So, Hawkeye on the left, and Pho-Nax on the right, seem to not understand how their shadows exist in the same universe. The whole picture just kinda, once again, looks like a bunch of seperate images put together, with no knowledge of how to make them mesh together. Maybe it's not finished?
While I really appreciate the sentiment (2 sided covers ARE really great!), this is possibly a stealth "Look how much better Shinkiro is at this than I am!" cover, I tells ya...

Watching the gamespot preview of Iron Fist makes him look fucking amazing.

I didn't know all that much about who the characters were going in, beyond Galactus and Silver Surfer and Thanos, but they give you enough information to figure out what's up.
It kind of blows up the Marvel cosmic stuff and sets up the new status quo, then everything's pretty much continuous story.
If you want to buy/read trades, you're gonna want these:
Annihilation Book 1
Annihilation Book 2
Annihilation Book 3
That gets you everything Annihilation. Beyond epicness.
OR if you like doing the Marvel digital archive subscription thing, you can read in this order:
Annihilation: Prologue
Annihilation: Nova 1-4
Annihilation: Silver Surfer 1-4
Annihilation: Super Skrull 1-4
Annihilation: Ronan 1-4
Annihilation 1-6
and then Annihilation: Heralds of Galactus is kind of an epilogue/tying up loose ends kind of thing.
Then you can jump straight into Nova. It'll be pretty obvious when it goes into the next event, called Annihilation: Conquest. I'll maybe post a reading list for that later.
