Uncharted 3 MP Beta Thread: Cinematic Murder Testing

Medal Kickbacks are not as bad as I thought they were. Power plays could be toned down a little. Smokebomb is awesome. GMAL is beasty. Micro is beasty. Most of the boosters seem useless though. overall beta is a lot of fun, got to level 21 tonight. Looking forward to Yemen.

Sadly for the other team the VIP was a low level and didn't really have a clue that he was meant to be hiding/protecting himself - We killed him enough times to win the game quite comfortably.

I mean I'm all for giving the losing side an incentive to make a comeback but teams shouldn't get punished for winning.

I'm not against them in principal, unlike some people, but I do think they need to be toned down from what I've experienced so far. Also there needs to be some sort of check against the losing team doing too well. For example if the double damage power play comes into effect the losing team should lose 5 seconds on the timer for every consecutive kill they get
 
I wish they would get rid of the matchmaking. For me it always puts me in really laggy games after 15-20 minute wait for a match.

Aaand it reset my console. Funny thing, I have my ps3 for about 1,5 year now and the only games that did this during patching were yesterday's Journey Beta and UC3.

Thank you so much for the patch. It's back to 100% normality! Played a bunch of games right now...I'm level 20 already! I finally got used to the aiming of the guns now so I don't suck at aiming like when I first started playing. I've been buying different medal kickbacks and so far the smoke bomb is the best. The only problem is that the medal requirement is 7, which is very low and you can stack them up. I've had like 5 smoke bomb medal kickbacks stacked up. The medal requirement either needs to be increased or make it so that your medals don't stack up.

The cluster grenade bomb thing was kinda lame. It's hard to find great spots to throw it and cause damage to kill more than one person. The thousands of explosions is awesome, though.

Co-op is so fucking good. God, they made it more intense and fun from UC2 and I LOVE IT. Those RPG guys are so deadly. :D One thing I'm not a fan of though is that it's time based. It's the only 'con' I can think of. Time based sucks. Give us unlimitted time like on UC2.
 
Glad it was patched already. I'm not starting work until 10 this morning so I'm going to jump on and play some more.
 
I would LOVE to know if anyone has been able to create a new account?
I just got myself a PS3 and I cant make a PSN account!
I get as far as telling it what I want my online name to be and it tells me I cant have it, yet I have tried MANY permutations of it, and the website is down for maintenence too, what do I do, I wanna get in on this beta too!

Holy Shit, people are already ranked in the 20's? Looks like leveling up won't be as bad as I thought it would be.

Also, props to ND for working through the night to get that patch out.

I can't wait to try this when I get back from work.
 
Yay its fixed had a bunch of flawless games, hitcode alot better than U2 or i maybe because me or one of my 4 friends were the host (same country)

One more reason to wish an option for region locked matchmaking was available, it would help alot not to play with south american players etc being from europe
 
So I downloaded it last night, and barely playable until this morning.... and now it's better. Thank You ND :D

Uncharted3beta a bit more weighted (floaty?) compare to U2, but I think the Multiplayer system is still fun.

Hope everything is getting better and better till its release

This is what iget written in red whenever I try to fill in my online ID
The Online ID must contain alphanumeric characters, can include underscores or hyphens and must be between 3 and 16 characters in length. The first character must be a letter of the alphabet.
 
The patch was magic. Game actually works again and things feel a lot better.
I tried three team deathmatch, damn that was fun. The sudden death gets really tense as well.

I would really like to help. but qriocity is not supported up here in my Country, so I cannot make an account for you.. maybe someone in the US or elsewhwere (where the site works) can try to make an account for you..?
 
Can't stand this game's matchmaking. I still shudder thinking of the wait times I occasionally had during Uncharted 2. I wish they realized gamers were smart enough to pick from servers.

Otherwise this is really fun stuff. Loving their new coop arena mode.
 
So the patch restarted my console 3 times before it was applied, then I made it all the way to press square customization screen then it kicked me back to the XMB. Tried again got like 5 session manager errors then another freeze. I am running an early Slim by the way which has no freezing problems with other games. So this is buggy as heck and I can't even get in after patch and the freezing can't be too good for the console (file system) I would guess.
 
Got one game in before my console froze. So I don't think that patch helped

Seems fun, I like the changes to the gameplay. UC for me has always felt a bit loose, the controls are definitely a bit heavier now. I think the balance still isn't quite there though, they need to give more speed and purpose to the sprint movement, right now you can't really tell the difference.

OK, glad to see that's not just me. I just had that happen, lolol

I suck at this game still, but I'm enjoying it. I definitely think this is better looking than Uncharted 2, the Chateau level looks stunning. And the beginning of Airstrip, hooooooly shit. I do miss the colour of some of U2's environments (I want snow again :( ) but I presume they'll be coming back as DLC anyway so whatever.
 
after 3 hours of smooth awesome play with GAF the server crapped on us all with a nice hard lockup, even the most flawed game is fun to play with GAF friends, specially when they're Uncharted Hero Kings such as Ryan or Irish...

Sounds more like a REAL beta test and not glorified preorder demo nonsense most are putting out that see little to no changes till release. Game still has quite a bit of time before release, so it's good for the beta to be out now with all these problems.
