Besides, I find the 20 matches/clips limit a bit strict, and the need to upload the file and send it via PSN to people in my friends list or strangers (of whom I should know the username) kinda annoying. Nevermind the fact that they should own the game and maybe boot it up just to watch it.
Or the silliest little thing - the match I was talking about is now lost forever.

I have a few:

Throwing a grenade on Airstrip and wiping out a bunch of turret campers.
Been able to wipe out almost an entire team with a G-MAL while in the plane (at least several times).
Nade-killing a guy camping on the glitch part of Chateau.
Sneak attack kills. So good.
Getting a cluster bomb kill.


Least favorite parts:
Getting killed by a guy repeatedly who is seemingly running faster but is not using sprint or a kickback. This has happened quite a bit.
Getting killed by a guy talking smack on USB headset....on a beta and saying "everyone I'm playing against isn't that good" and getting killed three times in a row by him while he uses a M-29. I messaged him and told him I didn't take too kindly to that (not the killing part, just the smack talking part). I got his screenname, but it's really not that serious.
Using M9. At any time.
Getting a cluster bomb kill on my own teammate.
November can't come soon enough.

:lol Well I have always said Uncharted was already my go to multiplayer PS3 game. :)

I hope Naughty Dog takes all our feedback into consideration. Blindfire AK47's Deception is unacceptable. Speedy G is also trash. People run around at incredible speed with a power weapon like the shotgun or pistole and are unstoppable.
 
okay, final feedback time.

General
  • Health: 1.00 was absolutely perfect. Don't touch it. Don't touch it. Don't touch it. Don't touch it. Don't touch it. Don't touch it. Don't touch it. Don't touch it.
  • Health: Hardcore health should be the default in all modes.
  • Health: 2.5 bursts from the G-Mal should kill in normal TDM.
  • AK47: Autoaim is little too effective in close quarters.
  • Hitboxes: Need to have more variation. Headshots obviously should have the highest damage.
  • Slower movement: Iffy on it. It's not bad per se, but no one really complained about how Uncharted 2 controls. U2's controls were just perfect. I prefer to run around, climb and not stand still. The slower movement takes a lot of joy out of it all.
  • Pulldowns: Proximity has been decreased. This makes me sad. Hopefully with better netcode they will at least be consistent.
  • Buddies: Let me choose my buddy in the matchmaking screen.
  • Voices: Where are they? Everyone is so silent. I'm assuming you're still VO capping though.
  • Late join in FFA is a terrible idea. I hate spawning for the first time and being down 8 when the match begins.
  • Turret + buddy spawning will get abused. Make it so you can't spawn on a buddy if he's using the turret.
  • Changing a loadout shouldn't require me to use medals/press start. Just have an option to change the loadout while the respawn timer is waiting to expire.
  • Smoke Bomb kickback: needs to require higher medal count/not trigger so quickly.
  • In Siege mode, the announcer should announce "Get your ass into the circle"
  • Co-op Objective mode should be 5 minutes per game, randomized mode selection, with no repeating modes.
  • BBQ radius needs a bump. Keep the grenades as is, but BBQ needs tweaked.
  • Kickbacks should stack in Co-op, not in competitive.
  • If you're going to have difficulty settings in the Co-op adventure mode, let us pick them and not have to luck out with the matchmaking.
  • Level progression seems to be a hell of a lot more rewarding than Uncharted 2.
  • Weapon/idol/BBQ pickup is still luck of the draw which you pull first. The priorities need changed.

Powerplays
  • They should never trigger when the game is close to the end (say the score is 43-38).
  • Way too easy to trigger.
  • It should be 10 kills behind/60 second duration.
  • 5 kills behind/30 seconds would also work well.
  • Member on the leading team should only have to be subjected to the PowerPlay's advantage once.
  • If a player gets killed during the Power Play, the other team should not have the advantage over him once he respawns.

