For some reason during matchmaking my controller has random fits and doesn't respond at all for a few seconds, it's really annoying me, do we know if there is a known bug for this or could it possibly be my controller failing?

I've never had problems with it before Uncharted 2, and I still think it seems to work just fine with every other game.

It's not your controller, it's a connection problem.

No news on the DLC yet?
  • First pack is coming before the end of the year
  • Nothing currently planned for Co-Op because it sucks too many resources and would require a big download
  • Eye of Indra will include some content for U2 (I'm guessing the Rika skin)

Yeah, I noticed a lot of lag today, too. It makes no sense though because the game is P2P. But at points it was really like 1 or 2 seconds.

You can get kicked for teamkilling :O Saw this today for the first time :lol Some assprick was asspricking about, and got kicked after about 4-5 TKs.

so i've been going through another playthrough of uncharted, and damn i still cant get over how amazing nepal looks, especially when
the chopper shoots down the building and all the stuff in the room is just flying

I think you've mistaken "B" for "Spoiler".

Gah! I died like 8 times against
Zoran
last night (crushing), and I had to give up (too late). I'll try again last night. Also, I'm still missing like 20 treasures, so I'm going to have to do another run :D

Loving this game, awesome all around.

This has probably been discussed before, but when I was doing the platforming section with
Flynn
right before the end and he mentioned
Stonehenge
I remembered all of the other off-hand comments in the game and thought that some
"Uncharted: chronicles" DLC would be nice; like bite-sized adventures involving drake and friends
. Something like the larger levels involving platforming/shooting sections (say about 1-2 hours of gameplay) with maybe some other insane set pieces thrown in for good measure.
Co-op optional
.

Seriously Sony, stop ignoring the fucking East Coast. This is bush league and tacky. Much smaller companies with less reach have no problem doing nationwide sweepstakes.

End: And how the hell do you misspell Michigan?

Eh, I think you can. I went on a media blackout for this game (since I knew I was going to buy it, play it and love it no matter what) and I even avoided this thread until I was done with the single player levels (and even so, I rarely highlight spoilers). To be fair, I think that people that want to avoid story spoilers should just stay out of official threads for games, but the truth is that people come in here to ask questions about the game (to make up their minds or whatever), and seeing how it's not that hard to just use a spoiler tag... well... I do think you can spoil that scene.

A lot of this has to do with contest rules and regulations. Some staights have stricter laws regarding this stuff.

I'll never forget filling out the "NES Dream Contest" in Nintendo Power's first Xmas issue..where you had to list 50 games you wanted for Xmas...then after thinking of 50 games and writing all of them, (this was pretty hard when you're 10) reading the fine print "not available to Florida Residents" :(

I know. I wasn't complaining. I just found it peculiar that it was bolded. I've hit bold once or twice in place of spoiler tags. :lol

My cousin just had 4 disconnects during co-op in the last 30 minutes.

Kind of frustrating :/

Yea, I'm sure there is some hold up. I'm thinking it has more to do with different shipment centers. But thousands of other companies have found workarounds to those issues. This isn't exactly an exotic sweepstakes. Sony continues to show their dis-interest in certain regions of the country and its pretty annoying if you actually live there.

Wisconsin? Seriously? I hate that state! Bring it to Indiana! ((I really don't care, unless my PS3 is the broken one instead of my TV.))

Didn't really like the villain that much - he was a standard evil, generic villain type of guy, same as Roman in UC1, but the voice actor REALLY brought him to life for me.

I'll always remember these 2 lines because of how menacingly he delivered them:

"So... this little man is Drake?"
"You are the reporter that has been biting at my heels all this time."

The directing and camera angles throughout the entire game are very impressive. Another bit which I thought was really well done:
when you're walking up the stairs towards the Shambhala temple building where you fight the guardians, as well as some mercenaries, for the very last time. The camera zoomed out waaaaay back.

I loved that section because
of the rain/thunder/lighting effects. Maybe it's because I've never been able to play Crysis on max settings, but I thought that was the most realistic "wet" looking environment I had ever seen. And the lighting on everything when the lightning strikes... awesome.

A lot of the east coast have really difficult sweepstakes laws. New Jersey for example, has laws that basically keep them out of every sweepstakes as contests are they force "full disclosure," and contests where purchase is neccisary apparantly clash with lottery and gambling laws in state.

A contest like this REQUIRES purchase, so any state or region that requires a contest have no purchase neccisary would be passed over by this contest.

