Radec is a piece of cake in comparison to Lazarabitch. I killed him in 2 tries in Elite difficulty. On Normal difficulty, I struggled to kill Laz. Took me a few tries.

Radec is a bitch. I downed Lazarvic in my 3rd try on Crushing.

I seriously think people are just "playing it wrong"

It's really not a boss you should be freaking out over, even on Crushing.

Well, I got my copy of MW2, so Uncharted 2 is going back on the shelf for a while. I liked the multiplayer MUCH more than I expected to. Overall I still like the feel of Gears' cover system, gunplay, and character movement more than Uncharted's, but I'm extremely impressed with Naughty Dog's initial foray into team-based deathmatch multiplayer.

I think what a lot of people aren't considering is that Epic with Gears of War, Bungie with Halo, IW with COD, these are companies that have been iterating and building on their multiplayer offerings for years and sometimes entire console generations. Whereas Naughty Dog had never done anything like this, before.

So, yeah, Naughty Dog DID make some rookie mistakes. But that's because they ARE rookies when it comes to matchmaking, netcode, ranking systems, map design, etc. I was expecting this lack of multiplayer design experience to really bleed through to the final product, but ND delivered a fun, fast, and (mostly) balanced experience.

With ODST in the mail and MW2 in-hand I'm probably done with Uncharted 2 multiplayer permanently. But I rushed through the SP and beat it in like ~3 days, so I'm sure I'll replay the adventure at a more reasonable pace sometime next year.

Looking forward to the MP refinements ND cooks up for Uncharted 3. It could be an actual contender instead of just being a stop-gap between bigger competitive titles.

Grenades for the first one, then steal his crossbow and use it.

Just beat it on Crushing. Laz is tough but nothing compared to radek on elite. I don't even want to go back and attempt it. It's like the last thing I have to do to platinum K2.

I ran around like a lunatic blind firing and rolling when they lined up to shoot on both Hard and Crushing if it helps. :p

But yeah, as soon as one is down get his crossbow!

When you first have to fight the
guardians
, run forward and to the right - you should be in the rubble with a broken floor/balcony across from you. Once one of them gets on the ground floor, they won't be able to hurt you there, meaning that you can pump lots of AK bullets into him, get his crossbow and take down the other ones.

I've played the game on normal, then on hard (the most enjoyable mode for me) and then on crushing. So far, i've stopped on
the boss battle in chapter 14
, which i haven't managed to beat yet on crushing. But i will definately have another go at it later on. After a couple of days without playing the game, i'm already itching to get back to it.

I've spend about 36 hours on the game so far, all single player, and i can see myself spending even more time on it. I might even attempt platinum, which i never do.

I take back my earlier comments about liking UC1 more. I love them both. UC2 is definately impressive from chapter 5 to 24.

Bought both the OST's. Uncharted is a superb franchise. I can't wait for the next one.

Jesus christ the bridge scene in chapter 22 (I think?) was insanely hard on Crushing.
Minutes before you climb the tower to snipe the faraway enemies, and one tower blows up.

Absolutely.
2 Grenades do the trick. Then be sure to use the crossbow. 2 hits from that will take down a guardian.

I charted Uncharted 2! (on Hard)

Geez "Bare-knuckle Expert" and "Steel Fist Expert" are way much harder trophies then they should be. Depending on what animation Drake feels like doing it will count as a melee or not. Very frustrating.

Just start Chapter 4 on Very Easy, you should get them on the first try.

Did just finish Crushing, wasn't that hard actually. Think I died a lot more on Hard. Stealth and blindfire is very important. Now I just miss 20 treasures and 10 stealfist (or what it is called) and I have my first platinum :D

Edit. Radec is a whole other ballpark than Laz. That fight was evil on hard, don't wont to think how he is on Elite.

Those were pretty easy for me. There's also a tutorial up on youtube... :)

Just finished the game on hard. Hope I'll get the Platinum before Modern Warfare 2 comes out. Still have to get one for playing though the game on crushing and the GAU Kills. Still don't know how I manage to kill 200 enemies with that weapon. :(

I think you can just use the weapon cheat and use it wherever you like to finish the 200 kills... I'm not 100% sure on that but I'm pretty sure you can use cheats and still get trophies. Anyone know for sure?