Interface
  • Needlessly complicated.
  • Personal connection bar blends into the background on the matchmaking screen (just make it green like the rest of the players). Ping display would be ideal, though.
  • More info is definitely needed on the party screen.
  • If my friend is in the matchmaking lobby (i'm unable to join them), list it as in the matchmaking lobby. If they're in a joinable lobby, list them as being in a joinable lobby.
  • When clicking on a friend, list all the members in his party/how many in his party.
  • Allow parties to be invite only or joinable.
  • Invites obviously need to have a notification popup/sound. I'd like to be able to clear all the old ones out as well.
  • List all members on the friend's list who are playing the game at present with some type of logo/notification.
  • Let us save our emblems. When I unlock new stuff, I want to test the new emblem. If I don't end up liking it, I don't want to completely remake my previous emblem.

Bugs/Glitches
  • During Siege mode in The Chateau, at the top circle location, the enemies can shoot through walls.
  • Sometimes the high-five blue circle prompt blocks the view of other enemies
  • One of the beginning spawn points during 3 TDM in the Chateau puts you right next to the turret, which makes for an easy two kills.
  • Buddy spawn is broken. "In combat" never works correctly.
  • You can't aim/shoot while on certain ledges (the big wooden ladder type object in Chateau, some of the ladders in Yemen come to mind).
  • When in a full party, sometimes one person will randomly end up on the other team.
  • When attempting to change the color of "voice" it automatically selects the feet.
  • Cinema mode: the y-axis is always inverted.
  • Cinema mode: uploading bar goes backwards
  • Cinema mode: when rewinding, the game clock doesn't adjust properly.
  • Collision when climbing often causes both players to fall.

Suggestions
  • Hardcore mode should be available for all game types.
  • Team objective needs to have longer rounds/requirements to win. Make up a search & destroy/capture the flag type game and make it a best of seven game.
  • In-game join for friends in definitely needed.
  • A separate icon for pulldowns/kickoffs would be nice in the kill feed.
  • Presence Data (XMB info) would be nice.
  • Custom soundtracks please!
  • For Cinema mode, make a list of all medals received on the menu and let us re-name the files.
  • Make a shortcut while in game to "mark" a specific area that you want to revisit later in Cinema mode.
  • Unranked custom public/private games.
 
I'm not gonna give long ass impressions and a detailed list of changes I want. I'll just say that overall the multiplayer was awesome. Weird at first since it's different from UC2, but it grew me on really quickly, and in the end I came to love it. Excellent map design for the Airstrip and Yemen(it's sad that Chateau seemed great at first but every match in the final week devolved to clusterfucks inside the Chateau proper), I even like the airplane sequence, it's actually quite easy to kill the heroes if you know what you're doing. People should realize you don't need to board the plane at all.

I think ND will make the obvious necessary changes, like de-buffing the AK47's blindfire properties(I think that's another thing that made me play less of the game after that weapon was buffed up), and making it so throwing back a grenade takes precedent over all other inputs. BTW, in one of my final games I threw back a cluster grenade and killed the guy who threw it in the first place with it. That was pretty great. I did learn to walk towards grenade instead of away from then, in the end... :P

I only played till lvl 10...can't play it for the whole of this week due to army :(

Still, i really enjoy playing the beta, can't wait for the retail version!

Great list! Can you really have both of these though? If every mode has a hardcore variant, would it need to be defaulted for the standard as well?

Yep. Just look at what happened to Uncharted 2. Granted, there's a join feature, but I wouldn't want to have unbalanced teams until enough people join to make it even.

I still think Hunters is the worst mode so far. I just don't see the fun in that mode and for the life of me I just can't come up with suggestions to improve it or make it fun. Something about it...

A capture the flag mode would be awesome for Team Objective like another poster mentioned.

Agreed. It's really... boring. Arena is my favorite, and Adventure is good as well.
 
I wouldn't mind seeing a "Select A Weapon" mode for TDM/TOBJ, Hardcore, Fight For All, or Co-op where all the players have to play with a certain weapon (RPG's, AK-47's, G-MAL, pistols, sniper, etc.). That would make some fights interesting...

technically it is, but it's a little bit slow paced because carrying the idol slows you down. You can throw it of course, but a capture the flag mode would be quicker. I just want stuff like that in Team Objective. Stuff like Treasure Hunter and multiple VIP are fantastic additions into the mode that REALLY emphasize teamwork. The best part is that randoms so far seem to stick together when these two modes happen and they last a reasonable amount of time so it doesn't end too quickly.
 
