Any way to get the fucking steel fist expert trophy after the patch ? Apparently it doesn't count as "steel fisting" anymore when Nate kicks people and he does that randomly so it's pretty fucking hard to get 10 in a fucking row.

Fucking annoying to be stuck on that last one trophy.

I'm a level 50 and I'm probably the worst player you will ever meet. I get steamrolled by level 7's all the damned time. Gaf parties even get owned every once in a while. (If we face a team of assholes, Ryan just starts pumping it at the highest point in the map.) Then again, there are other times when we run into a team with high level players who can't even manage to kill us. (aj might have another picture where we went 50-2 against several level 40s - mgviperman was the only one of us to die.)

Also, in Plunder, you only need to two decent players to survive against a party of five. Or, one great player and me. HighLuxury and I, CHRP and I, & CrushDance and I were teams that faced "party bullies" that tried to farm and still managed to tie the game up before losing. (Once they realized they couldn't wipe their asses with us, they started to try and get the treasure again.)

Yeah, I'm wondering about this too. Having a hard time getting it.

MGO had like an average of 4000 players when I was playing (on the European servers). The US ones were about the same, and the Japanese ones would probably be around half that, so a total of 10,000.
Yeah, but that was MGO, the game that practically begged people to not play online, with its annoying initial setup :lol
I do think the same logic still applies though. Huge majority of people got the game with single player in mind first and foremost - myself included - and while I just played some MP last night and it was really great, any kind of deathmatch just can't possibly feel like the game I know and love. Co-op does however, so I think I will play that the most once I'm done with single player.

I think his shirt in UC2 is animated when it's wet.

I think he kicks people (to sleep) when you're not on the same level ground as them. Try to make sure you are. If you think the patch is the problem, delete it from the game data, disconnect from PSN and start the game. You'll start the game in a pre-patched state.

Dear Naughty Dog,

during Plunder could you make it a priority to get the idol when you push triangle and it's near weapons or grenades? I picked up 3 goddamn weapons and didn't manage to get the idol because I had wasted my time trying to push triangle at the right step so the opposing team eventually killed me. That was seriously fucking annoying and it has happened to me before. When the idol is right beside me I don't want to pick weapons I only want the damn idol. We lost the match because of this damnit.

That was a good game. Still pissed I ran into that rocket near the end.

What worked for me was chapter 4, with the swarm of guys in Borneo while Sully covers you with the sniper rifle. In very easy, using the defender, it takes 1 shot to set up the light gray enemies for a steel fist combo. The dark gray / black enemies need a second shot.

Take your time, make sure to get them from the front while standing on the same level as them. There's more than enough of them to line 10 in a row, and it's an easy restart is you make a mistake.

I really miss the animated shirt.
The wet effect is plain awesome, now if only it'd be consistent. Some water will get you wet, some won't. Really weird that it doesn't in the pool at Hotel Shangri-La. Hah, love Chloe's look when the wet shader is on. :D

I fired up the first game last night for a while, since I want to rebuild my complete save. Holy crap, it is definitely harder than 2. Some shootouts by the end of the game in HARD taught me humility. I'm feeling Crushing in U2 is about the same or less difficult than Hard U1.

And so the sell-out of the Fortune Hunter Edition begins:

That's definitely one zero too much. But what pisses me really off is the ignorance of the rest of the world. Making a contest for a win-only special edition only for one part of the world, but expecting the rest to buy the product without having a chance to win it.

Alright, i bought Uncharted 2, but only used.
Yeah that was pretty weak, although us Canadian got a sweepstakes contest for the FH edition. Here's to hoping!

God, how I hate when this shit happens.
If I'm next to the idol OF COURSE I want to pick up the idol, and I don't want to change my weapon.
If you're next to the idol, then most of the time someone will have been killed next to it, so there will probably be a weapon lying around.

Exactly. Some enemies and teammates had died there and it was full of weapons. It's the most goddamn frustrating thing especially if you die because you wasted time with this crap.

This.
Really frustrating when it happens, since being near a dropped idol usually reduces your lifespan to the next 5 seconds.

