Christophe Héral is a genius, so Rayman Origin's OST being so sublime isn't that unexpected..This thread needs more Rayman Origins.

I love the SpaceChem soundtrack! A nice variety in it considering some solutions have taken me hours to get.Not enough SpaceChem in this thread.
I'll help! Because it really is a fuckawesome soundtrack:
Dustforce - Cider Time
Dustforce - Sepia Tone Laboratory
Dustforce - 9-Bit Expedition
Mutant Mudds has a really great soundtrack. And a few Mighty Switch Tracks are awesome, if you like electronic music that is.
Neotokyo OST - Ed Harrison
27 tracks, 2 discs, composed for a Half-Life 2 modification.

Definitely Sigma Harmonics on the DS.
It's a title made by SE and never made it out of Japan featuring music by Masashi Hamauzu himself. (I do consider the DS still relevant) It's definitely one of the more unknown soundtracks out there due to not only it's lack of localization, but also because it was a very niche game (that I enjoyed a ton!) that didn't push many units.
Wario Shake It! has some incredible jazzy tunes
Glittertown
Windbreak Bay
Neon City
Aboard the sweet stuff
I know this game is old, but if there's one thing Ubisoft got right with Red Steel 1, it's the soundtrack.

Wow, this OST is really, really good. I've never played the mod, but I've read that it doesn't make that much use of the OST which is unfortunate. The right developer could craft some amazing moments/scenes alongside this stuff.
I am so surprised that I am the first person to mention Mass Effect's incredible atmospheric soundtrack.
The Mass Effect Theme is awesome, and so much great ambient music throughout the whole game.
EPIC Spectre induction music.
Not to mention the best credits music in this generation.
Don't really like most game music and hearing Still Alive in every trailer was pretty annoying, but the actual score by Solar Fields was fantastic and fit the game's world superbly.

You beat me to it. Not that I've played Bully but was rather "why are people talking about its soundtr...OH MY GOD and its not licensed either". Videogames-wise the composer Shawn Lee, also did some of the tracks in The Gataway game. While a really unexpected one, but not very recent (recent for me, since i played the new PC version):
Bully's.

Seriously outstanding soundtrack, dammit.
I'm not sure I understand, what was unexpected about Yoko Shimomura doing what she is good at? Or was it more you would not expect someone like Yoko Shimomura to work on such a game?
Oh man, is this going to be one of those games I play for the soundtrack? I need to get out of this thread...I know this game is old, but if there's one thing Ubisoft got right with Red Steel 1, it's the soundtrack.
