the story was simple, Indiana Jones-style pulp. My main problems is that because the game was so linear, it took incredible logic leaps to keep the story moving. I mentioned one earlier about...
CHAP 4 SPOILERS:
How absurd it was that Lazarovic and the other guy were in this jungle for 3 months looking for a clue, and yet the location to these huge catacombs with hundreds of bodies magically went without being found even though in the game, it was a hop, skip and a jump from the Lazarovic's primary camp. Literally, a gentle stroll down a simple jungle path with a little cliff. And of course, Chloe had no problem sneaking up on you when you arrived there!
Uncharted 2's AI has been improved to a fault (for Crushing), in Uncharted 1, when you get spotted you stay spotted, in Uncharted 2, they can lose sight of you, so it's easier to not get flanked, and to flank them yourself.
You want balls bustingly hard, Survival and Co-op's crushing is just for you.
I wish my teammates in Co-op stop playing on easy mode :lol
I noticed the enemy losing sight of me, good point. Come on ND make a Super Crushing mode where you die in 2 hits but don't count it on trophy or plat :lol Kind of like MGS European Extreme.
Erm, who's to say Lazarovic's people DIDN'T find the temple? My guess is they did. The difference with Drake is
he knew about the blue resin, which led him to follow the blood stains, which in turn led him to that secret room behind the rubble, and further along the blood trail.
So really, when you think about it, it's not as far fetched as you make out. I think in general you are just over-analysing. It's a summer blockbuster equivalent to a video game, if you're expecting Shawshank you've got the wrong medium.
Finished the campaign today. What a great SP experience, maintains such a great pace throughout. Definitely one of my favorite action games ever. Now to explore the MP. I have almost no friends on PSN so please add me :lol.
Oh yeah, it was really great playing with you too dude. Yeah a chick I know in real life, I actually didnt mean to bring her along but she invaded our party by herself lol.
Oh and again sorry on her behalf that she was blocking the doorway, I told her about it, and she said like "but he was blocking the door himself too lol". So yeah.
But I gotta admit she adapted pretty quick since those were her first times around with uncharted multiplayer actually.
There were quite a few epic moments in that game, I pulled out a handgun by accident and simultaneous got a headshot on one of those neckbreakers by pulling the trigger prematurely, couldnt stop laughing.
If youre on for more, I'll be gaming tonight later as well... and I seriously gotta get a mic this week, it wouldve been so much more fun yesterday lol
didnt have time to Play U2 last night..but I should have several hours to dive into tonight..can't wait!!
This thread is so evil...I want to talk about the game, but so many people have finished it that spoilers seems to be flying around like crazy. I must resist.
seriously...I know he's a mod, but this complaint is so stupid.
Forget about games and their obvious focus on fantasy...and lets talk about Indiana Jones movies..as this game really wants to be one.
Like any big budget action movie, you have to have a certain understanding of the suspension of disbelief. Is their anyway Indiana Jones could have survived jumping out of an airplane on a life raft..landing in the river and going over two giant waterfalls? How about surviving a nuclear bomb in a fridge?
What you mention isn't even that far fetched, as someone posted earlier..it's possible they found the cave, but had no idea how to follow the blood trails.
I'm pretty sure in Indiana Jones in Raiders of the Lost Ark..there is a giant nazi camp digging for a tomb, that is literally a few hundred feet in the other direction.
or how about that Palace in Temple of Doom that was connected to an underground slave camp. That GIANT temple that held the Holy Grail in Indy 3 would seem to stand out a bit. The library in Venice was built over a sewer tomb?
The bottomline is complaining about these little plot discrepencies is pointless..as they are there to move the story forward.
Back to games...has there ever been a videogame that you would consider "realistic" in terms of story?
These are the works of fiction, and shouldn't be looked down upon for trying to entertain you.
I wish I could get rid of the echo for my wireless headset. I even tried that echo canceller option in the xmb and that didn't do jack. It also doesn't seem like people can hear me but I can see my little microphone thing pop up when talking.
you can exploit the pathfinding AI for Lazarevic by hanging from a ledge and shimmying around. Maybe it's not a 'glitch', trick might be a better description.

