I guess they mean that the first weeks of sales have been much better than for U1? They can't possibly mean that the game has already surpassed U1's total sales (which are at over 2.6 million) "many times over", right?
Unless even people not owning a PS3 are also buying the game, I guess they're talking about the first few weeks :D

Only up to chapter 2 at the moment but i am telling you that so far it is amazing. The cut scene at the bar in chapter 1, it really did look like a CG movie. Amazing.

And i LOVE the fact that it supports Linear PCM audio. Makes a big difference if you have the right set up :D

That doesn't really make sense either, though. Over 25 million PS3s have been sold (possibly more), so U1 has only been bought by about 1/10 of all PS3 owners.

Had to stop on Chapter 10 yesterday night...

Continuing soon again.

Yeah gotta be a first week thing, unless something went drastically right...

Anyways, Platinum'd it last night/early this morning. Don't think I would have bothered though if I hadn't done the first one. Just wanted to do it for that really.

Though I made the mistake of doing a few chapters and then doing the last boss to get that out the way (or so I thought) then going back to finish the rest of the game. I didn't get my trophy after doing Chapter 25, so I had to do the boss again. He was much easier this time thanfully.

Thought I'd struggle on a few places later in the game on crushing, and while there was a couple of sticking points, it wasn't that hard at all.

well if they can't make coop maps DLC then release a BluRay with them, I'd buy two copies

Uncharted 2: the lost coop levels edtion

:D

Do you really expect a single game, as good as it may be, to be owned by "many times over" 1/10 of all potential buyers? ;)

No, of course not. But you said that more people would have to have bought it than the total number of PS3 owners in the world for it to have sold many times more than U1. That doesn't make complete mathematical sense. But let's drop it, shall we? I don't even really know what we're arguing about. :lol

So far I love this game except for one thing:

I HATE HATE HATE those friggin
monkeys or blue freaks whatever. Those creatures are not exactly my idea of a good "Supernatural element" in this series. Not to mention they're fucking annoying to deal with.

you can clearly see Guerrilla Games hand on this game when the opposing team can take the treasure back to their base then just camp for the easy kills, KZ2 Search & Retrieve has been topped.

:lol :lol

I played with some other aussie forum guy and my mate and had a blast. So it was me/him and my mate mike and we made SO much cash-ola - $45k/match... clearing survival, clearing goldrush. Its so much fun when everyone is on the same page. We had 1 match where I idiotically RLed all of us... sigh. Such an idiot. Level 10 too... hahaha

mike is buying a headset tomorrow because... he enjoyed the game so much. He went from uncharted MP meh... to wanting to fork out cash for a headset because of the "mad fun".

ha

I honestly finally get how they priced the upper level goodies. High level play nets SO much money. :O Even goldrush... which can be sort of easy... you clear the map (quickly)... and you'd net easily 25-35k (dependent on whether or not you had kills). ridiculous $$$$.

only only deos it deserve to sell better, it deserves to move at least a million plus unit. People, buy this bloody game. Not only is the SP game of the generation, the MP game is FUCK FANTASTIC.

I'd buy DLC maps. In a heart beat. Its soooo good. Maybe some co-op levels through stages in uncharted 1 remade for game 2. There is So much they can do here.

do it do it do it.

playing the fucker on crushing right now. must admit i died a couple of times.......... trying it again tonight:D

I can't believe people aren't talking about how they buffed up Drake. I mean, seriously, he's huge now compared to Uncharted 1.

Maybe it has been mentioned but still. Apparently, you CAN use cheats & still get difficulty trophies (and all the others too) on difficulties you still haven't beat if you do this:

Gamefaqs said:
1. Start a game on a difficulty you haven't finished and go all the way until you have a real gun.
2. Go to in-game option and set the difficulty to one that you have the tweaks unlocked with.
3. Enable your tweaks.
4. "Save and quit"
5. Go to main menu option and set the difficulty back to the one you originally choose.
6. "Continue" the game.
7. enjoy.
It's basically the same trick you can use in The Force Unleashed on the 360 :lol

I finally beat it, I took a break for a few days just because I didn't want it to end :/
Well, Naughty Dog has now created two of my favorite games, UC1 & UC2. The mere fact that I want more UC because I want to see more of the characters and not just because of the gameplay really shows that they've accomplished something great. The characters, albeit a bit cliche at points, really stand out in the gaming media, mostly because they actually have chemistry.

[Rant]
Too many developers seems to think of the story aspect as additional fluff that's just not that important. Those are usually the games I tend not to finish, f.ex. the gameplay in Gears of War was fun but when I took a break from it I felt no inclination to go back to it since nothing in the story/setting/characters interested me. For shame developers, play UC2 and take notes.
[/Rant]

Charted!

That last boss was about as engaging as
Daedelus from Resistance 2
, but I guess ND can't win them all. Awesome game though.

