Uncharted 3 MP Beta Thread: Cinematic Murder Testing

1.5 matches in hardcore went fine for me. Then I left to join two friends and hard froze. Coop froze. Now I'm back in hardcore and found a match within one minute.

and I can confirm that Jett, this morning every (full) game we played was locked @ 30 fps, the slowdown is a netcode issue since early this afternoon. This game constant freezings' gonna break some PS3 units, don't wanna risk mine so I'm just calling it a night.

Keeps freezing on me... but I like the new "weight" of it.

Animation is incredible.

Don't know right now other than we're working on it. I know better than to disturb the Dogs actively working on fixing any issues - I'll end up delaying it for you all.

Well, yeah, that's true. But shouldn't they have anticipated that? They knew what was coming, so surely they didn't just leave the server capacity the same and hoped for the best?

The full game will let you post pics, videos, and send invites using Facebook.

Now that I think about it, is Facebook the reason the game is using in game invites instead of the standard PSN invites in U2?
 
why do I have the feeling that people are hyperboling the IQ of the beta? Oh, I know. Because this is GAF. After hearing all the issues, I was going to to just play the beta some time later, maybe tomorrow but now I feel like I should log in just to see if any of this talk about the poor IQ is true.
 
Alright guys, are there still accounts floating around that I can use to grab myself a copy?
I don't know if this released in the US already or not, but either way I don't live in the US nor have a US account with PSN Plus, so if someone could help me out...
 
I have questions for people complaining about the controls. Does the gameplay feel more Gears of War-like, or do you mean like more input delay, or what? Does adjusting sensitivity or anything help? I thought you had the ability to sprint in UC3, are people factoring that in? Thanks.

I was kinda shocked when I first saw it, in the customization menu, but honestly during the game I didn't notice it. It looked pretty much like U2.

For the most part that is what I'm seeing.Even with the camera at full zoom it was only showing up at certain parts and angles.Looks way better than Uncharted2 in AA,thats for sure.

I dunno, but I don't like how invites are done in the beta. The game DOES NOT notify you if you've received a party invite, and the game does not show if your friends are in a party either. I wonder if this can be fixed during the beta cuz otherwise it's gonna be a bit painful.

The image quality is better than UC2. not much more to be said,

no, it doesn't feel tank-like like Gears. It's just much slower compared to U2 (turning, aiming, climbing).

This is definitely my main issue so far. Feels like they nursed regular movement because they added sprinting. Too bad sprinting sucks! Controls in general feel less precise. Rally hope they address this. Still having a blast so far

I completely disagree. Jaggies are extremely visible to my eyes. Uncharted 2 with it's 2xMSAA was decent, only having real issues with transparencies. This looks like it doesn't have AA at all.

Arne serious question, when you know the Beta is causing so many hard lockups why don't you just take the beta down and display a message 'undergoing maintenance' when trying to connect? once you're sure freezings are no longer a problem then bring it back online, everyone trying to play right now is risking their hardware for no reason.
 
Anyone else REALLY like the new jumping animations? Specially the long one down. The pose, and the camera angles are just awesome. Very Jason bournish

It's not tank-like like Gears of War, we are comparing it to UC2, which is pretty fast-paced for a third-person shooter. There's no input delay. Your movements are simply slower all around. Sprinting is useless right now, I don't even know why it was added.
 
Keep noticing little things which have changed. X-axis recoils is pissing me off. Also you no longer default to hanging off the ledge when you walk over the side of something. Don't know if I will learn to appreciate these things or if they are genuine problems yet
 
Got in had a look around the menus, everything looks great.
Started a team deathmatch, having a fantastic game winning 29 to 24 and it freezes at 11 min :(
 
also 30 seconds to load a map from the hard drive? I hope they are polishing this since U2 loads maps much faster, even those on the disc (not DLC maps).
 
What's up with Sully's face? Dear god.
Also I think this beta temporarily broke my internet when it locked up in the customization menu after this bug where it'd kick me back out when I tried to change colors. Anyway, so I didn't get to play it yet.
 
More bugs and glitches than I could possibly begin to list.

Worst beta I've ever been a part of, and might only be second to the Gears of War 2 beta that started in November 2008.
 
I don't know if it's framerate or lag or what but the game becomes a slide show whenever I melee kill someone.

And speaking of melee, why does it feel so off in this game?
 
Not sure if this is a fix, but I've been hearing rumbles about turning off pop-up notifications to avoid framerate drops and freezing. Someone give it a try, k gaf?
 
Yeah Uncharted 2 feels a heck of a lot better than this beta, it also looks better. U3 Beta is just rough all around. I don't understand why they messed with perfect gameplay mechanics, ND must enjoy the extra work.
