its not only a football game bro

its the biggest european football stage. a stage where the likes like bayern munich, one of the best teams in the world, show their skills to the whole wide world.

While I agree, having seen advertisements months in advance, the ad displayed is the same treatment Vita got at some point.

Probably the most interesting thing about the game tbh.

This post would have had potential with some argument behind it.

Edit:

I see. Not totally untrue lol

Eh, nice, although they could spend some money on other games while they're at it. Unchated is a safe hit and a known IP, ND is well known too at this point. Is there really a need for Uncharted4-printed amazon packages?

Wait, one of the most expensive video game projects ever has a huge marketing push as well?

i wanna see the receipts.

I know people are jumping on OP a bit, but they are going pretty mental in the UK at least it seems. It's all over buses nationwide, too:

And they're running a lot of TV/cinema ads already.

The Champions League presence is obviously nothing new as Sony has sponsored it for years, but I think this is the first time they've explicitly referenced a game. Usually they just mention platform and call it a day.

It's one of the most expensive ever? I hadn't heard that? What's the budget?

I wouldn't think it would be anywhere near GTAV, Battlefield 5, or Call of Duty..

Show me the money.

i wanna see the receipts.

I have no numbers since ND doesn't seem to publish those, but you are fooling yourselves if you think that a game with that development time and consistent visual quality with focus on a huge singleplayer campaign and an additional sophisticated multiplayer mode would be among the cheaper games out there; besides, you obviously get what I'm saying

god I can't wait for the meltdowns in the review thread when some outlet gives it an 8

I can't see this game doing poorly among critics, and even if it does get a 7 or 8 here and there, you'd have to be awfully childish to "melt down" over it on a forum.

Damn, if they can afford that kind of spot, I wonder how much marketing budget there is for shills to post crap all over the web.

a lot of AAA games get ads on buses or in sports arenas, what's the big news?

Fair enough, no argument from me at all. I suppose it's just unprecedented for a Sony first-party game - they don't usually go to these lengths. But you're quite right.

Personally I don't remember a single game ever being advertised like this during such a massive CL game. They do seem to be going all-out.

No I meant the game. Like as in the football game. Not Uncharted 4. Lol.

Worst Champions League Semi I have ever seen. Two overhyped teams just waiting around for one of their superstars to do something. Something tells me tomorrow night will be a bit more interesting.

Shame Ratchet and Clank didn't get the same treatment. Outside of gaming websites I have seen no advertisements for the game or the film and I've seen several films in various cinemas the last two months. Not a single trailer and yet they'll advertise Ice Age at my local cinema before Batman vs Superman.

I've seen a bunch of commercials for R & C while my daughter is watching Teen Titans on Cartoon Network.

Seen a ton of Ratchet Clank trailers on youtube, very good they are too.

Regarding Uncharted, pretty huge but sure I've seen this type of thing for so called lesser games on the advertising hoarding. Also lots of news suggest Champions League viewing figures have dropped by quite a lot in the last 4-5 years, probably down to pay per view rather than being free to air like it has been for many countries for decades so might not get the reach as before.

UK for example would have 5-6 million watching last year when free and the other years before but this year it's mostly pay per view only so around a million will watch. The other semi final is free tomorrow but it's on a channel no-one knows about and so far only gets 200k rather than 4-5 million a non English team semi got last year and before. That's a huge drop for the shitty TV deal they signed. Apparently people like Sony are not impressed with Uefa and BT in the UK. Reason why tomorrow is free is because Uefa require some matches to still be free but BT do their best that people don't know about it and subscribe which is understandable.

Sony Spain also did some advertising on MotoGP, sponsoring Moto2 rider Alex Marquez' helmet with the Uncharted 4 logo. Pic:

Aye, I do, but let's try to figure it out.
Last time I checked, they were pretty good at money management. Uncharted 3 development took 2 years and it cost 25kk USD. Sure, they had all the tech in place but they didn't start from zero this time around either (TLOU Remastered). Let's say that development cost for 8th gen consoles raised of 50%, a number taken right out of my ass. Uncharted 4 took 2.5 years of full production and probably 1 of preproduction + Hennig's trashed material. Given this premises, right or wrong, I expect the budget to be 60kk USD, 70kk USD at worst, marketing not included. It's high indeed but I've seen worse.

You call that big?

Haven't you've seen what they did just a few blocks away from where I live?

Well, shit ahahah I'm more interested in the marketing budget at this point.

Rachet & Clank is all over the children tv channels. The only thing missing is the McDonald toys

Watching NBA playoffs and pretty much every game on tonight I've seen the Uncharted slow-mo falling treasure advertisement.

TV advertising for this is just insane.

untrue. No way its budget is any where near Destiny, Any given COD, GTA, or many other 3rd party big games.

You sure about that? This is an expensive game. I remember Gaf raving about how the Witcher 3 only cost like $12,000,000 to make but then it was later revealed to be at around $80,000,000. Having top talent in a studio in Santa Monica doesn't come cheap. This is at least a cool one hundred mil after marketing.
