It's pretty bad, but the AI is a bigger issue imo. It's plain awful.
Not really, the melee is kinda similar, but way less brutal and gory and stealth (very similar), but the gunplay is pretty much the opposite, one is slow, heavy and in a way intentionally bad (the crazy weapon sway if you don't upgrade Joel), whereas the other is fast, fluid and over the the top (especially so on lower difficulties). If you play Uncharted 4 on the highest difficulty they can both get pretty intense, but on any other it doesn't really come close to TLoU in that regard, and honestly it's just such a better game on easy, whereas TLoU shouldn't be played on anything lower than hard, Survival being perfect.
What in the actual fuck?! How many games have enemy AI capable of traversing the environments to flank you? How many games have friendly AI capable of quietly dispatching enemies and holding them for you to get an easy kill? The hyperbole on GAF has extended to false statements, it seems. It's pretty bad, but the AI is a bigger issue imo. It's plain awful.
Naughty dog has never been known for their game play.
Fair enough. I understand that the controls were meant to be slow and clumsy(?) because of the survival effect on TLoU, but I did get to play the Uncharted game that came out on the Vita and man did I not even make it halfway through. The game is just not fun to me.
I haven't played much of Uncharted 4, but going by the first three, Uncharted has never had good combat. It's functional, but that's about it.
Gears, Vanquish, and Max Payne absolutely obliterate Uncharted's combat.

Never said I didn't, your reading comprehension is faulty here. I said few games have AI that react as dynamically as Uncharted 4's. We're not talking about small, straight and one floored levels here, Uncharted 4 has big, open and multiple floors in most levels and the enemy AI has no problems traversing all that to get to you. You've never played a shooter where the AI flanks you, or where friendly AI helps you?
What?

Read my edit. I didn't think I would have to elaborate since most people who actually played the game would understand, but I guess some posters refuse to acknowledge it.That's literally not what you said, but okay.
Sometimes he'll mess up your stealth attempts and you get spotted because of him. Infuriating. What really fucked me off was Sam walking about right in front of AI and it not giving any type of shit about him. Really frustrated me and collapsed the generally solid feel of the game. When I'm willing to put that aside though, the combat was good fun.
It has of the best TPS combat in any TPS ever. Gunplay is sublime.
Maybe it is not your cup of tea...
Edit: also, level design is amazing

Gears of War, Vanquish and Max Payne 3 are all leagues ahead.
On topic, Uncharted 4 is the one game in the series where I felt that the combat it self was very strong, though not amazing.
I had a fun time using the roam, running and gunning in and out of cover etc.
Uncharted 2 was decent. 3 I hated though. (In terms of combat).
I loved the combat on Hard and felt it was great, it was all about learning where your opponents were and to keep moving.
If it is frustrating to you, turn down the difficulty.
LOL. So much bullshit in this thread.
The AI is bad?! The combat isn't fun?! No and no. The combat sequences in Uncharted 4 are some of the very best in gaming.
What?
Gameplay has always been great.
TLoU has some of the finest TP combat ever concieved.
..... And GAF just hit a new level on low.Uncharted 4 is the first game in the series with mediocre gunplay rather than garbage gunplay, so it's no surprise fans consider it to be good. If I ate shit for 5 years, then I'd probably think a McDouble was the best food ever if I ate one.
its fun. There's not enough of it in the game
The stories are fun but I found every uncharted game a slog to play. The gunplay is pretty poor.