I don't view it as a stop-gap at all, probably because I've got no interest in MW2... the COD series just got boring to me.

But I think the Uncharted MP community will thrive because of people who view MP shooters like I do (that don't like the "'big names'). I think COD and titles like that will always have a bigger online following, even if they aren't as good, jsut because of the name.

Uncharted's MP, I feel, will consistently have a good niche community.

The whole level that is
Shambala
is video game nirvana.
Spoilers of last level
The sliding down the cliff with the broken wall, the guardians(Thats right you whiny bitches I love the guardians), the canal filled with the most gorgeous water and lightning effects to ever grace a game, Elena getting blown up, the boss fight the whole city crumbling in glorious fashion and again another epic sliding while shooting the crazy guardian off of chloe...
So damn good.

Laz took me 4 tries to beat him. Radec still haunts me and I will never go back to that fight again.

The whole ending battle of KZ2 took me about 3 solid hours of trial and error to beat on the hardest setting. I will say though after the immediate inclination of taking my life passed I felt quite satisfied to have beaten it.

Man I want to finish my single player run on Hard but the 60 gig keeps shutting off after a few minutes of play. Before the patch I could at least play for a couple hours before the auto shutdown. Any chance Naughty Dog is looking into this issue?

I bought the official PS3 Headset today for U2 multiplayer, and after pairing it, it seems to be picking up a lot of background static, so much so that it's pretty much always showing me as "talking" in the Party screens. I don't want to be that guy. Is that normal for this headset? I set the mic volume to 2 in the XMB. It barely registered my voice at normal speaking volume when I put it to 1.

It doesn't have to literally be a punch. Any melee attack will do.

Had an excellent night of Uncharted multiplayer tonight.
I ended up in a party with 4 other Dutch guys who all had mics.
Decided to join their party and we pretty much rolled through nearly every single match (one exception :lol ).

I have the same issue. My mic icon is always blinking.

No way. The build up to Radec in KZ2 is one of the hardest moments I've ever had in gaming.
Lazaravich
was a pain in the ass on crushing, but it only took me a handful of tries. However Just Radec alone isn't that bad... still way worse than UC though.

RADEC WAS EASY. GETTING TO RADEC WAS NOT.

/shrug

I beat lazarevic in about 4-5 goes on crushing. He's pretty easy. I don't know how you guys are having so much trouble. I had slightly more trouble with the train guy and that was because I kept farking up the melee.

All treasures, no guide. FUCK YEAH.

Definitely worth the trouble. :D

In class now, tried out that advice before leaving. I had to leave right when
the guardians with the sling shots showed up
I imagine I'm pretty close to beating the game?

Pretty Much.

for those who played it on crushing, how hard was that boss fight
at the end of the snow train level against the russian
. It took me like 6-7 tries at least on hard

That was the hardest part of crushing for me. It's a little harder, but not much.

He was a bitch. I've come to grips with that as the only enemy I faced with bulletproof skin.

Of course, the payoff was worth it.

"This is mine, jerkweed."

If you're getting hit a lot and your screen is pretty black and white, just sit it out in cover, even if there's 1 more guy left. It's worth it as opposed to redoing the entire fight again.

I've finally bought the game! :-)

This is just my sixth retail PS3 game (KZ2, MGS4, PES2010, Dead Space and Burnout Paradise) since I normally game more on my Wii/360, hopefully I'll enjoy it...

Anyway, The Hut has already shipped the game, now run postman run! :D

Everyone says that they had a problem with
Draza
on Crushing, but I beat him on my first try on both Hard and Crushing. What sort of problems are you guys having with him?

On Crushing, the time to counter in melee (triangle) is ridiculous. You pretty much have to guess, because by the time you see the button on the screen, it's too late to press it.

What I did was damage him enough and got his helmet off, only then did I go into the melee animation.

Hmm... I don't even remember the triangle prompt popping up on Crushing (I just pressed triangle based on his animation).

