Maybe for Elena, but that's it. Nolan North is a little old for it and doesn't have the leading man look (plus no studio in their right mind would sign off on him). The guy who plays Sully looks NOTHING like him.

Oh wait actually, a better Drake than Chris Pine would be Chris Evans. He'd be PERFECT. Watch him in Sunshine and then the Fantastic Four flicks.

I never thought of him! I know that guy has a bad string of movies, but he can definitely act (see sunshine for proof). Another guy who resembles him quite a bit is James Roday from psych, not sure if he'd be a good fit. Either way I don't expec the movie to be too good.

First time we finished 10 I was actually worried I had read wrong and that it would be a level 11.

Btw I hate the guys that grab you from behind. Sure the miniguns guys are a pain the ass and the armored shotguns guys are tough but not in the same irritating way.

Sigh....we died at level 9 on 4-5 different sessions today.... ;'(
IMHO level 10 is easier than 9. at least it was on Plaza, don´t know if the levels differ.

EDIT: How do you check what difficulty you are playing survival at? Would be embarrassing if we had such a hard time on easy.

Level 10 is the one where all those shock troopers with shotguns appear. Which is ordinarily fine, but like droves appear together and when you're all camped up in one spot and one kills one of you, reviving just becomes a game of tit for tat and before you know it you're overwhelmed with 3-4 of these guys.

Anyway, tomorrow I'm sure we'll do every one of them. We've learnt from our mistakes! For level 10 I'm just going to stock up on saved sniper rounds. Watch me single headshot kill every one of those shock troopers before they climb up to us!

And then he goes to the Bermuda Triangle to find the lost treasure of
Amelia Earhart
!
Or rather he travels to Greece and then that takes him to the Everglades of Florida which gives him an idea to head to an area in the Bermuda Triangle, which he comes though with, and he finds Atlantis, worn down thanks to mass earthquakes that plagued the island. The supernatural element of the story being the hunt for the golden fleece. Only this time its an actual treasure and the people guarding it are not supernatural, just have unique weaponry and bronze armor.

we hid down in the "alley" in plaza and covered both sides with on guy running between sides helping. Not saying it was easy but we finished level 10 the first time we got to it.

Urgh, I really hope there isn't an Uncharted movie. The game is already cinematic enough, a movie adaptation would most likely be some hokey Indiana Jones wannabe bullshit. The Matthew Maconnahey as Drake rumors made me want to spew, DO NOT WANT. I'm not entirely against game to movie adaptations, but in this case there is no chance that the movie could recapture the same magic of the game. But if it does happen ...Morgan Freeman as Sully, please.

Monday I sat down at 16:30 and finished singleplayer, remember I ate but don´t know at which time, then I played some 5vs5 with people from a swedish forum, then some survival with a friend. And BAM! Clock was just over midnight. Whops better get to bed. But I was all worked up and probably didn´t fall asleep until past one o'clock.
I have a sleeping disorder and sleep bad as it is and this game is going to destroy me :lol

Tell me about it, I have a hard time sleeping too and the night I finished the game it was around 2 AM and I couldn't sleep with how amazed I was. Truly a great experience.

Agreed, Crushing is like the best mode to play Uncharted and Uncharted 2. It gives me the sense of urgency, rush, and actual danger.
indeed. it stops me from run and gunning/ melee-ing.

after crushing i will melee my way through "very easy" though.. just for fun (and the final treasures)

It's one of the two skins in the European collector's edition. The other one is a pirate from UC1.
Honestly, it's not that great if you ask me. Never used it once.

Can someone explain what Voodoo ND have done the my PS3, cos the machine whats pumping these visuals ain't nothing like the one I though I bought........ Fucking JESUS!!!!

Yeaaaaah finally got my first ever PS3 platinum trophy. Crushing wasn't too bad. The toughest challenges during my crushing run were

Hiding in the train car trying to hold off the rush of enemies while waiting for Elena to bring the Jeep around. I kept getting rushed from all sides and getting killed. Must've taken me 20minutes to pass it.

Also the train boss was a bitch until I realized that my extreme butting pressing during melee was causing the TRIANGLE counter button not to show up, resulting in death time and time again.

I actually beat the final boss on my 3rd try on crushing... it took me about 10 on normal during my first run through! Hah!

I like the look of it, used that version of Drake for a lot of UC1 replays. I knew I should have bought the Collector's Edition. :(

I breezed through those parts but the parts that I struggled with is the part near the bridge where you have snipers in the towers before that. I had a rocket launcher guy keep throwing me off from cover with rocket fire and get rained by bullets afterwards.

The rest was a cinch though.

On my way home. Shower dinner... Multiplayer. Didn't pick up a headset yet. The ps3 wireless one is kinda expensive and I want to check some Aussie forums to see where I can get a good one cheap. or a warhawk bundle or something..

There's an uncharted movie for sure? I doubt Itd be any good /sigh

Pretty sure there's no difficulty select for survival and gold rush. From my experience, those two modes seem harder than objective co-op on hard.

I'd say fully utilizing the Cell (including all the PSEs) and making the memory segmentation work for you, not against you. And of course being great programmers working with great tools.

And great artists. Don't forget the artists. A lot of games have great graphics or great artwork, but UC2 has both.

Just completed the game for the first time and wow what a great experience. My passion for gaming has been waning the last couple of years and is being replaced by tv/movies but Uncharted 2 has brought me back into the fold.

Looking forward to going back in this thread and reading what people thought about some of the plot points. In particular, how the transition was handled between 1 and 2 (expected more backstory but I guess I liked how they handled it here) as well as the final events leading up the game.

