Such an amazing lookng scene. It's really something seeing the character move together
with some huge slow falling crumbling piece of bridge, and then you jump onto next one, or he just barely grabs the edge so you have to pull him up.
Crazy stuff, and there was such an incredible sense of volume and weight to the whole thing too.

Yeah. And
cliffhanger moments within that sequence aren't necessarily scripted. I played through it a few times because I kept dying, and sometimes you make jumps cleanly, other times you're finger-tip-hanging and scrambling to catch up so you don't fall too far behind. And yea about weight too...maybe the visuals and camera are doing something to your brain, but the sense of things giving way right under you 'feels' very spot-on.

I'd say surviving round 9 in co-op after having both of my teammates die in the beginning of the match, is up on my list. Almost all the other moments you already mentioned (although I would change the order a bit).

I've been there, right when my team was coming from behind to win at deathmatch. I got kicked out, so i'll never know how that ended :lol

HOW IN THE HELL AM I GOING TO TAKE DOWN A HELL-lo...
Love that quote lol

I'm replaying the beginning and this dialog intrigued me

Sully: Maybe if we follow the hose we'll get to the camp
Drake: You always follow the hose, just like in Montreal huh?
Sully: You're never gonna let that go are ya?

So... Who else wants to know what happened in Montreal?

Only if you're Lyulf. I read your post first before looking at who owned these words. Could of swore the writer would have been lyulf.

Anyone else wonder if that's it for
Chloe?

Was she the disposable Bond girl of Among Thieves?

I assume Elena will be back, Sully I'm sure. But if they're going to have another 'new side kick' in the next game that mightn't leave room for a Chloe appearance.

Then again they may not follow that formula again...maybe it'll be back to just Elena and Drake...or something else entirely.

It's pretty amazing that a game that is basically a tribute to Indiana Jones movies, was actually better written/acted/more interesting then the actual Indy 4 movie itself.

In my defense, I saw several red names when I threw the grenade. I had no clue the entire team would rush over there into my grenade.

She might have a guest appearance, or be replaced by an entirely new character. It wouldn't be a big loss, if you ask me (:p), but having her back would be nice.

Being colorblind is NOT an excuse for teamkilling :p

I think as the franchise grows they will expand their ensemble and more people will be making appearances in the games. That said, it means we'll be seeing a bit less of each. This game Sully was only involved for a part of the caper. Room had to be made for Chloe. I get the feeling Elena won't be the only woman in Drake's life for very long.

As for favourite moments:
Tank! Where's a rocket - where's a rocket? That was good.
Yeti! Get it off! Get it off! That was a tense fight. I thought Tenzin was dead.

If they bring her back for U3 here's how I think they'll do it.

Elena makes a brief appearance in the beginning (much like Sully) and then disappears for the greater part of the story. We eventually find Chole has fallen with the wrong crowd, and is working with the main villain. She decides at the last minute to do something good (aka the Vader/Emperor scenerio) and dies saving you. Someone improtant has to die in the third game. My bet is on Sully or Chole. Elena some how comes to the rescue in the final missions.

Don't feel bad. In one game I threw a grenade and the there was a pause to switch hosts. When the game kicked back in I finished throwing the grenade and killed most of my team because we were all back at the initial spawn point.

Dyno, you might want to use spoiler tags for that. At least for the last sentence.

My #1 ;

"There's a guy below you, there's a guy below you"

#1 for MP

A Lyulf with a RPG :lol

You know I was just thinking what it was that makes the action sequences in Uncharted 2 so incredible and I realized it's not the graphics: it's the physics.

The
hotel collapse
is amazing because of all the objects reacting realistically and the real sense of inertia and momentum you feel between yourself the
building
and all the objects flying around. If it was just as pretty but did not have that realistic interaction it would have had only a fraction of the impact.

The
train
level is a real physical
train
simulation. You can feel the
train weaving a path on the tracks
and that effects your aim and balance on top of it. The same scene with just a moving background (as is done in many other games) just would not have the same thrill.

If I look back on every wow moment and think "why did I enjoy that so much?" it wasn't just because it looked mind-blowing but because it felt right.

Uncharted 2 is as much a showcase for physics as it is for graphics.

no doubt. The programmers did a geat job of making movement feel as real as possible.

Actually I take that back. It depends on your teammates. No need to rationalize or do any shenanigans like apologizing if you happen to have losers like aj2lameforyou2, Ryanardo, or crushdance as greens :D .

I wouldnt give the physics the full credit. Sure they helped push it over the top. I think that what made UC2 so incredible was because the whole was greater than the sum of it's parts. Basically Synergy. I've come to the conclusion that it's not just 1 or 2 parts that make it so great. Even the camera work contributes alot. Even the little sway of the camera when you shoot adds tons to the overall effect. The animations played a big part in it too...they had some well done animation/physics blending (so dont discredit the animation :/). The sound (on a proper surround sound system) adds TOOONS to the experience. The gunshots were intimidating and lethal. Everytime I shot, I had a surge of adrenaline. Im not even going to go into graphics.....Everything played a huge role in the whole experience.