Sounds like your PS3 is overheating causing auto shutdown. Contact Sony.

It was hard, but I developed a strategy for it for anyone that wants it:

Immediately run into the train car and take cover behind the seat on the right. There is respawning AK47 ammo here. You can take it and wait for it to respawn if you need more. Now, the guy isn't going to come at you until you damage him enough and USUALLY his grenades won't get to you and they'll blow up harmlessly on the other side of the cover, but be ready to move if it does get to you then get right back to the cover. So now, in the cover with enough ammo, pop up and damage him a little at a time. Don't get too close to death. You don't want a B&W screen when he comes at you. Now the hard part: the punch and counter when he comes at you: Tap square quickly about 3 or 4 times, but STOP right when the animation slows down, telling you that the counter is coming. The KEY here is to WAIT until the right moment to hit triangle ONE TIME. Too soon OR too late and you'll fail. If your health was OK, you MIGHT get a second chance. Anyway, you have to basically anticipate when the triangle prompt is coming, there's really no time to see and react to it. And again, a SINGLE TAP. If you get it, quickly hammer square again to elbow him. NOW, run like absolute HELL to the other bench cover on the opposite side, where a grenade is waiting for you. You have to be fast because you'll barely survive getting there. Grab the grenade and make sure you aim it right at his feet to get the most out of it. If you do this right, you'll only have to survive one more melee attack against him. So grenade him, then pop him with the AK a couple more times until he comes... and remember about the timing of that triangle button. If you get it the second time you're almost done. Make the mad dash back to the original cover you were at (again, you'll barely make it alive, don't delay). Now just get him to come at you the third time, and you should be able to hammer him all the way down with the square button this time. If you can't, it's probably because you didn't hurt him enough with the grenade.

There you all go, my little
train boss
mini-faq. Enjoy.

Well, I forgot to ask:

Any tips to enjoy it at its best?
Difficulty settings and such...

How do you set sensibility to values other than 3? 1, 2, 4 and 5 are unavailable to me since one of the last updates.

I'd say play it on Hard. The game is so fun, it really didn't bother me dying a few extra times and stretching out the experience. Besides, the game is pretty kind about having frequent checkpoints. There are only a few instances where you might die well into one of the games' large scale battles where you'll go "oh shit, I have to start this battle over now?", but there are really only a few of these in the game.

I could only change it after the headset was paired and on. Also make sure it's selected in the two options below the mic level (I forget what they're called).

If you have played the first game , or at least any other cover-based shooter, extensively then start on hard.
The enemy AI is better, and will force you to use your surroundings (thus making you appreciate the game more). It will be tough but doable.
If you haven't, or you hate tough challenges, start on normal and enjoy the ride. It won't matter anyway, 'cause you'll want to replay it on hard later :lol

It is, and I did try it while headset was on.

How did you pair it? By scanning for a bluetooth device or via the USB cable?

As there is only one person that I usually play Co-Op mode with, I've mostly been doing it two-man. It's definitely challenging (the final area on The Sanctuary, for example, is pretty tough even on Normal if you don't cheese it by
staying in the spawn area waiting for dead teammates to revive
), but we did Nepal Warzone on Hard in one night, and it was a hell of a lot of fun. So we decided to try it on Crushing last night.

And damn, it's BRUTAL. Took probably 2 or 3 tries (as in after having failed the mission) to get the strategy for the second area down, and then the 3rd just owned us.
The only good cover area is behind the desk near the alleyway, and with the enemies who drop down from the windows in the alleyway being semi-random, we often aren't able to tell when an armored shotgun enemy drop down from there. And if it happens while we're running between cover due to a grenade, there's almost no chance to react fast enough to deal with him first.

That said, I loved every moment of it (even the moments of cursing after I got shot-stunned while running from a grenade and then got blown up by a second grenade). And if anyone else is interested in doing Co-Op/Survival games (we usually do them pretty late at night, like after 2AM EST, as I'm a night owl and he's on PST) and have a mic, lemme know or just send me a PSN friend request (name is GokieKS) :D
