Uncharted 3 MP Beta Thread: Cinematic Murder Testing

It's a bad system, and i doubt i'm in the minority in thinking this. What if in SOCOM/Battlefield/COD, you had to defuse/plant 1 bomb each time you wanted to change loadouts? It's ridiculous!

I reject your point about wanting people to explore, because if they did they would of kept the system from Uncharted 2 and had no loadouts. Also i dont recall other weapons around the map unless it's a power weapons like Pistole, Dragunov Sniper, Grenades etc. The only other 'loadout' weapons you will find are from dead bodies.

Feel free to correct me on that first 2 sentances (because i could be wrong) but i stand by the rest.

Press R1 on the loadout you want while you are in the competitive loadout section in customization.

You can choose what loadout you want at the start and set any of them as default.

As for the rest, Uncharted is not SOCOM/Battlefield/COD. All the requests to make the health similar to CoD ruined Uncharted 2 multiplayer and destroyed what made it unique.

I agree about the maps needing ammo spawn points for the loadout weapons, though.

Thankfully how it was finally balanced was a huge improvement over how the game was when it launched.

I don't want it to be like those games, I'm not asking for health changes or anything else. The core gameplay in Uncharted is fine, all i'm asking for is for the 3 medal penalty for changing weapons to be removed. It should be free.

You can keep saying it, but you will still be wrong. It was unbalanced after the update. You may have liked it better, however, it completed eliminated a good 75% of possible tactics. It made many guns overpowered and it damn near removed the traversal elements from the gameplay.
 
I had a BLAST playing the beta yesterday. I wasn't having fun the first two games or so, then I got the hang of it. I never touched U2 mutliplayer, but I'll definitely be getting into this when it arrives!

May I ask you why? Because it's free in games with different gameplay? I gave you a likely reason to show why it's the way it is. You can set your loadouts for free before any match. Why would you need to change them more than a few times per match anyway? It's a honest question, I never changed them mid-match once.

Why not? I always change loadouts in other games, i like to mix it up. But why should i be punished for doing so? If your VSing an agresive team of snipers on the enemy team, and you want to counter them with your own Sniper rifle why should i pay a 3 medal penalty on my next life and be at a further disadvantage? I bet if ND put a poll up it would be in favour of getting rid of the 3 medal penalty.

Well, duh, I doubt many would vote in favor of getting any penalty :p
This wouldn't mean a penalty doesn't make sense here, as penalties exist to shape the gameplay a certain way. In this case, it's probably a compromise to allow for different loadouts (something that was probably requested many times) while still keeping the switching limited. Anyway, we clearly have a different opinion on this, so no point in discussing it further I guess.
 
Anyone else have all their stats wiped? I played last week and got to rank 5 after a couple matches and upgraded some weapons and customized ky characters. I logged in last night and everything is gone, no stats, no ranks and default characters. Only thing that didn't get wiped was my boosters
 
Does anyone else think the buddy system needs more incentive?

The co-kills and high-fives are great, but i'm sure there would be more incentive for people to work together if the rewards were greater.
 
First game I choose was Coop Hunter... what an awful mode for your first. I thought it was coop like U2.

Give it a try later again, but being matched with people in the 20's and 30's, with dozens of NPC around too was annoying as fuck.
 
Disabled the accumulation of medals to stack Medal Kickback activations. Now, if your Medal Kickback is waiting to be activated, you cannot earn more medals that count towards your Medal Kickback counter until you have activated your current Medal Kickback.

Like many others said, I dont like this... some one suggested to increase the amount of medals required which sounds like a good solution.

Smoke Bomb and Speedy G set to 9 instead of 7, with stacking, would probably be fine.

Is matchmaking working for any of you. I am playing from Pakistan, so that might explain why I wait so long, but I've never waited over 30 minutes for a match... :-/.

It wasn't working for me earlier. When it seemed to finally start working, and it paired me with 5 more people, we all stayed stuck in matchmaking too. We didn't even start a 3 vs. 3 match.
 
I think a better way to fix the stacking issue is make the amount per use increase for the cheaper ones. So kickback is 7 the first time, then 11, then 15, etc. so you can still stack it, but you can't get 4-5 in a row due to the low cost.

My friend really wants in on it, but has been unsuccessful so far. He missed the PS+ option due to being on vacation recently.

way strong winds... no beach for us today so I'll be playing U3b at a friend's (after the SFIV AE PC fiasco)... hope to meet you there my fellow GAF friends, I want to try the new modes and stuff!

Matchmaking is still broken. Patch really "fixed" it... o.O

EDIT:

Lince, yesterday I had the high honor to play with FFO. It was an amazing experience. He failed over and over again.

I see that UC3 is doing more graphically regarding lighting but for some reason I went back to play some UC2 in the temple level and it looked better. TBH it's the best looking level anyway so...
 
I'm so glad they put in a mode like Team Objective. I was so addicted to Killzone 2 because of the Warzone mode, and now with something like it in Uc3 I'm never going to stop. I kind of wish they'd add plunder to the mode, though.

You're lucky. I've gotten more than I can count. I've had numerous instances of I'm nowhere near the damn guy and I watch him melee AIR and it counts as a hit, and this game ALWAYS gives the guy the second melee if I try to back up from his first... he just sits there and swings at air again as I'm trying to back off and shoot or just run off, and he'll get his melee kill.

The fact you two above haven't run into this is probably due to this games absurd use of hosting, and you getting to be hosts. This game needs dedicated servers and less auto aim/tracing bullets. Go watch the new Uncharted TV for kills of the week to experience the games lag moments and tracing bullets caught on tape. There's clips in it where a guy throws a grenade, it detonates, the guys caught by the radius are still able to move, and then 2 seconds later it records them all dead. Or a guy is shooting at someone from above, and the guy below jumps away, and ends up 100% safe in a room under the guy above with NO LINE of sight, yet he gets killed by the guy above shooting at nothing.