I'd say the camera plays even more of a factor than the physics. They obviously did their homework with what shots work in movies, etc, and went with these when needed. Camerawork, in my opinion, is the best way to build tension, excitement, and they did it masterfully. For example, when you first see the... you know in the "mountaineering" level, he just pops into the side of the frame... has you anticipating when he's actually showing up for the res of the level. During actual gameplay, the movement of the camera really helped center where the action was, where I think the camera can be a huge issue and deterant in other game, this was seemless.

Yeah, the camerawork is fantastic.

I agree with alterego on the general 'feeling' and motion though, be it physics/animation or both. The sense of weight and connection to what's happening on screen is really well done.

Played over a dozen matches today and didn't encounter any connection problems (or cheating, for that matter). Guess I'm just lucky. I think the replay are great not just for taking some awesome action shots, but also for figuring out how to improve your play.

These aren't in order

10) Climbing up the train the second time and listening to Drake bitch.
9) Clowns! segment
8) Tenzen butchering the Yeti with his blade.
7) The part before the trainyard fight where Drake is trying to tell Elena his plan and keeps getting interrupted/confused.
6) Ziplines, ladder boosts, and one-handed saves. -_-
5) "... If there's a zombie around this corner..." segment
4) "No Compassion, No Mercy" segment
3) Ice cave platforming (cogs and whatnot)
2) PRISON DRAKE/FLYNN interaction
1)Yeti Unmasking- Scooby dooby do...

Favorite MP moments:

1) Tripling the same three guys three times in a row (and getting a triple threat out of it.) (Plaza)
2) Tripling a group of three (and myself) with a grenade and spawning right alongside of them and taking them out during the confusion.
3) Killing Somnium whenever he goes for either my micro or shotgun.
4) Glitching with AJ (during custom games, of course)

Get a better connection :P

This ^

I was having terrible trouble with disconnects etc, I sorted my connection out (decided to run a wire rather my patchy wireless) and online is now completely smooth where as it was at times unplayable

Weird, I play over wireless and have never experienced any issues (except when playing LBP).

I did the connection test thing for PS3 and it said my DL speed was 600 kbps, very poor, and as I say Uncharted was unplayable online. Ran a wire and boom, 1.8 mb DL on testing and Uncharted is smoooooth. I have no idea what was wrong with my wireless but I'm not fussed, running the wire was no problem and well worth it for lag free gaming

Got my Platinum trophy the other night!
First one as well, I have never made such a blatant attempt to go for trophies/achievements in a game, and loved every minute of it.

Except for maybe the Steel Fist Expert minutes... that was pretty hellish until I found the perfect spot for it :lol

An amazing game and a fine exclusive to sit upon our shelves.
One of my favourite things about it (and the original Uncharted) was how organic the banter between characters is. The jokes/snipes are genuinely funny, and the acting is so natural.

This is the sort of game I'd like to show off to family members to show them why I'm in this biz.

My top ten moments off the top of my head, not in any order except for the final two.

- The Desperate Times battle ( the part with Chloe and the the grenade).
- When you first get to the train part when Drake is hanging off the side. Seeing it for the first time, it looked amazing.
- Where Am I... some of the best looking graphics I've ever seen. The atmosphere.. you can almost feel the clean and brisk mountain air. And being able to interact with the people.
- The whole part when you're Carrying Jeff, and Elena nearly getting blasted with an RPG and saying "I'm okaay" lol.
- Elena interrupting Drake and him saying "Would you listen! You never listen."
- Tenzin walking up to Drake when he's lying in the snow.
- Seeing the Yeti for the first time, when it's in the foreground of the screen.
- The big Path of Light puzzle
- The entire battle in Tenzins town

*Big end game -spoilers- ahead:

- ND making you think Elena might have died. Even though I didn't think they would do that it did make me a little nervous. An emotional moment in the game.

- The entire ending dialogue between the characters, and Drake finally getting with Elena. Some people thought him and Chloe make a better match, but when you consider Drake and Elena's history, including the first game, it was satisfying for me to see them get together. I liked it when he kissed her too.

I've been dodging this thread because I don't want to spoil anything, but I'm about a third through this and loving it. The game's presentation is just insane. Huge improvement over the first, and it absolutely sets the bar in terms of cinematic storytelling. The way they use the camera is just genius. Awesome, awesome game.

My favourite scene in the game is
running up the steps towards the end as the camera pans out till Drake looks tiny
, absolutely brilliant