I tried going back to U2 after the beta ended, but it wasn't the same. I had a great time with this beta, and can't wait until the final game. If ND makes some smart tweaks, this could be the go to mp game on the PS3. And to think that GAF was in meltdown mode before the beta started, lol. There's almost unanimous praise for what ND has done so far. And to think that there's still the awesome campaign to look forward to.
 
I curse at Naughty Dog for ruining UC2's health. There are no words to describe the health difference from the beta to UC2's. I just played my first deathmatch in UC2 after not playing it since the beta and it sucked so much because of the low health. It's a painful experience. Gotta get used to it again. Gunplay however remained excellent even though I can't aim for shit with my pistol anymore. :lol
 
It'll be interesting to see how the popularity of this beta will affect the game sales this fall. 1.53 million players, compared to 1.29 million for Gears 3. Ofcourse, there was a difference in availability, but still.

I'm also interested how this whole Subway promotion they have going on will either help or hinder the game.

If I was a betting man though I still think Gears 3 will outsell Uncharted 3. Its release window is much less packed and Msofts advertising will be through the roof.

No question about that. Gears 3 already has over 1 million preorders.

Combine that with MS crazy advertising budgets and the fact that there has been a severe drought in exclusives for the 360 lately and Gears 3 will sell gangbusters.

I still think Uncharted will do fairly well though. It won't open huge, but it will have long legs and sell consistently over time. It could probably hit 5-6 Million over its lifetime if Sony stops being so goddamn cheap with their advertising/marketing.

I'm actually surprised to say this, but I don't feel like playing Uncharted 2 anymore in the state that it's in when it comes to deathmatch. I'll still settle for co-op since that's leagues better than Uncharted 3's co-op modes and more intense. The beta has really spoiled me. The painfully slow matchmaking...the quitters with no late joins or any joins at ALL, the spawn kills, the stupid fucking MUTE skeletons and MUTE skins, Situational Awareness, Down the Irons/Fleet Foot, the LOW health (this is the biggest thing that upsets me)...it's just not that fun like the beta was. The higher health allowed for much more traversal...it's back to being shot in the back and dying within seconds. :(

And the worst part is that there's no more support for it. ND hasn't supported Uncharted 2 in a very long time. There hasn't been another title update that fixes stuff like the glitches, the Crushing troll lab is still active after god knows how many months...it's been completely abandoned. There's not even cash events anymore. It's a barren wasteland when it comes to support from ND and it's a shame.

arne/ND, the least you guys can do is add a Lab where the health is higher. Please. Remove the Crushing lab and make a lab where the health was like it was in the UC2 beta pre 1.05. I don't know why you guys haven't done this yet, but please consider it.
 
It would be nice to have a last week XP multiplier week as a farewell send off to UC2's multiplayer. I think Naughty Dog will do it a couple weeks before UC3 hits shelves...

Leveling is ridiculously painful after that 7x week...
 
I'm forever going to be stuck at level 69. I only make like 10k in each Deathmatch and I'm the top player in almost every match. I'd make more if I used negative boosters, but fuck that. To be honest, I never really cared about getting money for leveling. I just played for fun, but the game isn't as fun to me anymore. I'll give it a few days to adjust to everything, but ugh. I just want a lab with higher health. I don't think I'm the only one...I'm sure if I check their forums, there would also be requests. :(

Would be nice but I can never see ND doing anything that gives any type of acknowledgment that lowering the health in U2 was wrong.
 
I know this is not exactly the thread but playing UC2 after UC3b is a pain, the host advantage + ridiculous health make the game unplayable for me, 1 bullet kill everywhere, from 20-6 in UC3 to 6-18 in UC2, just sticking my nose out of cover got me killed in less than a second without seeing the bullets, this is largely mitigated playing alone instead of in a GAF party and finding a local game, but that's pretty boring... the higher health in UC3b compensates the host advantage when playing in hosts from different regions. And UC2 is full of whiners, campers, glitchers, little kids (a 9 year old!) and 95% of the time people that will insult you constantly just because you killed them with a power gun. UC2 is ruined. Oh, fun fact, not racist, but why is that game full of Mexican players? is there some promo or something going on in that country for UC2? serious question.
 
