Awesome, you'll probably marathon through its awesomeness. It's gory as hell.
 
It only took an anime for people to get into Claymore. I've been telling folks it's a good manga for years, it just needs shading!

the manga is amazing. it sucks that we have to wait a month for a new chapter to come out.

Understatement of the year. :lol

I was surprised folks were following the manga, since everywhere else it was just anime talk left and right and it was killing me. And yes, the month long wait sucks goat sacs, but it's worth it. As a matter of fact, I have a friend who just asked for the manga volumes ever since I told him it existed.
 
Add me to the growing list of fans... I also sat down last night and burned through the first 8 episodes because of this thread, and loved it. The show really starts to pick up after the first couple of episodes, especially when we meet Teresa. Now I'm gonna have to track down the manga.

Glad to see more people becoming fans of this. I've been reading Viz's manga releases since they started almost last year. God its so freaking awesome. The only thing that sucks is that they'll catch up soon, and I'll be stuck waiting for yearly releases like Battle Angel Alita.

Out of curiousity, has he done any volumes before eight? i'd like to have a complete set, and it seems like his sets don't begin with the first chapter.

Edit: Nevermind. Found most of if not all of the volumes on mangatrader.com with a login from Bugmenot. :)

Vol. 1 -8 have been released in the States already. under Viz Shounen Jump Advanced label

Don't even get me started on the long wait between the Last Order books.. :(

I went ahead and ordered vol. 1-8 of the Viz books. I don't enjoy comics as much on the computer, but I'll definitely download the rest when I get through the books.

Looking forward to watching episode 9 tonight, too. :)

Episode 9 was a setup episode. It was decent.

Male Awakened Ones = Male Claymores = Rakim is a Future Claymore

Yeah, they're burning through the story, though I can't even imagine what filler for this would even look like. Oh and Akia...

I think it's definitely a possibility, and one that would bring in a whole truckload of tension.

Wait, how far is the anime through the manga?

I don't get how Rakim being a Claymore would bring tension to the series.

Been watching the show since its first airing and I really like what they are doing with it. Read a couple chapters of the manga way back but I think i will pick it up again.

Yeah, I actually saw it at my local bookstore today.

Typical bookstore serial bullshit - they had multiple copies of volumes 3-7 there but, of course, no volume 1. Same as every other multi volume series I see on the shelves that I'm interested in getting. :lol Bookstores (and my LCBS) always seem lousy at helping me start a series unless I'm willing to jump on in volume 5 or something.

Well, by episode 8, they got to the 5th volume (chapter 24) out of 13. :lol

That's why I said, future events and I should include people in there as well. Right now to you it's be pretty meh, now if it was revealed in one of the newer chapters (amongst other things) then it's a whole other ballgame.

That's not good. The anime is either going to stop early or make up a new ending.

Geez, episode 9 was depressing. It was good, just that I felt bad for Clare.







I can only assume Clare has some sort of special power hidden within her, givenshe has Teresa's flesh.
 
Another GREAT ep!!! Claymore is my show of the season so far!!!
I love that Clare is actually weak and Rakim didn't even know.
 
Wow, I just finished watching episode 8 and that indeed was an excellent episode. My only gripe is that they were showing emotion, Claymore aren't supposed to be able to show emotion are they? I thought that was what made Teresa special?
and I really liked Teresa too :(

I liked the art design from the moment I saw the promotional image. It has a sort of French style to it, especially the female characters. Don't know if that makes any sense though.
 
Wow. I've read up through Vol 13 ch. 72. Wow.

Amazing. So far this is easily up there with Berserk and Gunnm, two of my favorite manga. I love his artwork, too. The translation to anime is good, but I dig the art, too.

Can't wait to see more of the anime. They've really done the manga justice.
 
This show just keeps up the WICKED!!! tempo. I wish all shows were this incredibly awesome!!
It is awesome that Clare is honing her skills specifically for Awakened Ones, but I still need to find out why she wasn't eaten before. Still her technique was pretty cool

There is no law saying you have to buy the manga you read at a bookstore.
 
Episode 10 was neat.
So there were Male Claymores its just that they couldn't control themselves. This episode was a little frightening especially the tounge rape scene. I mean wtf was that. We finally learn why Claire is so awesome.
 
Sooooo, I want to watch this but can't seem to get it to run on WMP10. Need some kind of codec but it's not telling me what. Help?

EDIT: OOP! THERE IT IS! Downloaded DivX and now it suddenly runs on WMP10. Sweet. I haven't watched an anime series in YEARS, so this better be good. :)
 
watched the first two episodes...I like, though it hasnt impressed me as much as seiri no moritobi...the production of that series is movie quality

Stick with it. Most of us felt the same until we got to to the episodes about Claire's past.

I agree that seirei no moribito is great though. I just wish that there was a bit more action.
