i don't know if it's been mentioned, but has anyone else noticed the amount of cameltoe in this anime? i'm rewatching episode 21 and in part of the recap it's like... wow. i'm not complaining, just noticing. :)

faithful to the manga?

It's not.
She's gonna go all uber and beat up Rigald like the in the manga, and then she'll find priscilla and engage in epic showdown and beat her.

I was talking about the fighting in Pieta not the drama going outside battle.
I am sure Raki is going to find out Priscilla Awakened Being later in the manga anyway.

Episode 22
Claire getting a powerboost was expected. Hopefully she has rez abiltiy next when she's done. It took way too long for her to go nuts though. I thought she fully awakened for a second there. Or maybe she has and her awakened form is just a powered up version of her regular claymore body.

RE: Episode 22
The last 3 minutes were pretty ****ing amazing if you ask me. Just the whole running to stop the Awakened Being from killing the captain in slow motion, with her talking to herself... just had me going right to the end.

You know, there is kind of a difference between finding out now, and after
spending 7 years with her.
And the changes to the manga continue in this episode, with all the
interruptions to the fight to focus on fucking Raki, with even some flashbacks, and then that loser goes to Pieta by himself.
Why oh why must Madhouse make these stupid changes to the manga? Just end the anime after the northern campaign, and if possible do a second season in a few years, if not the end of the NC is a decent stop point. I fear the ending they will actually come up with.

Fuck this show. It's completely ruining its source material. In the manga, this is easily the best part to date. The show on the otherhand is fucking axing it to death by interspersing that shit heap of a character Raki everywhere.

No director, you didn't cleverly juxtapose Raki with Clare. You fucked up the best action sequences with that 'new material'. Good god, the only pay off that can be had is if they chop that sonofabitch to bits and have clare go mental.

Agreed. Someone needs to kill him and continue with the Clare awesomeness. :D That Raki stuff is added in probably as just filler.

Did you guys ignore how more than 2/3rds of the entire episode was filled with his slow mo crying and petulant child antics rubbish? The guy RUINED the episode. The awesome in the episode was unable to redeem itself from his utter crap.

Honestly, that would be the best thing they could do. They could've condensed the Rigald fight largely into one episode, then filled the remainder of the second episode for Raki, which no one cares about. We know they're reaching the end of the manga so far so it's not like they need to ration things out. Way to completely fuck up the pacing and kill my favorite portion of the manga so far.

goddammit fucking raki ruins this whole anime
I swear to god if they end this the way I think its going to end I will fly to Japan and kill all of Madhouse.
They will use Raki to bring Clare back from 99% awakening instead of Jean.
normally I welcome change from the manga but this shit is just getting bad, the pacing, the directing and the shitty Raki filler.

If anything i expect Raki to
see the aftermath of the battle, and something that reminds him of Clare. i'm guessing, no praying, that he's too far from Pieta to make it before the fight's over.
That would just be fucking ridiculous.

That's my fear as well. He will bring her back with the power of love. :vomits:
Seriously, does ANYONE even care about Raki? As far as i know, he is destroyed in the character popularity rankings in Japan for Claymore, and still he gets all this filler screentime in the anime and will probably
save Clare at the end.
The best fight of the Northern Campaign is ruined because of that fucker. :/

I think that this would be too obvious
so if they are doing things differently than from the manga I think it means it will be to do something unexpected, like Claire actually losing and becoming an awakened being, Raki will become the new main character and his goal will either be to save Claire somehow as he searches for her all over the world, or to save Priscilla after losing Claire completely to redeem himself
. Or maybe not:p

Episode 23:
So awesome. Easley's next. Claire is probably going to fully awaken to beat him. Raki will bring her back. Then she's going to be number 1 in the organization. After which she'll pull a Tersa and just roam around with Raki until he dies. The end.

Episode 23 was awesome, but I still wonder what they are doing with Raki, I wonder the rationale they thought to do this. I hope its not to do fillers, but actual plot progression.

More likely the obvious....filler. Great episode though.