I wouldn't mind seeing a decent money bonus for a successful idol capture, too, see if it makes players care more.

No, because then the moneygrabbers will come up and don't play teamworkerish.

Huh? This is the first I'm hearing about a patch effecting the "Steel Fist Expert" trophy. I got mine just a few days ago, and not even half of my melee attacks were literal punches.

If you still need help, this method is pretty damn reliable:

Yeah I just started playing the multi, grenades are fucking nuts. Didn't take me long to figure out the play in close is to drop a grenade and then shoot the guy while he's trying to get away from it.

I played Sanctuary in my first match, felt this game was awesome, but after playing some more, a fair amount of the maps don't really seem to measure up as well. Nothing else I've played on has that cool vertical nature of Sanctuary. I spent half the time on that map just jumping around and climbing on shit.

Oh and having no access no the good boosters is ballz. If they're trying to put their own spin on perks, it's noteworthy that COD gave you the best stuff right off the bat.

Yeah, tried that during the beta and it was horrible. Your teammates would camp the treasure box and team kill you right before you score the treasure, then take it for themselves.

all of the good boosters come pretty early. I mainly use Down the Irons and Keep Firing. You get them pretty early on.

MNC said:

It's already at little teamwork the way it is, more incentive to rack up the kills than worry about the idol at all. At least, that's what I'm seeing in the random games I'm joining.

You're joking. I guess fighting the nature of the players is the biggest challenge.

You do get the good stuff right off the bat. Point & Shoot, From the Hip, Bandoleer, Keep on Firing, and even fluckatuck Down the Irons. Btw, if you use DtI, I will hunt you down and murder you as you sleep. Cheapest ass booster in the game. Only n00bs like viper and joe use it. :P

Off to play MW2 for a while. :( and then back to U2. :)

Yeah you have to get to level 14 to get Down The Irons, the best. Then you get Treasure Bearer at level 24. Only ones you need.

290 matches online so far, time for me to declare that...

I LOVE THIS GAME!

The solo is GOTY, and the multi is even better :D .

There is a perk that lets you see through walls! One that give you more grenades. One that drops a grenade when you die.
All of these are way cheaper.

Situational Awareness has a very limited proximity and even then it only shows your opponent's name. Plus, you can't be moving while using it.

Explosives Expert gives you an extra grenade slot, but you still only start with one grenade. Even then, very few people can even use grenades properly and end up throwing all three behind them when you chase them, completely missing you.

The only time Revenge is useful is when you have a grenade on you and somebody snaps your neck. That's the only time that grenade should hit anybody.

With Down the Irons, however, I can unload a clip into a square only slightly bigger than a character's head from across the map with the AK. Plus, two bullets slow a person down, so if I'm a foot from cover and get hit twice by someone using DtI, I won't be able to make it to that cover before dying.

People dislike seeing good game not earn it's sales just for a person to save 5 bucks.

I am not talking about 5$, more like 36$. The retail price is 64€ at amazon.de and i payed 40€. But the main reason for the used copy wasn't the savings, it was the Fortune Hunter Edition issue. At first i didn't want to buy Uncharted 2 at all, but after i rented it, i wanted to spend more time with it. It is a great game. Buying a used copy is my way of saying "Thank you for screwing us non-americans!".

I don't want the Fortune Hunter Edition handed to me, but a fair chance for everyone to win it. I am happy for everyone who won it (and doesn't sell it) and a bit jealous, but much more sad and pissed about not getting a chance to win it too.

Wow this game...

I've really been taking it easy with this game... and playing online then going back to single... I want to stretch out the game as long as I can..

But last night I reached chapter 6... And HOLY CRAP.... WTF?!?!
WTF!!! i was fighting and all of a sudden the building started crumbling....
and Ok.. let me preface this with the fact that RIGHT after this scene was over I exited and started over chapter 6... it was just too awesome
What made it especially soo awesome is that while the building was crumbling... a freaking Desk flew down and hit me in the head and Me and the desk went flying out the side of the wall... and that triggered the cut scene to put me in the next area..
But when that happened.. i was like OMG NOoo WTF HOLY CRAP!!!... What?!?! I survived !?!?! and then Drake freaking said the same thing...

