Uncharted 3 MP Beta Thread: Cinematic Murder Testing

Co-op is up. Right now it's Arena, and it's suprisingly cool. It switches between a type of Plunder-mode and "kill enemeis but only from this designated area" every other wave you get up.

Didn't play it too much, but what I played was really fun. Didn't think it would switch up that much. Looking forward to Adventure Coop though.
 
any kind souls out there want to PM me a code? I would really appreciate it.

the OP says PS+ members.. I take it that excludes people who have the free trial of PS+?
 
Well.......I'm schooling everyone in my matches.

Fuck this MP is addicting.

Like, it is honest to goodness, good. Plus it feels SOOOOOO much smoother now. A lot less jank then U2 mp.

The Killcam UI is ugly as fucking sin though.

Not sure how I feel about AK47 sound change.

Lot more recoil for the guns too. I cant spam the pistol anymore because of the recoil.
 
Pistols in UC2 > UC3. Something feels off about them this time. As a primary pistol player in UC2, it's really hard for me to have it as my main weapon in UC3 because the other guns feel a lot more better and do more damage. It's also hard to find ammo in co-op for pistols..hell, in regular deathmatch too. The grenades remained the same like in E3, but they feel so odd compared to Uncharted 2's grenades. They feel very delayed for some reason.

Plunder is broken by the way. The treasure icon glitches and stays in the spot where the treasure spawns, but it's not really there. People keep going to the spot thinking they're going to get the treasure, but it's not. if you're not paying attention to where the action is happening (since it occurs wherever the treasure is) you'll be running around the map trying to look for it.

The cursed power play is the worst thing ever. Please remove it.

I hate blindfire, just seems cheap and overpowered at close range, and it annoys me seeing 2 drakes running around at once, more character models would be nice 3 of each kind just seems...lazy did uncharted 2 have more?

these are small gripes having alot of fun, can you buy a shield or are they just scattered on certain levels?
 
I am from the UK and have my Infamous 2 code ready to get Uncharted 3 beta, but it seems to I have to wait until 10PM (my time) to get it.

played a game where the other team got a powerplay when the scores were 47-44. They won. Always nice to have a victory robbed by gimmick bullshit.

Agreed. Pistols are nerfed, definitely can't spam it or melee right after a shot. The grenade from when it leaves the animation is a bit delayed. It's not bad though. No more grenades at the feet before dying. I have to say, I think there might be a little too much health. Either that, or the AK sucks. Not sure which it is yet.

Agreed. Pistols in UC2 had barely any recoil and in many cases were more deadly than AKs in many cases (unless you were a DTI junky).

Now does that really make sense to you? A standard pistol being more deadly than an automatic rifle from long range? NO.

It has plenty of recoil, it just recoils straight up. :p

I use the pistol 95% of the time; it's the most versatile weapon in the game, and it's very well-balanced.
Except for the 1shot + melee = kill, that came about with 1.05

It reminds me of the Halo: CE pistol.

Ryan, I eagerly await your rage at how you see how bad they have fucked up the pistol. Micro is still badass though.

Unless you are fighting in close combat, the pistol is not a good primary weapon to use like it was in U2. Taking someone out with the pistol who was a good deal away was possible in U2, I don't see it being very viable in U3.

I would like to see less recoil for the pistol with maybe reduced damage to compensate? Not 100% sure here yet.

Sorry for the double post, but I'm on my phone and for the life of me find it hard to quote another person to edit my original post.

Yes. They're definitely nerfed. It's the recoil. Personally, I'm OK with the blindfire sucking since that was annoying in UC2 where people only used the pistol at close range for that reason alone. However, I loved using it as my main weapon for long range. In UC3, I'm finding it hard to keep the cursor focused on the guy because the cursor is constantly moving. It takes more shots from the pistol to successfully kill someone than with a long range weapon too. I've noticed a few inconsisties with the health as well. Sometimes it'll take a few shots to kill someone (and I know that person who I've been shooting hasn't been hit by anyone else other than me) and other times it'll take more bullets. Overall I find the health at an acceptable level. It's the AK47 that sucks. It spreads out way too much. Use the other one that's like the FAL. It's much better.

Still kinda bitter about the pistol nerfing. It was perfect in UC2.

Do 'Welcome Back' PS+ members get access to the beta? Or paid PS+ only?
 
Spawn points are wonky, I walk in the room of 3 enemies players that suddenly appear out of now where.

From what I understand it's only on the Hong Kong PSN store right now. And those with Hong Kong PS+ accounts are trading it around.

People don't know for sure, there are various theories. If I had to guess I'd say, if you are in the US, you will get access regardless of how you got PS+. If you aren't, that remains to be seen.

It will available on welcome back plus too , but in Europe it isn't up yet . so find an angel who gives you a Hong Kong account !
