much different than purchasing a memory card for Vita. Nothing worth boycotting over.

I got like, seven chargers mate. They're about 2£ on Ebay, as well

Still don't like the fact it comes with no charger though.
I thin kits an extra $10 or 20 to purchase one.

What? It's like £4.99 for the official charger here in the UK, so there's no way it's $20.

Isnt the £100 in store credit?

thehut.com shipped my Red XL yesterday. Ordered 27.6.2012, cost 152,14gbp (a june -10% code worked at the time). Keeping fingers crossed for getting it early.

Is the cradle going to be available separately? If not then I'll have to buy the adapter/cradle bundle which is quite expensive

Only with the charger it seems. It's kind of shitty, really, the official charger can be had for £6, but the charger + cradle is £20 everywhere... meaning £14 for a lump of plastic. :-/

GAME have two deals going for the 3DS XL tomorrow.

3DS XL + AC Adapter + 1 Game (likely to be from a list of older cheap titles) £199.99

3DS XL + AC Adapter + Any 1 Game £209.99

It seems GameStation has the same deal as GAME: trade in your 3DS to get a 3DS XL and power adaptor for £79.99.

There are also some deals where you can buy a 3DS XL and games like Mario Kart 7 or the new Kingdom Hearts game for £194.99.

I called them over the phone & they said they were ok with it. Might want to call your local & make sure beforehand (both that they have wifi and are ok with it).

All stores just seem to list the same automated, computer based number and can't seem to actually speak to anyone in store. So frustrating.

Does anyone know if the Sainsburys code in the OP is still valid? I wanna get my hands on one of these, but haven't pre-ordered. I'd like a good price.

Amazon Italy https://www.amazon.it/?tag=

£148 basic price. With standard shipping to the UK, it's £153 and with fast two day shipping it's £161.

You are indeed sir! :D

By this time next week my beautiful new baby blue 3DS XL shall have arrived!

Was surprised at how easy it was to order given my Italian language skills are negligible but frequent use of the UK site served me well!

Thanks for all your hard work in saving your fellow GAFers some penies. Much appreciated :).

With the 3DS XL launch less than two weeks away, thought it'd be a good idea to list the various prices and deals around the high street and web.

GAME, Gamestation Retail Stores

£199.99.

Just have to laugh at the Game/GS prices, the whole reason they closed hundreds of stores was because of uncompetitive pricing. Yet they continue.

Where do they even list in-store prices? Without actually visiting the store?

I couldn't tell you - I only work there :p The company is... mismanaged to put it lightly, even down to store level.

It's £179.99 + AC adapter. £79.99 WYT a 3DS or £100 WYT a DSI.

There are some pretty cool official Nintendo cases in store for £9.99 when bought at the same time as the console too.

Nintendo don't make cases... there are only third party offerings. You're easily mistaken as Nintendo licensed stuff is allowed to use all the branding and typography that Nintendo do. Only notification it's third party is often a small PowerA/Hori etc logo at the bottom of the box.
