Allright.

I will try to keep the gushing within borders, but god damn this game is amazing beyond comprehension. I expected a good and enjoyable game, but instead got one of the most exhilirating video-game experiences I've had the pleasure to plunge into this generation. Heck, *any* generation.

I am still nowhere near the half-way mark, but I see no reason for this game to falter. The quality so far has been top notch - what with the stunning visuals, great dialogue and the most 'natural' video-game -characters to date. Graphically this game is... Just unbelievable. I don't know how Naughty Dog pulled it off, but this game is the best-looking product out there by a mile. Heck, I feel that this game is the first one to really fulfill the potential of this current generation.

I apologize in advance for this cheesy statement, but Uncharted 2 really, really resonates with me. I have been a huge fan of adventure-movies ( namely the original Indiana Jones -trilogy, which I have seen dozens and dozens of times throughout the years ), and this game captures that feeling perfectly.

Now... Back to gaming. I can easily see myself playing through the campaign more than once, and I have to give the multiplayer a spin, too. Truly my Game of the Year, and if things remain this amazing until the end, it could very well be my Game of the Decade.

Generally I didn't find Crushing too hard at all, certainly not compared to UC1, and Veteran on Call of Duty, or Legendary on Halo.

Awesome though, just awesome.
It must be a fluke that I beat that fucker on my first try on Hard. I literally just kept running. I cant imagine trying again. I doubt Id have the same luck. I usually suck at games.

:D

I'm addicted to the MP. I think this will easily be a 100+++ hour game for me. I get home and I play MP (currently at level 37 and getting into co-op objective). And on top of how AMAZING the SP is to me, I just noted that last nights "non random" MP games were all flawless... which made me think back to xboxlive gold. This MP game is free. :O Can't wait for the DLC.

Wonder how many people get sucked into buying these things, I remember back in the old days of CS when I would use blutack.

Man great write up and to steal your phrase this part really resonates with me: I have been a huge fan of adventure-movies ( namely the original Indiana Jones -trilogy.

Its funny how long it took for us to finally get the gaming equivalent of something I have loved for so long but man was the wait worth it.

I waited 30 years for this kind of experience and it's better than ANY movie I've seen or ANY book I've ever read. Thanks Naughty Dog. Really....Thank You.

Just beat game on Crushing!
Just need like 30 treasures, GAU19 kills, 10 in a row h2h/steel first, and some more headshots for platinum :D

Looks like cheating has already started with the game.

I've had 2 MP plunder matches with people over 50 kills that, after review of the playback, appear to be cheating.

The first is more difficult to tell but the guy has a controller that to me appears to be a mouse+keyboard, as seen in Killzone 2. He's able to make minute movements to his crosshair that's far too precise for a controller that make him deadly accurate whilst being able to dodge returning fire quite easily. Everyone else can't keep up to his movement speed or accuracy.

The second and far more obvious is my last match today where a guy (Play it by ear) died 5 times, before never spawning again. You see his dead body but he just keeps killing my team. To me that say's he's under the map itself and is able to collect weapons and shoot through the map regardless of whatever is in his way.

What's up with the Uncharted 2 treasure hunter edition for Canada? Spokesmen for Naughty Dog said that there'd be details.

yeah, crushing was just right.
platimuned this baby yesterday. amazig fun. now i'll dive in to the multi player a bit more. want to finish all the co-op events. they are great.

Btw, I just found out that if you complete chapter 24 on crushing without having completed all previous 23 chapters on it, it will show up as being completed on hard. But the moment you finish doing all previous chapters on crushing, it will change to say "completed on crushing" without having to replay it. That really confused me for a while.

After playing the game again on crushing I've come to appreciate the gun play more and the platforming less than before. It's great how many different approaches you can take in the larger battles (like the village, monastery, etc.), which helps mitigate the never random behavior of the enemies. The vertical aspect of the areas becomes really important on the harder difficulty levels, and playing those same stages in co-op with different enemy set-ups is cool.

But as others have mentioned, you soon realize that a lot of the crumbling bridges, chase scenes, breaking platforms are far less deadly than they seem at first, greatly reducing their intensity the second time around.

that didn't happen to me.
they all changed to Crushing once I bet it on Crushing, and I did the whole game [almost] backwards.

Maybe that guy had his sensitivity set all the way up?

I always have my sensitivity on max regardless of the game and it was faster than that. I've tried replicating his jitter but whatever control he was using, it's certainly not the Sony ones. That one managed to finish the game 51:4.

