Unknown website reviews Warhawk

Awesome review, who expected the drunkards to deliver such a glowing review?!

Warhawk can't get here soon enough god damn it.

I hope TrU honors their $39.99 price point.

This game doesn't really need a review. 3000 people beta tested it in June and it wasn't actually so much behind the scenes. It's very good.

:lol NextGen Ireland

"With titles like this, Heavenly Sword and Haze all exclusive to Playstation 3, we really can see no other outcome than Sony winning this round of console wars or at least give Nintendo a bit of friendly competition."

Oh they only review sony games.

There are a lot of gamers across the world hoping a game would arrive for the Playstation 3 that warrented their purchase. Most gamers assumed that this title would be Metal Gear Solid 4, but we all know that saying about assumpions. Warhawk is easily the best purchase any Playstation 3 owner will make. With titles like this, Heavenly Sword and Haze all exclusive to Playstation 3, we really can see no other outcome than Sony winning this round of console wars or at least give Nintendo a bit of friendly competition.

From here on in, everything from reviews to news will deal solely with the Playstation brand. Let us explain why we felt Next Gen Ireland needed to change.

Firstly, E3. Yes E3 was the turning point for Next Gen Ireland. Before E3 kicked off, our editors had a long and serious discussion about where to take Next Gen Ireland in the future. After a very successful year online, our editors felt the site was becoming a little predicable and mundane. We needed a change, and to become a sole brand exclusive site is possibly the biggest change we could do. After withnessing some very exciting stuff coming from the Sony camp at E3 it was clear to everyone which brand we would be supporting. Not one of us felt overly excited about previewing the Wii weighing scales and with the constant redesign and warrenty extensions and lagging sales for the Xbox 360, Sony really was the best choice. With 100's of games on the way for the PS2, PSP and the PS3, we got very excited about Sonys future and decided this really is the best decision for the future of Next Gen Ireland.

Oh this site gold :lol

GRAW2 is over the top action???

Look at Counterstrike or even to a greater extent Battlefield 2, both games developed solely with multiplayer in mind. Both have gone on to win award after award and selling into their millions and we dont see why the same wont happen for Warhawk.

Iron clad logic here!

Stupid question since this is the W-hawk thread of the moment.

Is there a way to load up an empty map and just fly, drive, and run around looking at shit?

This site is bullshit, I am from Ireland and never even heard of it, also Sony UK’s PR are usually impossible to deal with when try to get thing over to review so there is no way they are getting Review code right now, and I don’t see how they got a debug either, if they were reviewing of Preview code… maybe there basing their review of what they played at the Edinburgh Games Festival, that’s my guess. I think one level was shown there.

I can assure you review code for Warhawk went out about 2 weeks ago.

But to this site?

Well, obviously I don't know to which sites it went, but it's there. Debug copies went out in July, I think, so assuming they can play them, they would have plenty of time to review it.

I've not seen the site though. I'm on my PS3 here.

I'd still buy it if it got a 6.

Reviews matter to me when I haven't played it and I have no idea how the game is gonna turn out. Thanks to Mercury I was able to try out the beta and I thought it was great.

If I hadn't had played the beta (as I never got into the beta), I'd look at these scores. Which makes me think that there better be an online demo released for this game. Let everyone try it out and get hooked.

Eurogamer, Pro-G, Magazines, Newspapers, and a few others that I cannot thing of right now, have all got their review code.

Me, loads of others, and obviously this fuck up abortion of site that makes all the others look bad, even though they are actually trying there best, did not.

We were offered debug code, but it's kinda useless just now...

I looked at the site. Wow. Yeah, they don't have a debug unit either. However, if they've played the beta and the updated version at Edinburgh they could still create something of a review, but I'm guessing they're just trying to hits.

Let me guess, the review's on n4g and Digg, right? ;)

Posted this in the other thread, but I called TRU about it and they said they would honor the $40 price, since that was the price agreed upon at the time of purchase.

Judging by the beta I think 9.6 is the kind of score you're going to expect from most outlets.

I'm Irish and consider these remarks as racist, and there are plenty of countries in Europe with far worse alcohol consumption problems.

I'm not sure about that. I think the majority will be from 8.5 to 9

Cons:
- On foot (infantry) aiming is not ideal, the reticule has a momentum to it which doesn't feel as good as the finesse a fps game enjoys (it is good enough though)
- No party system (though there are some cool alternative options though not fully as satisfying)
- No bots for offline

Pros:
- Excellent graphics with great performance, best in any large scale game yet
- Very polished, easy to understand and get into (more so than most mp games actually, maybe not the Warhawks but they are fun)
- Warhawks have a lot of depth to them in various areas like arsenal, flight mode/hover mode, aerobatic tricks, use of flares, bombing, motion controls/standard controls...etc
- Excellent & large game modes spanning from infantry to stationary guns of various types to land based vehicles to Warhawks (Territories and CTF are the best)
- Excellent menu (stunning actually with a great music theme), stat tracking, medals, grades and customization galore
- Dedicated servers but also option to pretty much do anything within your will in regards to hosting yourself (dedicated, ranked/unranked, website dedicated server..etc...etc)
- Best use of Sixaxis yet and actually makes flying more fun than without it
- Game loads are fast as hell
- Clan system (up to 64 folks aka 4x full teams) and friendlist (with a great option to just click on a friend to join their game), also of course voice support
- Real time split screen, press Start and the screen divides in two in real time for you to join a friends game on the same screen without quitting (up to four players)
- One game copy is enough to host for a full LAN party

I would have a given it a 9 without hesitation.

Thanks for the impressions, for a moment I tought there was an omerta on this game. It's supposed to be out in less than 10 days and it's like the word WARHAWK is banned from games sites.

STOP IT. The wait is hard enough...

Well we would rule the world if God didn't invent Whiskey.

I can't wait to test out the new stationary guns, and the new machine guns. This will change a lot of how we played ground fighting. I liked both ground and warhawks play style. I liked mostly everything about this game (beta) except for:

*Freezing
*Not being able to join buddies, or clan members because of a glitch.
*Not being able to get into a ranked game.
*Sometimes the maps were too big for the amount of people the host had on (poor map selection on his part).
*No time of day, or weather selection.
-I'm nitpicking trying to find the bad in it.
*Mines were a bit too effective but they can cause you to team kill if a enemy is close to your team when he set one off so it's best for you to think wisely where you place them.
*The warhawks are a bit intimidating to use at first if you're playing against people that seem like they were born to fly warhawks.

I can't list what I liked, out of space. Console browser #($@^$@!!. (Ground strike binoculars are darn awesome btw)
