Uncharted 3 MP Beta Thread: Cinematic Murder Testing

Yeah, I appreciated the quickness and keeping the same teammates, but the window of opportunity to leave a game is EXTREMELY small.

When the game was done, it was calculating my totals, then I unlocked 2 things. When I checked the lobby, we were already voting on a map! Way too late to back out then.

Oh no. I don't give a shit about cash that much. I pretty much bought everything the beta has to offer. For me, it's always fun first mixed with being slightly competitive. I was just pointing out stuff that comes up in my head. I am curious about cash differences however between someone who just kills and farms in Plunder compared to someone who gets some kills and scores the idol because if the person who is farming for kills gets more money than the person scoring it, then it's bullshit. I'll have to test this out with my friend later.

As for Hunters, I honestly really don't have any suggestions on what they can do to make that mode more appealing to me. I'll have to play more matches of it to get a better feel of it, but I'm finding it very hard to enjoy it.
 
I think the treasure system is bugged.
I counted that I needed 20 more treasures. I collected ~10 more, but I still need 19 treasures. Either they are not being counted when I pick them up, or I am picking up the same treasures multiple times.

You pick up duplicates, which is something I wish would be changed.

I really enjoy Hunters mode, but something is weird about it and I really don't know how I would change it. Whoever plays as the Heroes first is at a disadvantage. All the opposing team has to do is outscore them and then they can just go on a killing spree because getting the treasures doesn't earn you anything at that point.

Maybe you could do 4 rounds? Pirates, Heroes, Heroes, Pirates

You are picking up duplicates.

That is something I don't like. I wish that if you picked up a duplicate, based on the rarity of that item, it would give you just cash instead.
 
I reached level 30 and got Drake's baseball cap today. Love the cap, so rad. Also played Hardcore mode for the first time today, and it's so good.
 
so they took weapon mods out of hardcore, so now it's just 'vanilla' UC3. the problem is the AK and M9 are trash without mods, there's no reason to use them over the GAL. I hope they reduce the recoil/spray on them to put them in line with the GAL. All 3 should be equally effective in in different ways.
 
Is the FB integration implemented? I click sign in but the game just doesn't do anything.
Not a huge deal at this point though.

Had my first few games today and was having a blast. Got to rank 4!

The only one that should have slightly reduced recoil is the AK, it kicks like a mule too much to be effective at medium range, M9 is fine. The problem is the pistol is too weak and they don't have a proper long-short combo when the player has the AK.

I agree. I used the AK mostly in U2, but I had to change to the GAL in the U3 Beta.
 
If you link your Facebook, can you deactivate it from the game if you later decide that it's not worth having it linked up?

I just saw giantbomb's quick look and all I can say is wow. Especially the moving airplane map, why did I sell my PS3 :(.

If it makes you feel any better the moving airplane section loses its charm once you realize it's completely unbalanced. It's fun the first time though.

I really enjoy this game but I feel like the screen is too busy. My senses are just overwhelmed with text and colors and garish lighting (airplane map). Does anyone else feel this way? Like they can't see what the fuck is going on very well?

Also the use of the awesome orchestral score during key moments of gameplay is a great touch. I wish more games did this. Gets the heart pumping!

Same. Especially the airstrip map. I went back to UC2 and everything is much more clear, even if the lighting is no where near as good. The Yemen map looks like it could be easier to see.

Warhawk is the best when it comes to music playing dynamically during specific scenarios (double+ kill, big death, heroic kill etc).
 
Plunder is a lot more fun than TDM. No power weapon spawns for people to spend half the match hovering near. Not a fan of this new co-op mode though. If the player controlled enemies that are defending have no objectives, what is the incentive for them to do anything other than camp on the treasure return locations?

I wish they'd put just one of the missions of this "co-op campaign" into the beta because that is what I am most looking forward after the main campaign itself. The co-op parts of UC2 that were from the single player were great.

Also hope they clean up this issue where you can punched to death by somebody you just gunned down. Corpses don't have that much centrifugal force unless they are getting dumped off of a skyscraper.
 
they definitely tweaked some weapon damage. Default pistol got buffed and the recoil was turned down, the AK got weaker.

Really? That's what I use almost exclusively and got 16-6 twice today. Never felt like I was robbed.
 
i remember seeing videos of UC3 showing drop down melee kills. I was hoping they would be implemented in multi but it seems as if it is only a single player thing? so many times i have found myself wanting to drop down on somebody and kill them... probably due to just beating infamous 2.
 
Three fucking consecutive matches of Hunter Mode where my team mate doesn't fucking do anything. Why bother doing anything when killing gets you the most cash and scoring doesn't give you shit? Ugh, this mode is fucking terrible. Hey, let's casually change the treasure chest location in a matter of minutes and conveniently put an idol near it for an easy score. :|

Damn it, Stardust, you know better than that. Don't play with randoms.

Also, the chests never change. Each idol has its own chest. Scoring does need to give you points though.
 
I hate the hunters mode! What happened to the other modes from 1.01? I mostly play co-op so where is my co-op mode?
Also the party system never works for me! I can't join my friends group neither can he mine, it's totaly annoying!

So apparently....

-Micro damage has been reduced
-Increased damage for Para-9
-Reduce recoil for Para-9

Not sure how reliable that is.
 
No offense, but shut the fuck up about lag already. It's annoying here, it's annoying in the chat room, it's annoying everywhere(not talking about you specifically Lince). We all suffer lag, we all deal with it. Some people virtually consider every person that kills them to be laggers, with the way they talk. Just...shush, damn. Complain about lag when you see people teleporting from one place of the map to another. Complaining about half-a-second lag seems like such a bitchmove.

I don't get why this game fails so hard at matching people with others in their local area

I haven't had a single game that is with Aussies. Seems like the entire system is based around Americans
 
Nevermind. Google search actually worked.

So this post isn't a total waste - I think the regen time should be upped a bit. I'm not even complaining about me not killing other people. I just escape, turn a corner and my screen is all colorful again, and I think it's unfair to other people. I think another second would be just about perfect. Maybe a tad less.

it's just the way the game handles hosts, but oblivious players living in the host advantage area are just taking us as sore losers or just bitches if we dare to complain.

Jett my friend I wasn't complaining of getting killed by laggers or killing laggers myself, I was just stating the obvious, the network code both in U2 and U3b always favors those in America (continent, stop mistaking America with the USA), well if we can't complain here about the unfairness of U2-U3b matchmaking and host advantage then what do you suggest? that we should just shut up and deal with it? that's what I do when I play the game, but this is a discussion forum. I still prefer playing in GAF parties even when I know there's a 100% probability of landing in a terrible (for us) USA-hosted match. Friends >> lag, KD/R and whatever, still it's unfair and a lazy move on ND part and I wish you all could experience this at least a couple of times to understand it.

If you still think this is a bitchmove then I guess we'll just have to agree to disagree, I still love you anyway.