... I don't know what to say. All the awesome came from the manga... and it was pretty awesome. And again, all the fail came from Raki. So fail it was, I skept all his stuff, but was disappointed to find that I had skipped a good portion of the show when I was done with him.

How much more can the show fail? Why can't this lousy no good beatnik director retcon something decent out of the manga? If they're not going to time skip, then at least give us something awesome right? I hope all the budget cuts doing shitty flashy backs with shitty fighting animations (flash flash flash? jeez) will lead up to a good battle with easley and priscilla.

There was only one thing i expected from this episode.

(Spoiler for episode 23, manga volume 11) http://i6.tinypic.com/334oy8w.png

The pretty much killed my favorite part of the manga so far, and there's only another volume to go. i refuse to believe that Raki was in Pieta in this episode. It never happened.

Ep 23 was both fail and win at the same time.

Win:
The fight with Rigaldo
Fail:
Raki, Clare didn't awaken her arms :(

The anime should end soon, I hope. with a climax fight against Priscilla and Clare.

It just now dawned on me, that your avatar was a elephant riding a rocket bike.

I had always thought it was a pissed off baseball with teeth.

What the hell

74 won't be out till November.

The mangaka is doing Claymore side stories now.

Fucking knew it. The moment they started showing more raki then was present in the manga, I knew they were going to take a good thing up fuck it right up the ass.

Berserk anime has an infinitely preferable end to this shit, despite been a bad end and totally incomplete.

I never read the manga so I don't give a damn. I like the show and ep 24 was good:p

I am excited to see what is going to happen, but I am sad that it appears the show may end soon, plus I was looking forward to meet some of the Claymores that were in the time skip in the manga.

This is why you shouldn't read a manga and then get super-hyped when they announce an anime series based on it. It always ends the same way!! In tears.

On the other hand, I always felt that Raki was the weakest part of the series. His voice was just really annoying. I never felt like it ruined the show, though, but we'll see.

Did people seriously expect Claymore to keep the same manga storyline? It was obvious since the beginning it wasn't, why the hell people whine then. The anime must end for it to have some kind of conclusion since a second season seems faaaar away with the release of 1 chapter per month. In fact, the team did a great job using 100% manga material all the way to ep 21, that's better than most anime, and in fact it hasn't deviated too much from the actual story. Stop whining....

Most Shonen tend to follow the plot strictly. I dunno wtf happened here.

Don't be stupid, CrushDance. Every show that you just listed has had months and months of shitty fillers.

I'm still fucking disappointed by the Claymore anime though. The only thing that would make me happy ow is if Raki was killed off.

i was expecting 24 to suck way more than it did. Raki's screentime was limited, though we know at this point he's likely to
help Clare revert to normal
in episode 26. The only question i have at this point is if they're going to try to end the anime at this point or just continue with loads and loads of filler. It's not like they've got much more manga to build on.

I thought it was a limited series all along? I'm pretty sure they aren't going to run with it...I could be mistaken, though.

i don't follow anime as closely as i used to, so i'm not sure. i started watching it because of this thread IIRC.

I'm talking about the plot. Fillers don't count because they're...fillers for slowing down when they're catching up or whatever.

THIS. Is not. We can clearly see where this is going, Raki wasn't supposed to be there. Unless he leaves and goes back to Isley and the other Claymores don't tell Clare about it then it'll work out. That's what I'm hoping will happen, because last epsidoe Isley said "Don't worry. he'll be back". So who knows.

For someone who doesn't read the manga, can someone spoiler the differences in events that everyone is pissed over?

1. Raki has no idea that Priscilla and Isely are Awakend Beings, they arent suppose to be there.

2. Jean saves Clare from awakeing but dies

3. Galatea isnt suppose to be there

4. 7 year timeskip I think into the next Arc.

Most of the changes are there to get it done in 26 episodes, if I had to guess.

Which I'm fine with. Shows that go on and on forever, you know the ones, I absolutely hate. Give me a self-contained story that's done over the course of a set number of episodes any day.