EDIT: Oh forgot to say that I loved the Indiana Jones references:
"Spikes! I hate spikes!"
and the
treasure map room where a beam of light marks where to go next
.

Excellent. One of my friends also felt the same way (he doesnt play much at all, but has been on an Uncharted 2 binge lately), so it was good to hear this.

Of course, great artists, too!

Speaking of references, in Uncharted 1 there was a swarm of bats flying out of one of the tombs, surprising you, and the same thing is in Uncharted 2 (chapter 4 or 5). And the running away from something (towards the camera) reminds me of the early Crash games, too.

Boosters don't apply to coop play. :s I wanted 3 grenades

just dropped a game. Playing coop and the guy ran past me while I'm dying and climbed a wall... Fuuuuukkkkk uuuuuuu

I know this was addressed earlier, but I need to repeat for empahsis -- you couldn't be more wrong. He DOES do Drake's motion capture and not only that, but we have released a bunch of video illustrating that fact.

Well, Fillion sucked in ODST and North is pretty much good in everything... if that means anything.

Anyway, great game but what a fucking stupid boss battle.
Thankfully someone found a cheap way to beat him:
http://www.gamefaqs.com/boards/genmessage.php?board=955125&topic=51828501

I know they had to compensate for the last boss battle... but this was just idiotic. It's almost as frustrating as that stupid RAAM level in singleplayer at the end of Gears 1.

Yeah, you can even see him doing it in the Behind the Scenes material in the game, when you're shown a bit of the making of the cinematic where
Chloe and Nate are on the bed talking
. And of course, there's loads of footage of him doing mo-cap in the bonus material in the first game.

Speaking of that, I was a bit disappointed that there was much less footage of stuff like that in this game. I guess it was covered in the first game, but I would have liked to see the making of pretty much all the cool cinematics. Loved all of that stuff in the first game. I would also have liked to see something from the music recording sessions, etc. I basically think the bonus material in the first game was much better and more complete. Any chance that more footage like this could be released through PSN or something like that?

Hey Arne, would love it if your cinema section had the recording of the motion capture on the other half of the screen. I know you did a few in Drake's Fortune - but there's only a documentary in U2 :(

You should try and release them :)

That had more to do with the terrible writing than his performance. Bungie is awful at writing dialogue or making cutscenes that don't look ugly.

What's a banned gif? Anyhow... Had a few game with dropouts now :s sad.... I really wish muliplayr would work right! Right now it's saying there's only 4990 people playing online... Resident evil 5 had better working match making and they were Japanese!!!

I've been waiting now for what seems like forever for a matchup for coop.... What the fucksisiss

For starters, one that are blatantly seizure inducing.

I actually enjoyed the last battle, I think it's pretty hard to create an awesome boss in this type of game. Gears failed, Gears 2 failed, Uncharted 1 failed, and Uncharted 2 failed according to most people. Killzone 2 did quite well with the last battle.

Uncharted 3 boss could be like that and make the enemy heavily heavily armored and have the armor pieces chip off of him like the heavy troops in Uncharted 2.

Ah, is that the "FUUUUCK" one?

I recall when I first saw it in the Resistance 2 announcement thread. It was so fitting there :lol

I had much luck with the matchmaking yesterday, I found players really quickly (often within a minute, sometimes a bit longer) for every mode I played. Sometimes it's not like that at all though, which is annoying.

It said there were 12,401 players online all night last night, it never changed. That's obviously not right, so I have no idea how many were actually online.

My first foray into MP last night was spectacular fail. Twenty minutes worth of matchmaking (I tried every one of the playlist options) resulted in lots of waiting for optimal game/close game/any game/players and little else. The one game I did manage to get into I was kicked from, probably because I'm still level 1 - how am I supposed to fix that if I can't get into a game? >_<

Steroyd was online in a co-op party of two, but it wouldn't let me join them. Again assuming because of the fact that I'm level 1.

Will try again tonight. In the meantime, if anyone seems me in the game feel free to fire me an invite - I'm playing through on Crushing since last night but I really want to give the MP a try. :(

Feel free to add me on PSN (Striketh) and I'll play with you any time. I usually stick to coop maps.

I've found that if you can't get matched up within a minute or two if you go back to the lobby and restart it the game will usually find a match right off the bat. I'm over in south korea so I very rarely find local games, thus I always have to wait for it to go to "any game". It sucks getting 2 bars max most of the time. I make due, though.

I still don't understand how I had virtually zero issues with the BETA playing with all my friends, yet the final release of Uncharted 2 is constantly showing problems.

The BETA is to FIX these issues, non? what the hell!

I'm also having tons of problems playing in parties. Seems especially bad at certain time of the day.

Did manage to face some GAFers in a game. Though the less said about that... :D

Have you played Prince of Persia? Just curious. Even ODST for that matter...did you meet Romeo? I don't hate the Drake, but North is definitely at his best in the Uncharted games.

I'm just on Chapter 22, but they last few chapters have cemented this as my GOTY now. I was a bit unsure towards the first few chapters, but once things get rolling, things get thrown at you left, right and centre. It's awesome.

I'm going to be missing about half of the treasures though, which is mad really to think there's still about 50 floating around and I didn't catch em.

I started the game on hard, my first ever time on a first play through and none of the gunfights have really caused me much problems. Some of the puzzles/adventuring though has. Currently just over 8 hrs and another 25% so to go.

Will do, thanks. I'm UK based so I guess you're about eight hours ahead of me? I tend to play between 22:00 and 00:00 so I hope you're a morning person! :p
