I think I like Uncharted 2 more than 1, but one of the things I really miss in UC2 is that feeling of continuity. Like, when you're in the jungle in UC1, you can see the Custom's House waaaaaaay across the ocean. It felt like one giant interconnected journey. UC2 doesn't quite give the same feeling, each section feels a bit more separated, despite its eventual settling down in Nepal post-Chapter 5.

I'm a sucker for big, continuous worlds in linear games (God of War, Half-Life 2 etc).
I agree. I loved most of the game being one single. huge, level in Uncharted 1 (I didn't even mind the little backtracking it had), and the different locations you travel between in Uncharted 2 felt like a step back in that regard.
I know Naughty Dog wanted to give bigger variety to the environments, but this made the world feel a bit less cohesive.

Done that 3 times now and no trophy

I got mine this past Sunday, after any real or perceived changes on how it's activated.
Just make sure you're doing a single frontal melee hit, and that it's the killing blow. Any stealth "one kill" moves erase the 10 in a row streak.

Yeah I know what you mean.

But to be honest, I didn't actuallt notice that missing from 2. I just felt the levels weren't quite as enjoyable to play as 1. They're still great, hopefully no one thinks I'm saying the levels suck.

Being not as fun as fucking awesome is still pretty awesome, but I just REALLY wanted to replay Uncharted 1 as soon as I beat it, and I wanted to beat it all straight away. I ended up playing through 1 3 times BEFORE the trophy patch came, and another 2 times AFTER the patch.

I'm kinda forcing myself through ONE playthrough of two, and DREADING the idea of attempting Crushing.

I have a funny feeling it COULD be because I'm trying to get all the treasures on this playthrough, rather than taking in the scenery and really getting into the game. I'm constantly scouring the environment for that shimmer.

Maybe that's it.

I stopped doing that and enjoyed U2 even more. The treasures are fun to find, but looking around for them constantly totally destroys the pacing of the game. So, if you happen to find one as you're going along, great, but don't spend an inordinate amount of time your first play through on treasure hunting.

Enjoy the game and story the first time. Go for the 100% completion after!

Just did it again and nothing.

Here's what I did:

-Very Easy
-Chapter 4: The Dig

Aim with L1 and shoot an enemy below the waist ONCE with a pistol then run up to them and hit square. Just make sure you're approaching them from the front... you don't want any stealth kills. I was keeping track and I didn't get the trophy until around 12 or 13 so just keep going even if it doesn't register at 10. Avoid the guys in Black since they take more damage and you don't want to risk shooting them one too many times or entering a melee battle with them.

Beat Crushing and am going for said medal/trophy above. Then all I have to do is get the Gau-19 kill one and I am set.

For what it's worth, I seemed to have a harder time in the end half of the game than on Crushing, esp. with the last boss.

Then... back to Multiplayer I suppose.

Personally I'd take variety of environments over one large flowing level every time. This game takes you all over the place which only adds to the adventure for me

Gosh Im now torn between playing the multiplayer in Modern Warfare 2 or to just keep playing in Uncharted 2. I wish U2 had as many options as MW2 has, and I wish MW2 carried the same feeling of excitement or so that U2 has.

Anyway, Ive finally reached rank 38, I feel odd being the highest ranked on a team now though, I feel expected to carry the team in deathmatch (especially when the team is full of rank 5 and lower people :( ) who dont move when a grenade is right in their face.

That's it exactly, I explained the same thing a few posts earlier. Only difference for me was I used the guys in black also, two shots at the chest level works consistently.

While we're talking about these, even though it's a medal rather than a trophy, how do you achieve Riot Rocker? Description says "Defeat five Riot Shield enemies by running over their shield". Getting anywhere near these guys usually means taking a shield full to the face. If there's a better way than flanking, sniping a protruding hand, or grenading, I'd love to know.

Actually, they were mid-air and 15 feet away from your grenade.

I'm torn, because I want to go back to playing Killzone 2 MP and MGO, but I'm just having a lot of fun with Uncharted 2 MP. I certainly didn't like the U2 Multi when I first started, but it has continued to grow on me.... darn it. :lol

Being able to jump around, pull people from ledges, and so on, it's just so addictive.

