Under-appreciated Fast Food Items

Cheesy Bean and Rice burrito at Taco Bell. 99 cents and is a fantastic addition to a meal.

How do more people not know how good this is? Seriously, the Cheesy Bean & Rice Burrito is a staple every time I eat there and it tastes so good. The Cheese Sauce and Salsa Verde mix I think they use is amazing.

The day that goes off the menu will make me incredibly sad.

McDonalds Steak Egg and Cheese Bagel is woefully under appreciated. Everyone always talks about the McGriddles and stuff, but man, StEC bagel is amazing.

It better never go off the menu. I was disappointed when they got rid of the 1/2-pound Bean Burrito Especial. This is the closest replacement.

does halal food count as fast food? because halal food

also cook out is fucking dope, my hometown just got one a few months back and I've been missing it ever since I moved away.

I never understand how Fazolis does so badly and closes everywhere. You get a silly amount of good food and it's really cheap. It's like if someone did drive thru Olive Garden and people line up for that place so....

Edit: just did research and apparently they're doing better now

1980's version.
Yes. The new version is shit in comparison.

If I could find it in California you bet your ass I'd be eatin' them. They're impossible to find on the West Coast.

Wow there is a lot I've never tried in here. Unfortunately there is no Cook Out near where I stay. I've never been to one. I'm hungry now.

I'm a simple man who rarely eats fast food, but in a pinch...

McDonald's Grilled Chicken Snack Wrap:

and one of their muffins:

always seem to hit the spot for me. I'm a carrot muffin man, myself.

It kills me that we don't have these in Phoenix anymore. I loved getting a spaghetti with meatballs and those glorious breadsticks.

Burger King tacos beat every taco at Taco Bell.

Tommy's has a monstrous breakfast burrito.

Only problem is that it's 1,100 calories but it's so good.

Wienerschnitzels chilli cheese fries burrito is great as well.

jack in the box tacos

It's literally disgusting how cheap and delicious these are, but try not to think about how they're made.
6 tacos for like 3 bucks, and they're these deep fried little gut bomb tacos, too.
They are my greatest food guilt, but I have to treat myself to them every once in a while.

Anyone know if the flavored Monster Tacos are any good?
I've never bother to try them, since they're like 50% more expensive but not really that much bigger.

These motherfuckers right here. Not the ones they sell now, the ones they made about 10+ years ago before they changed the recipe. I'm not exaggerating when I say I had one of these in my fridge every day for a good 5+ Years. (At one point, I had five in my fridge)

Checker's/Rally's spicy chicken sandwich.

I remember when they used to be 99¢ and a small milk shake was 69¢. Best after school meal back in high school.

Why aren't veggie burgers more of a thing at fast food places? Kudos to Burger King, at least.

A&W used to have a really great veggie burger, they changed it awhile ago and while its still above average for sure, its not quite as good as it once was. I believe the new one is vegan where the original was not however.

I love burgers, i'm actually making some for dinner tonight but i definitely love a good turkey or veggie burger from time to time.

OP, Cook-Out is fucking amazing. I had it once on a band trip an it changed my life. I'm legit mad that there's none in Florida, I would become morbidly obese going there every day.

But uh, I guess the Daily Double from McDonald's. You get a nice size burger with all the standard fixins and the price at $2 is great. They actively took off the menu but you can still order it and it's glorious.

Edit:
Oh yeah, and Miami Subs Gyro Platter. Sooooo damn good.

Whenever I go to Burger King now, I get a few of their $1.50 smaller chicken burgers, which are surprisingly good and much better value.

Burger King's fries are also underrated when hot.

And, of course, McDonald's apple pies. At least the old ones. And ice cream.

Taco Bell had a breakfast crunchwrap that was to die for called the Country AM wrap. Now it may sound awful but it actually tasted amazing. I remember trying it for the first time thinking that it was going to taste like shit. But it was amazing. You had a hash brown sausage patty, egg, cheese, and country gravy all in one thing. Usually the eggs, cheese, and gravy were sandwiched between the sausage patty and the hash brown. These things were truly crack in breakfast form. Sadly they recently killed them off awhile back.

I've always thought the basic McD's dollar chicken was pretty great for what it costs. The breading and mayo taste way better than any other chicken sandwich at that price point.

Hm, I've never been to a Cook-Out. I'm heading down to Augusta in a week though, so I'll have to give it a go.

Anything else in that area to check out?
