Unusual burger toppings that you enjoy

Just because McDonald's and Wendy's don't offer fried egg on their burgers doesn't mean that it's an unusual topping. You can get that shit at any mid tier restaraunt and up.

PB&J burger is amazing. Had a burger with kimchi and korean BBQ sauce on it lately which was really nice. The crown has to go to a burger I had with vanilla ice cream in it, though. That was something else, so bad and yet so gooooood.

You guys want to taste something incredible on a burger?

Try Fried Plantains!!!

I was searching through the thread to see if someone had said this, and I'm stunned it hasn't been mentioned.

Another look at this miracle ingredient.

Try it people. You will thank me!

It's taste overload. It enhances the taste of any burger (and also eggs) to the next level. You'll wonder how you ever ate any burger without it.

Quoted again for the 4th page.

They do here. I seldom find other people who like it though. When I make burgers for a crowd most people don't want egg when I offer it. It seems to be an acquired taste.

I also forgot to mention refried beans with corn chips. Burger Fuel once did a special called the El Camino and it had those with lots of jalapeños and a regular beef patty, cheese, and salad thing, it was pretty amazing and we recreate it at home a lot.

canned sardines(in oil) soused with (warm) black coffee

instructions:
1.Brew some strong black coffee, turn off coffee maker and let it rest for at least half an hour
2.Open can of sardines and pour out most of the oil
3.pour the (now) warm coffee all over the sardines in the can (make sure coffee is warm and not hot)
4.let it rest for 15-30min
5.cover the can with some alumium foil and put in fridge over night or at least for 8 hours
6.take the sardines out of the can/coffee marinade and lay em onto the burger patty
7.take the buns, soak them with the oil-coffee marinade and throw em on the hot grill (200°C/~400°F; direct heat) or in a hot pan for 2-3 min

Jalapenos. Any kind, fresh, grilled, pickled, they're all good.

Pesto and grilled eggplant is good too.

How are jalapenos unusual? Almost every fast food or restaurant I can think of offers them as a burger/sandwich/pizza topping

But you are right about pickled jalapenos, they are incredible. I eat em right out of the jar.

I would like to see a picture of this.

On the rare occasion that I eat at McDonalds, I always put fries on the burger. It's a bit strange, I guess, but it makes the burger taste a hell of a lot better. I don't do it with a burger from anywhere else, and I don't do it when I make my own. It works on their shit, though.

I'm gonna give that fried plantains a try the next time I make a burger. That sounds pretty damn good, actually.

I was wondering if anyone does this: I went out for burgers and beer last night with coworkers, one ordered extra-extra pickles. Like a mound of them on his burger. Just that and cheese. It looked gross.

I'm cuban and never tried this. Fuck me sideways.

Kimchi Burgers are great.

Also have a place down here that puts Fois Gras on a burger, but that's such a common foodie thing right now. Also not that uncommon, but pimento cheese on a burger is stupid good.

I'm no animal rights activist but I could never in good conscience eat fois gras.
