I don't have a 360 yet and I don't like FFXI, but that is an awesomely cool thing to do.

Put the fucking whole thing in Xbox live marketplace.

I think that in US are updating things , like some movie trailers but in europe they don´t update at all.

Normally I would agree, but if I can get 6.5 gigs on a disc this would be much better than eating up half the available hdd space.

Don't worry, you have to install it and use the shitty Playonline service anyway If I read that other post correctly.

Eww, install ftl. Oh well.

I had FFXI on the PC for awhile. PlayOnline wasn't horrible. Did it somehow get worse on 360?

Only by comparison to Live, especially on 360. (From what I've read.)

I wonder if FFXI will have achivements?

-Reached Level 30, 40, 50 etc
-Looking for group for 80 total hours
-Looking for group for 10 consecutive hours...

:D

No bullshit here guys. Why would I just make scores up? I have the issue sitting right here in front of me. I'll give you a short cap of both the Ride Racer 6 and the Call of Clawhatever reviews.

Ridge Racer 6
+ Fans will love the chance to complete online for the first time in this series
- Cookie-cutter gameplay
- Serviceable graphics don't dazzle like they should
? Would else wants to throttle the @S$# announcer?

Call of Cthulhu
+ Rich story borred faithfully from Lovecraft
+ Sight of demons makes you crazy like it should
- Game effects make you physically ill like they shouldn't
? Who'd win in a fight. Tawii At-U'mr or Yog-Sothoth?

If you think that is weird, also take note that they rated Kameo higher than Perfect Dark Zero.

I've been wondering what is going to happen with demos now that the marketplace is up and running.

Will they appear in the marketplace first? Or will OXM get them first and then they'll appear in the marketplace a month or two later.

It seems that if Microsoft were to put demos in the Marketplace first, then that would pretty much cut the fucking throat of OXM because there would really be no reason at all to get the magazine.

AS WELL THEY SHOULD.

OXM continues to impress with its scoring (even if the rest of the magazine is mostly trash).

Is the RR6 review large-ish? If not, would it be possible for you to post the full review :D

It's about half a page. I'll give you some quotes.

Yep, "6" just about covers it.
Nothing about RR6 is next-gen, not even the graphics, which are just barely good enough that you'll grudgingly admit they probably couldn't run on the original Xbox
True-blue fans of the series will still enjoy the game especially since it counters its relentless faithfulness to the RR heritage with the series first foray into online action

You guys need to try the mag again. After Mike Salmon left as EIC, the mag has improved immensely. It's not as campy as it used to be and the new EIC seems more focused on getting quality information out without all the fanboy crap. It is a console specific mag, so some of that slips through, but it's not nearly as bad as it used to be.

Also, the new OXM demo disc has it's own gamer achievements. Get points by playing demos. If you get all the points, you get an unlockable menu. I assume that things like themes and stuff are unlocked.

Got this issue a few days ago, and I must say after skimming through it I'm impressed by the overall presentation present in these "Next Gen" issues.

Also, most of the reviews were spot-on, esp. PDZ. I mean, basically word-for-word with my impressions , only with a broader overview to make things all the more sweeter.

And how exactly can I hack my 'Box with this demo disc? :D :D :D Please?

From the (admittedly little) I've played of it so far, I can understand a low score for RR6.

As some on here have said, it is almost a HD version of the PSP game. It does have a tired feel about it.

That doesn't mean fans of Ridge won't like it, or it won't give you your RR fix. I'm sure it will, otherwise I wouldn't have bought it. But it does deserve to be marked down for not doing anything new.

Then by that logic, something along the lines of PDZ would havew garnered more than an 8.5...
Searching by string "PDZ"...

Not OXM's fault Ridge Racer's gameplay is old and dull. At least Capcom doesn't package the same game and call it a sequel.
:lol :lol :lol

Seriously, I'm not seeing the reason for controversy over OXM's Ridge score. It's well deserved imo.....

Coolest new feature - Idol Chat

This is where game "idols" interview eachother and than pass the baton for next issue. For example, this month Cliffy B is interviewing Tim Schafer. Next month Tim Schafer will interview Peter Molyneux. The month after that, Peter will interview someone else. Good Stuff!

"Serviceable graphics don't dazzle like they should"

you know, the more i play ridge the more impressed i am by the graphics. The design of the city is good, the frame rate is incredibly solid, the style is there, the draw distance is insane etc... etc...

anyways, best sub-7 score game i've played! :) It's like a comfortable pair of familiar slippers - so easy to slip into, feels comfy etc etc...

That IS a great feature. I hope tim does it more than once, though..

Their scores look pretty much in line with what everyone has given. They dont seem inflated at all.

Lol at RR6.