Shoot them on the shield so they kinda tip over to the back, then run up to their front and hit square when prompted, then finish the prompt so you kill them.

yeah, the general character movement is the bit that keeps me wanting to come back and play more.

if only I had time... oh well, exams finish on Monday

Well, after playing through MW2's singleplayer mode, I've decided that the FAL in U2 needs to be like it is in that. Like the pistol, but in rifle format/added power.

It's already at little teamwork the way it is, more incentive to rack up the kills than worry about the idol at all. At least, that's what I'm seeing in the random games I'm joining.

You're joking. I guess fighting the nature of the players is the biggest challenge.

Actually, I'd settle for a "Win" bonus. Right now, it doesn't matter.

Getting MW2 on Friday and Tekken 6 for the Missus, so might not be around for a while.

FINALLY, will be getting my copy of the game tomorrow. So freaking excited! I'm sure it will have been worth the wait. Been on a media blackout for this game for so long.

I just played half a dozen games via the Objectives playlist and they were some of the best games I've played yet. Leave it to MW2 to draw away the uncooperative types. :lol

I hope the free dlc be the Uncharted Drake's Fortune costume. I want to dress in that original costume.

All I want is Gabriel Roman and Elena's first model skin for MP.

Elena's U1 costume was actually included the MP beta. Let's hope they bring it back in DLC. I also look forward to leather-jacket Sully as appeared in (spoiler~)
the SP ending cutscene.

Just came in here to say that I can safely say I will be sticking with Uncharted 2 as my MP game of choice this season, because it's still the best MP experience I've had.

So, anyone not jumping on the MW2 ship that wants to play, feel free to send me a PM.

I have no home internet as I just moved and the phone is getting reconnected ATM and also, well then the internet which is like a 1-2 week wait. And I miss my UC2 MP game! was having such a great time with it too. :S

ah well, the move was terribly painful though. And my tvs not set up anyhow.

I'll take Navarro, who's already out there. If I could get my hands on one of those codes to unlock him...

We're definitely missing Eddy "I kill you Drake!" Raja too, as someone else mentioned not too long ago.

14, 6, 6, 9, 8 vs 41, 32, 45, 40, 29 in a game of turf war. Yes, that's levels on each team.

Well I just beat Modern Warfare 2 Single Player campaign and I can officially say that Uncharted 2 will by my GOTY. I know that you all care so much about my opinion :lol

Only remaining competitor is NSMBWii but I'm not holding my breath on that one.

Just beat the game tonight, my GOTY so far, really really good.

Final boss was annoying, but I rarely like boss fights so meh. Those ancient dudes were also really tough, but satisfying when you took them down.

Just a superb game overall tho, can't wait for U3!!!

Yikes, 5600 players? Damn you MW2.

I went on a few days before MW2 launced and there were only 8,500 online, was there a time when UC 2's multi had 50,000 plus online at once? I wasn't really digging the multi, but the singleplayer is amazing. MW2 will give me my multi fix.

The highest I've seen was around 20,000 at once a few days after launch; not bad.

But I was like "DAYUM" when I saw over a quarter million people playing the PS3 version of MW2 at once.

You might wanna spoiler tag that.

So far all the 50 games or so I've played have been great. Doable lag and haven't encountered any cheaters, yet.

After playing multiplayer, I wish pressing circle to roll didn't make you take cover (nothing dumber than taking cover in front of an obstacle!) and that jumping didn't make you automatically grab on a ledge. I think someone mentioned they could implement a tap versus hold mechanism to distinguish between the two.

I hope the game does well. Not necessarily CoD well, but RE or MGS well.

Man, they need to put a big "Come try Multiplayer!" announcement on the main game screen. There is probably over $1M copies sold already, and having 5k on is way disappointing. MM was way too slow tonight.

Or something. More people should experience the awesomesauce that is Uncharted 2 MP.

I agree, what could they possibly do to convince folks to try MP though? Not a lot, they did what they had to do, which was give us a solid competitive and co-op experience, they could've done more with dedicated servers, CS, etc, but the experience is solid, I'm not sure what exactly they could do to get more folks playing online, maybe set up tournaments and give the winning teams a prize or something?

In Sweden we had a tournament arranged by the gaming store Webhallen.
