I cant say enough how well balanced this game is. When I started with the beta I thought it took too long to kill someone but then jumping back to mgo and cod4 made me realize that u2 system works better. In mgo you have people who do nothing but head shots an exploit the camera and cardboard boxes to gain an unfair competitive advantage. The animation system in mgo was so glitch that it made the gameplay very unpleasant.

The balancing for the weapons work well. The amount of recoil for the ak works well enough to discourage people from spamming their shots. I like how the sniper is more challenging to use to prevent people wrong doing no scoping like in cod4.

How is that unfair? Everyone can manipulate the camera and everyone has the box. And MGO has recoil, too, and like Irish, I don't understand what you mean when you say the sniper has no scope in UC2 when it does.

This part confuses me, but what I think your saying is wrong. You can use the scope on the sniper rifle. You just have to zoom in with either the X button or R3.
He means shooting it accurately without scoping in.

I'm playing it again on Hard and so far, 73 treasures! Argh! I'm trying to get them all without the use of a guide, but damn are they hidden in very hard places!

That's encouraging. :lol

Don't worry, whatever treasures I end up missing on my Hard play through, I'll make sure to use a guide for the remaining ones on Crushing.

They really went out of their way to hide some treasures. Now you need to shoot them before pickup, swing from ropes in an odd direction and what not.

Still awesome though, got to collect them all!

just finished the game on crushing. Really didn't have a problem at all with the
purple
people - at all. In fact. The game was A LOT easier for me in crushing for some reason. I thought I had fast motion activated but it wasn't. I guess you have to activate it everytime you boot it up. :P Well, in a short session of about 2 hours, I want through monastrery---> the end.

Anyhow, chapter 25up
purple
people, the first encounter this time round, I chucked 2 grenades and killed the first two and then lept between the 2 platforms and shot the grenadier to death so much easier. And also, the stealth play... its awesome. Used it a lot more in crushing and it was fun!

Final Boss on crushing took me 5 tries? It was quite easy once I got used to what he would do/his health in crushing mode. It really wasn't difficult. Had some much room in the final shot between Lazaravic and me, that I wasn't even worried about dying. and then I beat him. That said, on crushing. He was quite fun to play. I never had issues with his
grenades.
<--- which I never even saw during hard. Maybe because I was always close to him in hard but in crushing, I had to run a lot more.

again, great ending and great setpieces. Hard+Crushing+lotsa multiplayer = more than worth the money I spent on it. So many hours so far. Loving it.

Now I gotta platinum the game by getting those treasures. I couldn't find a single treasure in trainwrecked (with the snow). I was like WTF?

and oh

ZERO GRAVITY or whatever its called... :lol :lol :lol

how many times do you need a good reason for quitting within a certain period of time?
i'm not trying to gloss over the debate, here, but at least on the purposefully quitting side of things, that shouldn't really happen that often, so you should only be seeing the initial warning. it's quick repeat offenders that will get penalized.
This is awesome, but - please - fix the freezes in the Trainwreck map!
Everyone I asked, after they said they got a freeze, said they got it in that map :(

I had fun shooting a barrel so high into the air that it pierced the sky-box and didn't come down.

So I am trying to figure out these penalty rules

So when you get kicked from the server (not quitting out), you
still get a penalty?

And, do the penalties ever reset over time? For example, is the 30 sec wait time
on a timer or is it only one 30 sec timer ever and then 40k penalty every time after that?

The co-op treasure mode is fucking amazing. Fucking amazing.

Also the dudes who hug you are the best enemies in a game ever.

HUGS FOR EVERYONE!

Finished on Normal last night finally

Quick thoughts:

Overall I loved it though thought it had some pretty poopy moments given Naughty Dogs calibur. Basically deciding to still have bullet sponge enemies in parts was rather dissapointing. Just thought it was lazy and felt as if they ran outta ideas. And yeah, UC1 End Boss >>> UC2 End Boss
I dunno, I just prefer the series more when it's a bit more grounded in reality and that's why I actually loved UC1's end game.