I wonder if this really works. I am up to chapter 22 on Crushing at the moment, but it hasn't been very fun at all. I am definitely going to finish it either way, but I would much rather just blow through the game and never have to visit this difficulty setting again if I could.

Got my plat yesterday. Woo.

I really hope ND can patch in a photo mode for single player. I hope it wasn't left out for technical reasons and instead because of a time issue which now they can dedicate more to since it's been released. Or maybe they didn't want people spoiling later sections of the game to their friends and wanted to wait to patch it in? (wishful thinking).

Seriously, how hard would it be to do such a thing?

Also... I fucking HATE that throbbing color changing square/pixel in the bottom right corner of my screen. It's so fucking distracting. I'm on a 1080p tv and the game is running at 720p and I'm using my tv's "dot by dot" feature to keep everything in frame. i don't want to choose stretch or zoom and deal with losing the outer most edges, no matter how insignificant, because i want the FULL experience lol.

Just sat down and watched up to Chapter 5 with my Dad., who I've not seen in ages.

He's absolutely engrossed. I went upstairs for a bit and he's calling me back down to continue.

So awesome.

Me, Chryz & Steroyd just completed Nepal warzone & The sanctuary, co-op objective mode on crushing.

Nepal was a piece of cake compared to The sanctuary.

Also :lol at enemies having skulls instead of faces on crushing.

The co-op missions on crushing are pretty nuts. Two down, one to go. Good job, HighLuxury and Steroyd. We should try to crack the last one too.

Finished the game last night, took me almost 11 hours. I have a hard time imagining what else is coming out this year that could rock my world as much as Uncharted 2. It was just a perfect gaming experience, at least for me. Graphics, gameplay, story, acting, music--it was all superbly done.

Great job, Naughty Dog!

If you found out zombies were real you would hit the gym too, man.

Give him another game, and he'll start punching boulders instead of simply pushing them.

I'm playing this game way too much as I'm starting to get a crush on Elena. She looks so good in those boots, black jeans and orange jacket. Oddly even with those crazy eyes in cut scenes she reminds me of Jennifer Aniston.

Anyway coop objective is so much fun. I cant even quantify how much I love this game. First game in years I have went right back to playing right after completing it. Doesn't appear too many people are playing it online though. I have never seen more that 15000 players online which to me is very small for a new game and sometimes it take a bit long to find coop partners. Sad to say but I'm actually looking forward to DLC for this game. I hope is more single player action or coop objective.

one question folks..

i'm still waiting for my copy of uncharted 2, and on my first play i'll be playing for the fun of it, ignoring any trophy related stuff.. however...

after the first play, i will be going after the trophies and about those kill X enemies with Y gun and etc..

is there a place where we can see how many enemies were taken down with the guns, so that i have a little clue as to how many are missing to kill?

i noticed that naughty dog site has the stats, but those are from the multiplayer side of the game.. right?

Wow this got much harder...in part one there were only 4 fights I had to try several times (on hard)

Now I get killed several times in about every battle.

and wow at the
train
level

I'm going to file this under not an issue.

But seriously and real reason for my post, guys what's a good spot for the "Kill 5 guys with an explosion" medal?

No specific weapons statistics in the game. Your indicator will have to be the trophies only.

I got it near the plaza, right before you climb to the hotel, when the truck carrying new soldiers gets to the scene. A well-aimed grenade as soon as they got off the truck killed them all.

I might buy this and the first game for my dad for Xmas, but I'm not sure how he'd get on with them. He likes FPS though he isn't very good and I remember he used to like playing Tomb Raider ages ago. Think it's worth buying them for him?

I actually just did this earlier on the
Monastery
level. You know the part where there are all those
snipers
and there are all these guys streaming over the
bridge
between the 2 towers? The part where you "accidentally"
blow up a whole tower

A bunch of them kind of assemble at one choke point. And you can get it. It did still take me several tires though. Use slow motion tweak and it will help a lot. You cannot cross the wooden plank that joins with the bridge you have to throw the grenade from the other side.

Near the beginning of chapter 6, there's a part where reinforcements come in on a truck that has a machine gun mounted. If you kill previous enemies fast and run towards the wall where it will come in, you can shoot a RPG-7 at it before all the enemies inside the truck jump out.

A question. How can I unlock Crushing in co-op? I chose hard but every game I join is still on normal... Normal is too easy when people that you play with know what they are doing...

What? I'm pretty sure it has to be a grenade. At least thats how I did it.

Are you sure a RPG works? Because if so that is MUCH MUCH easier!

Yeah pretty much 10 hours and a half on hard first time through and 28 hours total for crushing and the platinum trophy, atleast that was my playtime.

I think, from Uncharted 1, that this is pretty much like Tomb Raider. Only with a male main character.

If you're anal about stats, you should start new games using Play (with difficulty set under Options) or Chapter menu. If you select New Game, the following three stats will be reset:

* Most enemies defeated in a streak without failing
* Checkpoints failed or restarted
* Shoulder switches while aiming
