eh i'll try tomorrow

That's so...disturbing in a way. I'll dream of that guy.

I see you are able to change the field of view in the cinema (replay) mode.
Can you do so ingame too?

My ps3 just froze while watching the replay of my first match btw, had to reset.

So... do you guys turn off the HQ settings on your mic (if you're using the official PS3 one) in order to stop it from picking up everything?

Downloading now. Hopefully it'll be working by the time my crappy connection finishes with it. I guess I'll just do some cases in LA Noire to pass the time.

There's something wrong with your internet connection. Do you have NAT2?

It says my NAT type is type 2 and I have it plugged in with an Ethernet cord. It's been this slow for big downloads for as long as I can remember.

The official headset picks up everything, and I mean EVERYTHING!

Maybe turn down the microphone level to 2 but it may mean you have to speak up :p

Also if you can manage with a wired headset I recommend this http://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B000TLNTYY/. The noise cancelling is great :) but no mute button

I have the same problem. But XBox live downloads nice and fast for me it's just PSN thats slow as a tortoise.

Thanks. Is it annoying for everyone when someone comes into a game with one? I spent 40 bucks on this so... I don't really want to get something else too.

Damnit man...for a second it "found players" all with green bars too. Then the dumbass matchmaking goes and searches again for "optimal game." Forget that shit, just let me play these guys.

Well, what's your connection speed? Like I said, I consistently get 2-3 MB/s downloads from PSN. That's not great on a 100 Mbps (12.5 MB/s) connection, but perfectly acceptable for a free service.

Yeah. I don't have an Xbox, but I have a friend who has both. His PS3 downloads shit just as slowly as mine, but the 360 never goes that slow.

Maybe it has to do with where I live or something?

I find some times the game picks up the noise but doesn't broadcast it, it certainly happens in Killzone 3, test it in the Accessory settings > Audio device settings menu to see how much the mic picks up.

It was picking up a decent amount, but with the game going on I couldn't really hear the quieter noises, though they were there in the background.

Someone needs to update the MGO Beta gif.

Oh the memories. I remember the registration website had a timer so you had to save all of the fields as you progressed and even then it was a crapshoot if the page would go through or not.

In the mean time I'll post my impressions of 3~ hours of gametime with the beta.

I went in expecting a reskinned version of Uncharted 2. I thought it would play exactly like UC2MP, only with new maps and modes. I was very wrong, the core gameplay mechanics have changed substantially for anyone that put and still puts serious time into UC2MP. I will allay some of your fears, it has not been COD-ified, on the contrary it's pretty much the opposite. It's now a slower game. Aiming is slower, you move slower, you jump slower, you climb slower, hell you even punch slower. In tandem with the health increase(I'm not 100% but I think it's back to 1.04 levels) it feels very differently from Uncharted 2. Just moving around feels heavier, a bit clunkier. I wish Arne would tells us if the gameplay mechanics are in stone or if it's still a work in progress. At first, I was annoyed, but I'm getting used to it. So if you're a UC2 veteran don't expect to steamroll through the competition too badly. :P

Power Plays have their ups and downs. Cursed, where everyone gets turned to skeletons and you can't tell friend for foe it's terrible. Whoever thought of this should be demoted to serving coffee and toasting sandwiches. Please please please don't have this in the final game. It's not the LEAST bit fun for the winning team, it's just garbage. On the OTHER hand, you have Marked Man, which is pretty exciting and the same thing as Assassination from KZ2. Fun for both teams. See ND, you have to make this crap fun for both teams.

I'm still getting the hang of the maps, but I'll say one thing: the beginning of the Airstrip stage, where one team spawns on the plane and the others on the trucks, it's horribly balanced. The villains, which spawn on the trucks, are at a massive disadvantage. The Heroes getting 10 kills over the other team when the reach the main level is routine. Something needs to be done about this.

Boosters seem to be not as awful as I thought. To be honest all the options you have seem kind of overbearing at first. You have booster selection, kickback selection, loadout selection, mods selection. In a way it feels like you have 5 boosters set at the same time with your two boosters, one kickback and several mods for your guns. I'm still early but I have a feeling once people level up it's going to be a hilariously awful experience for newcomers. Machine guns have an very low rate of fire when unmodded, even the sound they make is annoying. This puts anyone that's just getting into the game at a massive disadvantage, nevermind taking into consideration inherent player skill and experience. If it was up to me I'd at least remove this particular mod. Everyone should have access to the same rate of fire.

Visually it's inconsistent and unfinished, but that's to be expected. No MLAA in the beta for those of us that though it might use it. I'm not sure but I think the image quality is not as good as UC2 at the moment.

Overall I'm having fun. Still learning the maps, most important part of any multiplayer game. :P

Found Player! Also in Hardcore mode like others above mentioned.

edit: waahh then it kicks me from the game :/

edit2: and now the ps3 freezes again haha

Hmm if everyone is only testing hardcore mode...thats not very good for the normal modes.

I know this is a beta, but this game is looking rough graphically...at least in regards to the character models in the menu.

It's the image quality, it's pretty bad. Don't jump on me GAF but I think the beta or at least the menus might be sub-HD.

This is laggy, choppy, and the visuals look REAAALLLLY rough. The lag I wont hold against it, but these visuals are really below what I was expecting. :/