Cannot be said enough. We didn't even get the Uncharted 2 theater thing last month.

I loved his accent, my favorite lines from were
"NO compassion, NO mercy"

IG: Is there a plan for DLC in Uncharted 2?

AH: Absolutely, we're working on that now, and what we're prepared to say is that there will be DLC available before the end of the year. Without going into specifics, it'll involve new maps, new characters, things like that. Some of it will be free of charge and some of it will be purchasable. We've got a lot of people on the team working on this stuff, some really cool stuff that people will be excited about. So we're definitely taking it very seriously.

That reminds me...I looked around Broken. But from everything you've said, it seems your PS3 is sending a perfectly clean image but the TV is displaying it with some sort of filter/effect maybe? I think it'd be best if you posted a thread here on Gaming for some of the more tech orientated to look into it.

Thank you for all your help, CrushDance. I'm still waiting on my brother (and his PS3) to come over so I can be certain where the problem is occurring. The TV should be an easy fix because I'm still within my 30 day exchange thing on my second exchange. (First TV purchased on Sept. 25th) I'll probably have to buy a new PS3 if that's where the problem is stemming from, but that's alright as well.

Wat?

There is DLC coming? Will there be single player or is this just map packs?
as far as we know, map-packs and skins.

I've done that a few times. I wish there was a button for spoiler. It is kinda bad when you want to spoiler something but for get to change the 'B' to 'spoiler' and the thing you wanted hidden is instead bolded. :lol

To be honest we don't really get to see the villains prospective or much at all. The story is focused on Drake and everything he experiences. We don't really see the villains adventure or why they are after such things.

I really hope they fix this. It doesn't happen very often but when it does I'm usually in a firefight.

What I'm hoping for is making it so if you are having connection problems, you can't die. If you have no control over your character.

It's not fair for people who have people be able to kill you when you can't do anything about it.

DLC, make it happen, ND. It would only work later in the game though, because you'd have no one to shoot at earlier besides Drake and crew.

it would be ridiculous to charge for maps already for a few reasons

1. There aren't that many people playing the game online as is, splitting the userbase even further only makes matters worse
2. Competition, aka MW2, is going to steal a lot of players. How do you keep people playing your game? Free map pack.
3. Actually playing the new maps will become a pain. You can't create a bunch of new playlists because each will begin to run thin. Put the new maps in all current playlists and force people to download them [freely] before being allowed to enter matchmaking.

than in the future charge for map packs, play the "our first map pack was free" card.

Agree. I hope new maps are free and skins not. Charging for new maps would be catastrophic.

worked for killzone no?

i dont't see why charging for maps wouldf be a major problem. i'd pay for it if its reasonably priced.

however shit like (charging for skins...) LBP skins.... that is retarded as all hell. when I see these on PSN, it makes me really annoyed. Such money grabs. How long does it take them to model some rubbishy skins.

Finished crushing this evening! I don't really care for playing multiplayer, so I think it's time to give Uncharted 2 a little rest for now. Played through normal, hard, crushing, and a second time on normal for all the treasures. Only needed help finding one treasure in chapter 22. Loved the game! Can't wait for Uncharted 3!

Map Packs splits the community. I rather have Devs make all DLC free it gives more incentive to buy the game, giving it a much better value then it is.

I had a kill register after I ran to the opposite end of the map. I killed the guy and he still had an "alive-arrow" above him. Then I heard a CHING out of nowhere. Had to be at least 20 seconds later. I also kept getting stuck in the running animation w/o being able to actually move forward on a number of occasions. Someone would shoot me while I was running up the stairs and then I'd just stop running. The aiming also seemed very wonky today. AAAANNNNDD the FAL wouldnt fire right. It's suppose to be "DUNA.DUNA.DUNA"...instead it was like "DUNA.........DUNA...DUNA......DUNA". It was really pissing me off.

Also, how come no one has brought up the fact that blindfiring is DEADLY. It's super accurate. Needs to be toned way the hell down. It's only really a problem with weapons other than the FAL. I cant seem to keep my character's arms up and keep firing when I have the FAL behind cover. They always shoot a burst and then put their arms down and then raise them again. It gets me killed so much :(

I also have the "not being able to control your character" bug happen to me sometimes.

I know what you mean. I love killing a guy and having a grenade come out of nowhere 3-5 seconds later and killing you after the guy is already dead.
