Uncharted 3 MP Beta Thread: Cinematic Murder Testing

Also, I like Yemen, but I in team deathmatch it just turns in a sniper camp fest.

I really don't like what Uncharted 3 has done to Deathmatch gametypes. People camp more than I EVER saw in Uncharted 2. Map traversal is almost non-existent. Team Objective and Plunder show off Uncharted multi better than ever now.

Note to self: Never ever play again plunder with randoms.

Plunder with a team without roles just becomes are sauce fest with "blood" everywhere

"NO there is need to go toward the treasure if there are still ennemies alive in the area !!"
HOw hard is this ?

Wow. Yemen is amazing. Perhaps one of the best Uncharted maps. The Strip is o.k. and Chateau is nice, but Yemen is really something great. Hopefully some of the other maps will be like this one.

Of hard is this to grasp this ?

nonononono. You kill your way towards the treasure. That's how you do this shit.

I haven't really experience this. I am definitely a traversal player and don't feel any more encumbered by campers in UC3 than in UC2. Map design assits the cover-based shooting, but that is a major mechanic in the game and the G-MAL and Dragon benefit from camping behind cover. However, the maps also allow people to get behind the enemy very quickly so no camping spot is really safe. I almost never use the cover mechanic and generally finish TDM and DM game types in one of the top spots.

A lot of people seem to use the same access routes all the time which allows camping to succeed. But that is the same in most games of this sort. The good thing about the traversal aspect of the Uncharted series (and the generally good map design) is that it is easy to approach any area from multiple directions so a camper always has their back exposed.

I'm still undecided with Yemen, the co-op adventure though is awesome.

Yeah, my favorite part about U2 is back in full force. Such a great time and my team barely scrapped by.

Such a tease at the end of that section.

i noticed right now the hipmelee works better with ak than micro. Is it just my imagination? Both with rate of fire upgraded.
No, it isn't just your imagination. AK with the fire rate mod is a beast for hip/blind firing. Also, I'm finding the regular pistol better than the micro for the hipfire+melee combo.

Definitely agree with you. It's a dream when you team up with friends, a nightmare with randoms. Same with all multiplayer I suppose.

I wish more games had some co-op section. I can understand that it is probably a strain on assets and time, plus there is a degree of repetitiveness, but still I often find it more enjoyable then the regular MP.

Dead Space 2 should have had something like this.

I like Yemen but I'm currently seeing an outrageous amount of camping right now
The two towers either side is where they tend to hide. Doesn't help when your buddy is camping there and you then have to randomly spawn instead.

Still - Cluster grenade the hell out of them when I get every chance. :)

In this case I would actually switch buddies but with randoms it's sometimes difficult to do.

Yeah Yemen is a camping heaven. You can't go through that middle area without getting shot at. Camping in general is definitely a problem in some games I've played. To combat that I usually go to the enemy head on with another teammate by my side so at least one of us is getting some kills.

They should put in a "Get over here dumbass!" button for use in co-op with randoms.

I'd love a dialogue wheel for co-op. Just, standard comments... "defend me!" "help!" "get the hell over here you blithering idiot!"... y'know, standard stuff :P

I LOVE that Drake/Sully/Elena tell the rest of your team mates "come get this!" Or "Help!" in co-op adventure. It's so effective too because low level players didn't know what to do and as soon as they heard that, they automatically went my way. Naughty Dog, you're moving in the right direction with this. I actually smirked when I first heard my Drake saying that. Now add this sort of dialogue in the other modes and I'll love & appreciate you forever. The possibilities are so endless especially with the cast of characters. Getting a defender medal for protecting your team mate and your team mate saying "thank you!" Oh man. I'd kill for that.

Is there any way to see how far you are towards unlocking the stuff for the retail game? I kinda think I should play more before it ends, but I've ended up wrapped up in Uncharted2. I lost my previous save, had the final boss to beat on a Normal playthrough again, finished that, played through on Hard and I'm about to start on Crushing, which I've never beaten before.

That's always been in Co-op adventure, like in UC2 when you have to help a teammate get up somewhere your character would say, "Up you go" Or "Come on" or something similar. Help me when down has always been there in UC2 co-op adventure. They need to put that in Co-op arena!!

Damn I hate Survival. We completely dominated each round but there's always that one mercenary hiding somewhere and we end up losing precious time.

I tried out DM/Plunder/Objectives on Yemen and Co-op adventure on Syria, and damn am I impressed. Yemen is probably the best looking MP map I have ever seen on any game, and the verticality is just amazing.

Co-op adventure is also a load of fun, especially the climbing part near the end.

Oh man, yemen is tits, and I haven't found a camping sniper I couldn't break yet. So many lovely tunnels and alleyways that let me spin around and get behind my enemy.

Alright, Naughty Dog, you screwed something up with patch 1.04; it is a certainty that I will get disconnected sometime during play.

I had no problems at all prior to 1.04 but now I get dc'd every day, multiple times a day; so I quit until October when it better be fixed.

Or else, I'll be mad at you... or something.

I'm probably in the minority but I'm disappointed that none of the maps will be playable for 1 on 1 or 2 on 2. Playing 1 on 1 in UC2 with a friend was the most fun I've had playing online, well, ever.

Can't say I'm a fan of the Yemen map either.

Please bring back Train Wreck and The Village for my 1 on 1 needs.

Co-op on the Syria map is great fun, but I dunno, the tower-climbing part seems completely unbalanced because the character often spazzes out and just dies without any visible reason. Also, the guys at the top damage you insanely much. Still haven't finished the map.

Use the big stones as cover, kill the enemies, move to next big stone, kill enemies, go to the top.

i dont get the coop adventure. what exactly are we supposed to do? there were some enemies, we beat them, someone said "i guess we need to go up there" - nothing happens, no way to "get up there" to be found

Are you going after the idols? The green arrow will lead you to them and show you where to place them. Eventually you'll get a mini boss and once you beat him, place his idol in the correct spot, and wipe out any remaining enemies, the tower of doom will open up. Get to the top of tower and clear out all the enemies to finish the demo.

this multiplayer is pretty improved. I think i shall play it when Uncharted 3 rolls about.

Will you actually talk to us this time or will your words have to be transmitted through your friend's mic like last time?

maybe that was a bug, because we could not get into the tower