9/10

PS: Drake's "Scare-O-Meter" :lol :lol :lol

got all the treasures yesterday... now i only need 4 more trophies for my first platinum :lol
the last 2 about multiplayer seems easy. but for the other two i'll need to finish the game 2 more times on hard and crushing. i should have played on hard on my first playthrough :(

:)

Im amazed at Lince,FFObsessed,TTP and other gaffers that play like 4-5 hours everyday.
You guys are hardcore to the bone.

I was hardcore back in the day...

Also: Never forget the true Official Thread

Yeah, I'll just come back for my Platinum in a couple months after a proper FAQ for treasures in a such comes out.

Only just got my first/only Platinum from UC1 like last month

I just got a connection error, how long until my "warning" goes away? an hour? 12 hours?

I'm not playing with these euros because I'll get another connection error (I just know it) and lose 40k.

Anyone watch the AMC's Prisoner trailer on iTunes, the trailer uses music from the first uncharted game, namely DJ Shadow's Uncharted: The Eldorado Megamix. Thought it was pretty cool to hear it in that trailer.

I play it 2 hours a day, and when I stop it's because I have to. I hadn't been addicted to a game like that for years. Feels so good... and so frustrating at the same time :D .

Not sure if it's available for everyone, but the IGN walkthrough has them all. I used it for those I couldn't find on my Crushing run.

I'm done with the SP but not many people I know are playing the MP and I'm finding it tough going (And very dull) with randoms. :(

Opps I meant the initial recoil of the sniper rifles affects how people shoot so they can't use some lame arcade shooting technique. I'll call it quick shooting.
cod4 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HyzuCXLnqiE
counter strike http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aSkLZCBok7E
Basically I'm trying to say shooting in uncharted 2 feels more authentic.

Sure everyone has the ability to do it but the technique ruins the game. MGO was fun during the beta when everyone played and moved around like normal soldiers. Now everyone looks glitchy and awkward.
I spend my time moving and shooting carefully only to have my opponent pop in and out of the box followed by an instant headshot death. It just doesn't feel right at all. anyway this is getting offtopic....

Only had 4 disconnections tonight in 3 hours. It's so inconsistent.

Uncharted 2, I just can't quit you.

Oh by the way, people who have similar issues to me with disconnections, we're being looked out for. :) Thanks, Arne, and the Dogs.

I had like 4 disconnects in the same hour last night around midnight, I just gave up. My internet was stable the whole time.

Anyway, I needed to go to bed anyway, so it was probably just a stroke of fate.

well it prevents people from quitting. If they can tweak it to not take away points with disconnects, it's a fabulous system. In a 5 on 5 match, two people quitting usually means an automatic loss.

I am not a programmer but I would think this would be easy. If they command the game to quit, then dock the points. If it abruptly disconnects dont take the money away.

That solves nothing. The people who are real quitters and want to keep a good win/loss ratio will pull the ethernet plug instead.

It's fine as it is. 40k isn't much anyways, hell it takes 1 million to rank up from 50 to 51.

YES! Platinum Get! :D

Okay, MP was okay but I have to admit that I didn't enjoy it that much. Maybe with time I get to like it better but for now, I have NGS2 to finish.

I say dont punish the people who disconnects. What is pissing me off is people joining the gmae and then being away from the controller... Seriously in nearly every match there is one guy not playing and it's so fucking annoying especially if you are team mate with him.

Whenever I see a teammate in spawn not playing I TK him. One less free kill the opposing team gets.

is the halloween weekend officially over today? i was playing last night and it was still the skelzor skins being used.

just a random thing, but I'd just like to point out how awesome that part in the mountains was, the bit where
you're climbing up a ridge after seeing the dead wolves and jumping through a poorly lit section, and as you're reaching the top, a silhouetted figure in the foreground that you assumed was a rock-face springs to life and moves off camera.
(excuse the shitty grammar in that sentence, it's late over here)

It actually made me jump. I love shit like that. I was playing the GOWIII demo, and the bit with the snake-tail appearing from the shadows reminded me of it.