WOW.

Some people god... But its ok, im sure you didn't know.
You know there is a rational reason why Europe gets left out of most of these contests other than game developers all collectively having hidden animosity towards euros. The reason could either be yes Naughty dawg truly hates those naughty nasty euros or maybe (this is highly unlikely) because europe encompasses so many different nations with such different laws and regulations. Trying to offer the same promotion across each european nation can be a true challenge as each added nation adds to the red and yellow tape obstacles significantly.

America on the other hand is one huge marketplace nearly the size of western europe's population with nearly the same business regulations across all 50 states.

Crazy discount on used games wherever you are, average in US is 5 bucks off retail.

But the Fortune Hunter edition is EXTREMELY hard to get anywhere you are..... it's not a LE or collectors edition, it's a very rare promo item with little print run for give aways and contests.

I know that legalities are the reason behind this, but i don't care. Do it for all, even if you have to do 50 sweepstakes or don't do it at all.

Better yet would have been to make a limited collectors edition. I would have payed for it, the book alone is absolutely gorgeous.

Forgive my ignorance, I'm at work, restricted access (miracle I can access GAF), and I can't see any sort of GAF friends list for this game. You guys have such a thing going here?

Read the OP in the MP thread over at the Online forum. We also have a PSN chat room we frequently use to party up.

Ditto. I love well done collectors editions. That's why i pre-ordered the CE of God of War 3 from gamestop instead of waiting for the european release. I have the feeling there won't be a similar CE for europe, just a plain steelbook with some codes for golden weapons.

Up to chapter 22 or 23 now (can't remember, haven't played in a week or so), but anyone else find this game....not quite as fun as Uncharted 1?

I mean, the game is better the 1 in ALMOST every way. But I think the levels just aren't as fun to play as number 1.

I mean, the biggest complaint I saw against Uncharted was that there was too much shooting, not enough platforming and exploration. Now in number 2, we're given MORE shooting and LESS platforming and exploration, and people are going gaga for it.

Seems confusing.

It's weird, so many people I know bought Uncharted 1 well after it came out after hearing so many good things about it, and they promptly bought U2 day one, and sooo many have returned it, they just didn't enjoy it much.

Like I said, I feel the game is better in every other way. Graphics, control, story, and I actually really liked the stealth mission. But for some reason, the rest of the game, while great, doesn't feel as fun to play as Uncharted 1.

Anyone else feel the same? or am I imagining things?

Oh well, maybe I'll just have to wait longer. Until then, I'll keep playing Ratchet. Fucking amazing game.

I'll go back to Uncharted 2, just not yet. Ratchet, MW2, DJ Hero, Tekken and soon NSMBWii will be taking up a lot of time.

Too many fucking good games to buy.

I think I like Uncharted 2 more than 1, but one of the things I really miss in UC2 is that feeling of continuity. Like, when you're in the jungle in UC1, you can see the Custom's House waaaaaaay across the ocean. It felt like one giant interconnected journey. UC2 doesn't quite give the same feeling, each section feels a bit more separated, despite its eventual settling down in Nepal post-Chapter 5.

I'm a sucker for big, continuous worlds in linear games (God of War, Half-Life 2 etc).

Yeah I know what you mean.

But to be honest, I didn't actuallt notice that missing from 2. I just felt the levels weren't quite as enjoyable to play as 1. They're still great, hopefully no one thinks I'm saying the levels suck.

Being not as fun as fucking awesome is still pretty awesome, but I just REALLY wanted to replay Uncharted 1 as soon as I beat it, and I wanted to beat it all straight away. I ended up playing through 1 3 times BEFORE the trophy patch came, and another 2 times AFTER the patch.

I'm kinda forcing myself through ONE playthrough of two, and DREADING the idea of attempting Crushing.

I have a funny feeling it COULD be because I'm trying to get all the treasures on this playthrough, rather than taking in the scenery and really getting into the game. I'm constantly scouring the environment for that shimmer.

Maybe that's it.