While I've had a fair amount of success mimicing the style, the controller just isn't as responsive to the small left, right, left movements he was able to use. By repeatedly tapping the fire button and jittering left and right so damn fast, he's able to land shots with extreme accuracy while people can't adjust to his position when returning fire.

It appeared as if his shots did more damage, but in slow mo it was just the fact that all his shots were hitting the target.

The reason I didn't give out #1's name is because the evidence isn't as damning as #2, who was cheating without any room for doubt.

Well, it certainly seems like a glitch, but I'm 100% sure of what I wrote. I finished chapter 24 twice on crushing and it still said "completed on hard" (I had chapter 23 as "completed on crushing" but not all the other previous ones), but as soon as I finished the rest of the preceding chapters and checked it had changed to "completed on crushing"). I'm just glad it's not a permanent glitch, and just thought I'd share my experience in case it happens to others and they get as confused as I was.

Not for nuttin, regarding an upcoming special on PBS:
Wed, Nov. 18, 8PM Priceless treasures unearthed inside human-carved caves in legendary kingdom of Mustang. In the legendary kingdom of Mustang, a remote corner of the Himalaya previously off-limits to outsiders, a team of explorers and scientists climbs for the first time into human-carved caves thousands of years old. They find priceless 14th-century wall paintings, ancient human remains and a centuries-old hidden library of sacred texts that may reveal some secrets about Shangri-la.

Someone was saying there's a glitch where you respawn as an invisible person, but your dead body remains in the map somewhere. Your invisible self can shoot and kill, but not be harmed. However if people shoot your dead body on the map, you can take damage and die. It almost sounds like it should be a new game type...

Just finished Single player and went 8 and 6 in my first MP.

I can't believe Chloe and Elena make out then get killed by Lazaravic. What an Ending!!
Thats how my U2 would have ended :P

Man, can't wait to get my hands on the co-op missions. :) And yes, I can also see myself playing this game for a long, long time to come.

By the way, am I pathetic for having a huge crush on Chloe? She's just so sexy, witty and has an accent to die for... :D

I thought the train thing was alright, but not something that blew my mind :| tbh. They should be able to do something better for the next one :] even though ....
Mostly, I found myself being bored w/U2, I prefer the first game.

I'll still look forward to U3.
I'm telling you, skydive gun battle, jumping from corpse to corpse for cover then defeating a miniboss by stealing his parachute after yours gets knocked off is surefire setpiece porn.

I loved it in the Ice Cave. Everyone kept sniping while I pistoled their faces :)

EDIT: reposting for the new page:

All the maps are full of hiding spots one can use while moving from a zone to another, without being seen or minimizing damage if someone sees you and shoots you from the distance. So it's not really about playing the game wrong.

I don't agree, it really depends on your style.

Yup. Camping only makes sense in objective matches. Not in deathmatches.

Keeping on the move makes you subject to surprise kills even more than camping, because moving the camera around is a bit harder.

Yup.

Sniping on the Monestry type level is THE BEST

Played upto chapter 16.

HOLY SHIT!!!

I didn't want to leave Tibetan village. That is one hell of a dream place to live. Images of this village are imprinted on my mind forever. Ability to interact with people (mostly greetings, kicking football to children, patting buffalo) is very nice touch to whole environment. Also, best snow ever. Game looks simply gorgeous and clean. You hardly notice any jaggies unless you start scanning pixels.

Don't know how AI is on crushing but, on normal, many times enemies are completely obscure from what is happening around them. When playing stealth, couple of times I threw grenade, it landed right next to enemy, and he didn't not do anything. I can make significant noise but as long as I'm out of sight, enemy will act like nobody is there.

Can't wait to continue from chapter 17 tomorrow.

Do you have a cinema video of this? It's the deadman glitch, the only way to kill him is shooiting his corpse.
I'm telling the truth, as creepy as it may seem.

I'd like to try this but pistole/sniper matches never happen to me :(

what the fuuuuuck

i tried enabling a setting in single player yesterday and it said "purchase failed"

so tonight i go to the multiplayer store and it says

"The profile save data has been copied or modified. Money earned during Single Player will not be available."

how do i get my bloody money back!

Got to the final boss on Crushing. Honestly, on Crushing the boss turns into this really fun and entertaining fight (if you don't try to exploit it). It's really intense
making mad dashes around the arena, constantly trying to dodge his shotgun blasts and grenades, popping a explosion whenever possible. It was pretty sick!
It's not exactly the most innovative fight, but man it is a huuuuge improvement over the end of Uncharted 1.

I'll get the bastard tomorrow, I got
unlucky a few times and got him down to his fourth and final "mode", but I got myself in one of the explosions as I frantically tried to light one up as he got close.