Don't forget, you can always skip through chapters from the main screen as well. I found it less maddening just to get through Crushing without having to worry about treasures and then skip around once I was finished with it.

I can see how the game probably catagorized me as a "quick repeat offender" and I guess its a good system to have in place. Like I said though my game froze right at the last screen before the game starts, music kept skipping and the XMB wouldn't even pull up. So naturally i hard reset the system. That happened twice in a row and I was docked cash and rank for that.

About to play with WarioGuy64... That's Wario64's PSN, right? :D

- He sniper saved me :lol

Oh now I kinda saved him :D

And if it isn't him... :lol I've been imagining I've been playing with a GAFfer for the whole match.

That is very reassuring! I didn't realize until Arne replied to my posts that he was involved. ;) Faith 101% restored!

...but I'm still avoiding competitive modes for a while. Besides, I love co-op. The team-playing player count is on the rise, thankfully, making it very, very enjoyable.

Fuuuuuuuckkkkk!!! Damnitttttt!! My PS3 froze twice back to back right when the death match game was loading. Reset my PS3 for the second time, get back into multiplayer, only to receive a message saying I have been docked 40,000 grand and two ranks. WTF!!! I never quit purposely, EVER!! Now i am getting docked for something I have no control over. Naughty Dog, C'Mon Son!!!! WTF, is this bullshit y'all pulling on me, taking 2 inches from my e penis, C'Mon Son.

That's exactly what happened to me. I lost 120K and reduced to 11 from 17 on the first and only times I tried multiplayer.

By the sounds of it ND et al are looking into things and they are aware of the inconsistencies.

BTW, my PSN is "Arkham" -- I'll look out for you when I'm online for some co-op.

alr1ghtstart said:
well it could be because you're playing on fucking easy.

Exactly, that's an 8yr-olds starting mode.

As with the first one I play through first on Hard, then Crushing. Going through Hard nets you more trophies when you finish, too. ;)

Damn straight :D I didn't notice it until it was "too late" so to speak until I saw it for the third time :lol It was really surprising. And awesome :D And...

The directing and camera angles throughout the entire game are very impressive. Another bit which I thought was really well done:
when you're walking up the stairs towards the Shambhala temple building where you fight the guardians, as well as some mercenaries, for the very last time. The camera zoomed out waaaaay back.

It's weird - that part barely registered on my first play-through, but I jumped out of my fucking skin when it happened second time around.

Plunder is my favorite game type at the moment, but seriously rethinking that after multiple matches with unbalanced teams (why do I always get match-made with quitters?) and the team with the numbers advantage refuses to score. It's so fun getting killed over and over until the timer runs out because some jerks take advantage to grind medals. Five level 40s against me (~30) and a couple of people in their teens because both of the people with single digit levels quit after a few minutes? UGH.

Yea, those matches suck. I've had a few of them, where basically, they'll get to 4 and one guy sits in their base holding the treasure. Royal pain.

You can technically do that at 2-0 and win. Just for the rooms, there should be a timer in place that detects where there treasure is, and how long it's been there, then auto-respawn. Of course, that would lead to guys just running out before the timer is up.

Maybe they should make the treasure like the Idol in the first game, hold on too long and your team dies. That would solve it--hell, I'll even take a "Capture the Cursed Idol" game mode.

So much bullshit going on today. Tons of lag.
Had dead bodies throwing 2 grenades back to back at me and I'd blindfire a guy while in cover and kill him and I'd die from a melee....w/o the melee animation being close to showing. I'd die from a falling body.

Whats going on today? It's getting on my nerves

As I type this now...I'm stuck at the "Game Starting in 1...." screen. Didnt know 1 second = 15 seconds. And now I'm joining a game by myself only to be booted back to the matchmaking screen. :"|