Anyways, about replay sharing. Can you add some kind of a warning system when you try to download a replay being sent from a friend when you have 20 replays already stored locally?
What happens now is you simply lose the replay when you attempt to download it and u have to ask your friend to send it again. Please look into this.
So I beat Crushing. The only hard sections for me were Chapter 3 & 4 (cause I had zero strategies for this in all of the difficulty modes) and Chapter 26
against Lazaravic
.
I had to make my little brother play that last part since I was so goddamn frustrated. That bastard moves way too fast. But anyway, I'm happy to say that I can now sing
No, but seriously, I've been sitting here scavenging SAS-12 ammo when I can get a chance and killing enemies here as I can get a chance as I feel DYING means I'll have to redo this 20min+ fight over.
FFFFFFFFFFF.
Even more FFFFFFF: Stupid
Mutant Civialians for Shangri-La
Three of them, and because I took so long, I no longer have a crossbow to grab to take their asses out. AHHHH. So now I have to spam SAS-12 and hope I get lucky. >_<
I have not witness any flanking in Uncharted 2's Crushing. A lot of the battles were much more safe because I didn't really have to leave the area where the battle started.
The restriction of waves of enemies and the area layout didn't give the enemy a lot of chance to flank me
I don't know how old he actually is but Chris Evans feels too young to be Nate. To me Nathan's early 30s (32/33) at the youngest, and that's pushing it a bit. There are too many hints at him having a reasonably long and checkered history to still be in his 20s, which is about where Chris Evans looks, unless it was a movie about when Nate first met Sully.
Well yeah, but it's not difficult, the trick is that
if Laz is on the platform above you, if you shimmy over to the side with the highest step, rather than take an easy shot down at you, he will jump off the platform further along and try to run over to you, opening up a sap shot (or buying you time to move if you're waiting for the sap to respawn). On the far side there's another sap shot you can use as well.

Oh god, they constantly throw grenades at you if you hide behind cover, sometimes three or four all at the same time. That whole section was irritating, but I was lucky to keep a rocket launcher from the last section with me. The first thing you got to do is get rid of the red dot sighted enemies and the heavy armored dude with the shot gun with that dragon sniper near the beginning. Then slowly head for cover after cover and abuse the hell out out of blindfire.
The PS3 version of the Amazon pre-order bonus is worthless, since especially with the large amount of space it takes up, you can't access it while playing the game.
The PSP version is okay though, even if it doesn't include all treasures. It's only 51 MB.
Drake asked her if they had found any bodies in the main excavation site, which was the area where the ships had run aground. He didn't ask about the mountain.
There are obvious factual difficulties with a story premise that includes thousands year old ruins of a long-dead civilization which are both substantially intact and open enough for explorers to stroll into with minimal effort. But hey, that's the way this genre works. I doubt anyone wanted to play through the process of Drake and company funding a multi-million dollar archeology expedition complete with brushes and miniature pick-axes.

Correction: Once those come in, you get a checkpoint (THANK YOU GOD!) and a crossbow magically appears. w00t, past that section. Now it's smooth sailing until the end. >_<

I waited at the top where you enter, scavenging ammo if they came up where I was. Chleo/Elena go into the fray.
The mutants taking down some enemies and they took down the GAU mutant human enemy(!) before being downed.
I ran out of ammo and was all "SHIT SHIT SHIT SHIT SHIT--" going down the stairs. Grab a SAS-12, hide to the RIGHT of where you entered (where they don't enter from) and just wall-to-wall rolled [a la Splinter Cell] when a grenade was near me. Popped out to get SAS-12 ammo when I ran out (HAIR RAISING) and prayed for the end of the fight.
But no joke: WHY SO SPAWNED!? I mean Hard had like... 5-6 waves? Crushing throws at least 10 waves at you there. So damn crazy.

You know those lanterns with the blue resin that are right next to the GAU unit? You can shoot that to take him and who ever else is with him down. I really recommend coming around from the other side and getting rid of that dude with the RPG...fuck I hate him.
I just realized I totally confused what you original said with Chapter 26. :lol
I havent got the game yet, but i hype this game up so much to a friend of mine who hate Killzone 2 but is a MGS4 and COD4 nuts to buy it, and apparently he seems to not let me borrow the game after he plays a few chapters of it. selfish bastard!! :lol
There is a huge differences in difficulty between Crushing mode of Uncharted 1 and 2. In Uncharted 1 the big battles the enemy can flank you if you are not careful thanks to the area you're in. The battles seems more dynamic in a bigger area where the enemy can spawn from multiple directions.
I have not witness any flanking in Uncharted 2's Crushing. A lot of the battles were much more safe because I didn't really have to leave the area where the battle started.

I believe that Uncharted 2's Crushing is much easier then Uncharted one.
This has already been stated I'm sure, but flanking is in the game. Just put it on hard or crushing, get spotted, then stay still and don't fire on the enemy.
The guy's who are most likely to flank you are the Soldiers in grey with the vests on, and the guy's with shields.
The big difference, as someone else said, is just that the enemy can lost sight of you. I've noticed they're smarter now when you fire at them, they'll hang back unless they are wearing amor, as opposed to Uncharted 1, they'd rush out from cover to cover even if you were sending rounds their way.

I finished SP last night on normal. What a ride, from beginning to end. Tons of variety, great story, great voice acting and over the top set pieces. I can't imagine anything giving UC2 a run for GOTY. I think UC2 will be the game that represents the best of this gen.
Few questions:
1. If I want to replay chapters for treasures and trophies, do I use my original save or a new one?
2. How do I use the unlockables like infinite ammo? Do they turn off trophies?
