Uncharted 3 MP Beta Thread: Cinematic Murder Testing

The shooting is so slow...it's like....babam.....babam....babam...oh...still alive...babam. But it should be BADADADADADADADAM and DEAD.

EDIT:

Oh and the gun sounds are way too loud compared to the ambient.

amazing, plunder matches with people actually trying to get to the treasure, looks like i'm going to be addicted again, too bad there isn't a join game to a friend, but understandable because there isn't always an empty slot for 5vs5 lol

Some quick feedback after a few hours of Team Deathmatch:

+ The core game is fun, I'll obviously keep playing and try out the other modes
+ The Chateau map is very good, focused but with a good deal of freedom

- The first part of the Airstrip map is awesome the first time you play it, but gets tiresome soon
- Not feeling much the second part of the Airstrip map, the layout seems a bit too dispersive
- The handgun is far too weak, the UZI makes it completely pointless
- Not enough shotgun spawn points (unless I missed them somehow)
- Boosters, Kickbacks and Power Plays make the games a clusterfuck (OMG ninja smoke bombs! and people turn into skeletons! and... and...!!!) and only dilute the gameplay. I mantain they're a bad idea all around, and I can easily see myself self-contained to Hardcore playlists only in the future

Airstrip feels off, too flat and too square. Chateau is nice.

Hardcore and Plunder are the way to go. Thank god there are no power play bullcrap in Plunder. Standard Deathmatch is a disaster.

Completely agree. Airstrip doesn't seem very good to me.
Several parts look samey and it's hard to mantain a sense of direction. Also, once you're past the ZOMG AWESOME first impression, the part in the beginning gets old fast.

I'll be trying out the other modes later tonight, hopefully with GAF (speaking of which, I need an invite to the GAF chatroom, if we have one).

Hardcore is more fun but standard Team DM seems like the quickest way to level up. Considering how much of a disadvantage low level players have to deal with, I have to stick with it for now.

About the shotgun, I have seen only one spawn point in Airstrip (
small office on the second floor of the main building
) and zero in Chateau. Is this correct?

How many times a match can Power play occur? I always thought it was once a match within the last 45 seconds or so.
I have seen Power Plays at least twice in the same match. Possibly even more.

O that shit got to go, once a match makes sense if they are going to keep it in the game. Off to the beta forums to bitch GAF, the sorceress demands it.

The beginning of airstrip is fuckign garbage. Heroes have a huge advantage. Who the hell designed this crap.

Yeah, I don't really care about this cinematic crap. It's not even a good layout to begin with.

+1

You end up fighting with the trucks, hoping for the damn plane to take off as soon as possible.

A much better layout would have had both heroes and villains starting from opposite sides and both trying to board the plane.

There doesn't seem to limit. I had a match with about 5 power plays because the other team was down big.

Yeah, there seems to be no limit to powerplays. The first match I played only one happened right at the end in a close game with wonderfully made them win because they spawned right behind the VIP we needed to protect. The other time we were waaay ahead and a few happened. Then when they took the lead off it the game never gave us one and we lost.

Powerplays are one of the stupidest things I've ever seen, so I guess I'll stick to plunder for awhile. I've also had PSN lose connection and hard freeze my PS3 after every single game so far.

I love that there is no K/D tracking outside of in-game leaderboards. GAF should collectively request that feature.

I wish this was done in every game and they only tracked W/L. Allows for better objective games and less camping.

I only played two co-op matches on airstrip, was fun enough but nothing really spectacular.
Whatever they have for AA seems good enough, didn't really see any jaggies.Graphics are fine overall, but expected a bit more of upgrade.

The system freeze after match is just terrible though, can't believe they let this happen!

I've played quite a good number of matches (up to level 15) and I have not had the game freeze on me after a match. It froze on me on the main menu though.

I'd say they've changed the core gameplay substantially. For reasons I don't understand. Why mess with something that already worked? Sure your healthbar is bigger now, but they've changed everything else. It almost seems to be like a futile attempt to go complain about this kind of thing in the beta forum, seems to be a conscious decision to mess with UC2's mechanics.
Seems like I'm getting my day 3 impressions within the 1st few hours and a lot of the stuff I'm hearing confirms my fears about the game. (SO FAR)

I'm wondering if health will start to seem much lower when ppl start leveling up. Nowadays, its like the more the community plays...the less health everyone has because of all the boosters/upgrades/mods/etc that you obtain.

Gah,
This sounds like just what I figured it would be. A fun multiplayer that I wont care to stick around for. It'll be fun at 1st and the wow factor will be there but when that point comes when I want to start playing competitively....I'll be disappointed to no end. TDM 5v5 sounds like a big clusterfuck so far and people havent even gotten all the booster/etc yet. Hell they dont even have all of the boosters/kickbacks/powerplays in this beta and it's already sounding like a clusterfuck.

Im looking forward to hearing more impressions about the changes/additions. They dont sound too hot so far.

I feel like I'm going to break my PS3 resetting it after all these freezes. Game has frozen after every match except one.
