Uncharted The Nathan Drake Collection gameplay

Yep looks like it.

Did U1 use motion blur? I dont remember but I know U2/U3 did. I know from the small clip from the train, looks like its off on the PS4 port but maybe motion blur is still in from these new comparisons. They might of toned it down to certain areas? I mean if its added fully like the originals, thats fine too.

Don't know why people talk shit about the story in three. At least it didn't have a lazy cliche as a villain or fucking zombies.

Have the grenade throwing tweaks from 3 been added to the first two? Been playing 2 and the inability to throw back grenades is sorely missed.

All 3 games have bad stories.

I liked not being able to throw back grenades. Forced you out of cover and forced you to use the environment. In U3 you could just sit behind cover and tap triangle every once in awhile.

Arne specifically stated the frame rate as being at 60. Must not have got the memo. :p

All 3 games have bad stories.

The characters are well realized though, which makes up for the plots that wouldn't seem out of place in your average summer action flick.

Didn't like 3's plot that much because it builds up this big plot point related to Drake's backstory and his motivation and then the story doesn't delve into that or explore it at all. Felt like a missed opportunity IMO

No, it doesn't do any of that. Like, not at all.

It did feel rushed, especially when Drake
abandons ship then washes up on shore and miraculously finds himself at his desired location.

well even naughty dog admitted they only added the ship and dock segments because they thought it'd look cool. 3's pacing is off. 2 is just perfect.

Pacing is better, but U2 has the worst villain in the series. The cold, war-scarred Eastern European with plans of world domination is something you expect in B movies and porn.

Derail? This is the Uncharted collection thread.

Edit: Also, I don't recall an exchange between the two of us.

It's about the collection, about the technical quality of the remaster.

And I didn't mean us specifically, just here on GAF, it's pretty worn-out.

It was not in Uncharted 1. The difference between release and remaster for that game is going to be huge.

The reason it wasn't in the old footage was because it hadn't been implemented into the collection yet. The first gameplay vid was lacking in AO/contact shadows but those were in before the story trailer. The PAX demo probably has all effects in and Bluepoint is likely just optimizing at this point.

You could've just explained your position and left it at that. It seems you've put more effort into avoiding the question than an honest answer would've required.

I think the dialogue is well-written, but the stories are incredibly forgettable.

That's my position as well. I really like Sully, Drake, Elena, Chloe and Cutter, but the stories and antagonists (Eddie Raja excluded) are standard fare.

Cannot wait for the true enemy of the 4th game to be revealed.

Nazi Zombie Yetis

Those sections of the first and second game are probably going to be a little tense on Brutal difficulty.

According to the interview, they did. The models now used in the remaster are the exact same ones used in the pre-rendered sequences from the last generation.

That's incredibly smart.

I read something where the new Ratchet and Clank game used the same or similar models to the ones in the movie.

We may see more asset sharing as the line between movies and games blurs further. It only makes sense, especially since you only typically see some of these assets from seconds to minutes at the most.

I'd say thats true for 1 and 2 but not 3.

Marlowe wasn't developed enough to seem like someone we haven't seen in countless movies and games ("Oh look, this crime syndicate is being run by...a woman! And she's out for world domination and has a connection to an important character." Snooze). The cruise ship segment was completely unnecessary and ended
with the ocean taxiing Drake to the most convenient destination
, which is just lazy as hell. I do agree that the writing - when it worked - was the best the series had yet seen. Antagonists with
mind control darts
as well as the problems listed above drag it down overall, in my opinion.

Starts at 3:29 if that link didn't work.
This looks incredible in that video!!! That probably looks closer to how I remember it looking when it first came out rather than how it actually looked which is probably a bit rough now in places.

Absolutely amazing, looking forward to playing all three again even though I've competed them all multiple times already. These games appear to really hold up well, even against some PS4/Xbox One games.

I'd love it if they could find a way to weasel Eddie into UC4 since it's story involves pirate treasure. Or maybe his sister.