One thing I want in the full version is something they didn't have in U2 and it pissed me off. New trophies in DLC should retroactively count kills/medals from before downloading the DLC.

0 daily players on Uncharted 2 multiplayer. LOLZ. UC3MP better be awesome on its final release, we won't have anything to fall back if it isn't.

Heres my suggestion(s):

Since loot only drops upon death - its pretty obvious that a bunch of other shit drops along with it - such as different weapons from anyone who was involved.

Its just like ammo all over again. I'm trying to go pick up this fucking loot when 9/10 times I'm picking up a different gun or two on accident. In that whole confusion, I get killed. Its just a time waster that should never happen.

Sure, loot is great to get people to where they don't usually go - but don't make us fumble for it with the triangle button as well. It deserves to be auto-picked up, just like ammo. The only things that should require a triangle button press to pick up are different guns and the treasure during Plunder. Thats it!

Other than that, airplane sequence needs tweaking. Chateau needs fixing. Yemen is damn near perfect. AK will probably get nerfing, but then something else will just take its place. If anything, it should be the M9 - that gun is so damn useless as it is now.

PLEASE fix traversal! Too many times do I jump at a ledge to see Drake just fucking float there for 3 seconds and fall back to a normal standing state. Needs better ledge/grab detection.

I also hated the damn jump stacking you guys did, but now I think I've grown accustom to it. I'd spam the jump button just to get up on this ledge and since it stacks, I end up jumping after I get up as well - out to nowhere. Maybe tweak that a little bit.

Anyway you guys can randomize the weapon spawns? Really its going to turn into the exact same BS with everyone going for it right at the beginning. It herds players into the same motions again and again and stagnates the gameplay. Hell - I do it all the time. Because if I don't, someone else will.

Uncharted TV needs better content.

When the match ends, there is a small cinematic. Please place the top players emblem in that cinematic at all stages. Really get people to notice and strive for it. Also if you are wearing your emblem on your shirt, the emblem will disappear if your character happens to be in that end cinematic. Please fix.

Another shout out to my "Follow The Leader" idea - please think about it ND.

Increase deathmatch time on Team Objective - it goes by way too fast.

Why is there no place for players met inside of the U3 UI? I'd like to invite some people met inside of a match that I gelled with. Why foster friendships with the whole fist bumping mechanic if you're not allowing that to exist/be created outside of the match?

Ok, this is way out there. But ND - its one whole game later and melee still is so basic and unintuitive. Should be a battle between timed Triangle and Square presses. Some kind of cinematic fight out that would replace the whole "Imma run in a circle and blindfire the AK!".

Does anything "cinematic" happen on Yemen? Also the fire needs to destroy more of the Chateau - the guy throws a fucking torch up there and all that gets destroyed is one floor of one room? And the fire isn't even dangerous. Needs more pop.

Also please speed up lighting changes - I feel like I'm looking into nothing too many times while going from outside into some room on Airstrip and Chateau. I get the idea - but it isn't fun being blind for so long. Just speed it up a tad.

Please tell me there are more modes planned than what is in the beta!

I agree with the whole list, but I wanted to highlight these ones in particular, as they're the ones I agree with the most.

The health really is perfect, so please don't change it.

Pulldowns are pretty glitchy. I could be like 5 feet away from the guy, and he can still pull me down.

It's a little CoD, but I like that you unlock mods, costumes, and things with every level you gain. You also earn medals for running, hanging, or climbing. Even if you aren't killing someone, you still get medals.

Custom soundtracks would be nice too!

I assume the Helen Mirren woman will be a villain skin in multiplayer, but one female villain skin doesn't cut it. The hero side will have at least two, with Elena and Chloe, so hopefully they can add at least one more. I'm sure ND will release multiplayer skins as DLC like in 2, but I just wanted to mention it. ^__^
