The trasversal element is pretty important in this series, conforming to other games is what got us 1.05 in Uncharted 2.
Unless i'm completly missing something the game doesn't even let you choose what loadout you want at the start, you have to set everything to Loadout 1 if you want to use a Sniper for example straight up. There is no 'select which loadout you want' it just goes stays at 1, and if you want to change, BANG 3 medals. Want to change again next life? Another 3 medals and so on.
It's a bad system, and i doubt i'm in the minority in thinking this. What if in SOCOM/Battlefield/COD, you had to defuse/plant 1 bomb each time you wanted to change loadouts? It's ridiculous!
I reject your point about wanting people to explore, because if they did they would of kept the system from Uncharted 2 and had no loadouts. Also i dont recall other weapons around the map unless it's a power weapons like Pistole, Dragunov Sniper, Grenades etc. The only other 'loadout' weapons you will find are from dead bodies.
Feel free to correct me on that first 2 sentances (because i could be wrong) but i stand by the rest.
